They usually have a nice sales section in the back and most of the time, they have 50-60% off extra on those sale items. I did not see anything that I liked, but I did check some of their pants and socks. Nice selecion. In 1989, J.Crew opened its first retail store, in South Street Seaport in downtown Manhattan..today there are hundreds of stores, mostly in the USA, but also in some international locales.

Francesca's often has some good sales and their clearance finds can be great especially on jewelry. Good place for gifts for your fave teen or young adult ladies. I've also scored some great totes and bags and sunglasses at their locations.

Noses in the air. Even when you chase them down to help you ... they act like the waiter in Ferris Beauller's Day Off. I do find myself shopping here more than I'd like and each time I feel ignored by the staff, or like I am annoying them with anything I ask. I have been to other Banana Republic stores which are much friendlier and the staff actually seem to want to help me buy clothes. The Garden City location is just terrible.

I didn't really know what to start as I was unsure about the styles and sizes. I grabbed a few leggings thinking I would just figure it out on my own. When I asked for a fitting room, I mentioned to the employee it was my first experience and I would have questions. From that moment on she clung to me like my personal shopper. She was grabbing different leggings and sizes to help me find the perfect fit. She was honest about the material, wear and tear, and for that I am so grateful. I walked out of there with my first pair of leggings, less intimidation of the store, and knowledge about the sizes and styles. Thank you! (I think her name was Julianne). I hope my other experiences are as great as this one. As for the store, it is very quaint but also has a homey feel to it. The racks are seperated by item - tops, bottoms, jeans, shorts, athletic wear etc - and then by size so easy to hone in on what you want. The racks were tidy. The store is a good size and well signed overhead so you can see at a distance where the items you need are located. The parking lot is shared with many businesses and is busy. Accessible parking is nearby the entrance. Changing rooms were in good condition, clean with a good deal of places to hang things. The attendant who gives out the number tags was very pleasant. Plenty of cashiers available and ours was very pleasant and chatty. A quick look around shows they carry intimates, belts, bags, hats, jewelry, shoes, dressy and casual clothes as well as homegoods. I found what I was looking for and departed a happy customer. Prices are good.
