T-shirts for $5, jackets for $30, vests for $10, and leggings for $8, you can make quite an outfit. It seemed like a cheap-o Wet Seal knockoff, but after entering I realized I can make a pretty chic outfit from this stuff. It's all a matter of mixing and matching these items with your pricier clothes at home, using these as basics to build from. I felt foolish for just spending so much at American Apparel when I could have gotten the same stuff here for a fraction of the price (side note: I will always love you American Apparel, sorry for dissing you). Point of story, shop here when you just need some fun, cheap clothes to buy. The look is a bit young, but smart, savvy shoppers will find some staples for their closet.

The sales staff is really friendly, and are usually dressed in clothes that you can buy in the store, so it's nice to see what some of the stuff looks like on a real person, instead of just on the rack or on a mannequin. They usually have some type of sale going on all the time, so it's hard to walk away without buying anything! This is definitely one of my favorite stores in Oak Park Mall.

Wow, this is big…read more I remember the first time coming to the Oak Park Mall, I asked if there was a Zara or H &M anywhere in the area. But the answer was followed with a big question mark on the face of the woman behind the information desk. So I took this same question to a very trendy salesperson at Banana Republic, who reported that a H & M was supposed to open somewhere, but they pulled out, thus leaving Kansas out of luck with fashionable, chic, cheap clothing. Until, I discovered a Forever 21 upstairs. Well, its not called Forever 21, but XXI Forever--a Forever concept store I was told...umm...I'm not sure either... But it was massive! Trendy clothes galore, and just like a real Forever, there is never your size on the rack and never a salesperson anywhere near you are standing. Luckily, there are loads and loads of clothes racks and tables to have you not care too much. It wasn't as cheap as other Forever's (maybe that's the concept?), but still moderate enough to spend a bunch and get a bunch.

I always loved coming here to go back to school shopping back in the early 2000s and honestly I'm happy to report that not a lot has changed (in a good way). This is still the best place to park and walk into Oak Park Mall, hands down. Nordstrom is still pristine, clean, and has this really nice scent to it? I don't know if that's nostalgia playing games on me from my HS days but it just feels nice to shop here. On the day I walked in recently I was on a mission to visit H&M to pick up some back to school staples for my 1st grader, but thought I'd check out the kids section here first just in case there was a steal on some mini boden or something. Their kids area is packed with adorable clothes, and while I did see some decent deals on the sale rack everything was a bit pricey for my regular back to school haul so I continued on to H&M. All that being said though, I still enjoyed shopping here and seeing what they had. It had been a long time since I'd taken the time to peruse at Nordstrom and I'll be back - it's still probably the best department store in the metro!

The store is smallish but immaculately maintained and pretty decor and displays. The store features a variety of dresses from more formal to business to casual as well as a variety of jeans and tops. The boutique also offers some jewelry and purses and has a clearance section as well. I didn't look at prices for everything but some of the shirt prices were a little too high for the particular item I felt. I didn't get photos on the inside but it is an attractive little boutique.
