The bed was super comfortable. The place is cheap for DC. Everyone was nice. The b-fast was great but started too late for a business traveler. My room was a fourth floor walk up. The room itself was small and slightly shabby (401), but fine for my needs. The neighborhood is great and it was a short walk to everything.

Very great. Like at home! cozy and very quiet. I stayed in a single room at 3rd floor. It's small but I slept very well. There is a mirror in the front of bed. The breakfast is delicious!

The guest house is the white building in the middle.

Great location, about 3 blocks from the northern escalator at Du Pont Circle. Plenty of room to spread out, it was just my wife and I but 6 could get cozy in here and 4 could be comfortable. TV, free wireless internet, excellent location and a pleasant hostess. The basement apartment is self sufficient, so we did not have the "bed and breakfast" experience of sharing, but that's OK for us.. We had our own full bath, our own exterior entrance, etc. Rates vary, but this was such a better deal than any hotel room, how can you go wrong?

Our host, Dana, was very friendly and, since our sight-seeing plans were kind of up-in-the-air, gave us lots of good advice on places to go and things to see. The room was really cute and clean. The bed was amazingly comfortable -- one of those adjustable tempurpedic mattresses. I'm not sure if every room has one or if it was just our room, but it sure made it hard to want to get out of bed. There is free wi-fi and continental breakfast downstairs in the morning. This place is a great alternative to the pricey hotels around DC -- it has a private, relaxing feel and yet is close enough to the Metro that it is also pretty convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

Manisha and Prashsant, owners of Stone Manor Inn, were personally involved in making sure all went smoothly with our cocktail and dinner party, and it most certainly did! SMI is a lovely old country inn on 14 acres, I believe, with a number of different venues (indoors and out) for meetings, parties, and weddings. The rooms (7 in total) were eclectic, in a good way. All four of their largest rooms that we occupied were spacious, with king beds and spa tubs with separate showers. All were well maintained and clean upon check-in. We had no complaints. I'm not sure when we will return to the area, but when we do, we will not hesitate to return!

I was on the fence to book this place given its hefty price tag, and glad I went for it and completely agree with the glowing 5 star reviews. The bubbly host Manisha is very warm and welcoming. She cordially gave us a 20 min tour around the property, which was built in 1908, and even gave me a bonus tour of the other rooms afterwards. She kindly answered all of our questions and didn't rush us. The Peacecock Room is the most spacious and best room (aside from the bridal suite), elaborately decorated in peacocks. We loved it! The little touches like the handmade soap, a set of wine glasses, and a wine opener made the stay so memorable and special. While the rooms aren't temperature controlled, the electric flameless fireplace kept the room warm. The double capacity jacuzzi was perfect for my hubby and I and even had lights (some of the other rooms have smaller jacuzzi, so be sure to check). The rooms were clean minus a couple of lady bugs and stink bugs (which is too be expected out in the country). Dr. Fauci's assistant stayed here and Manisha informed us of the extensive sanitation process, even the pillows and decorations are quarantined for 6 days! The backyard is well groomed and really spacious with a nice patio and heat lamp, which kept us warm sitting outside in the frigid winter. Our dog loved running around! You can see the stars and constellations really well. It would make a great wedding venue! The Christmas decorations around the property are really nice. The owners really go the extra mile and put a lot of TLC into the property. The 6 course breakfast is delicious and bursting with flavor. Between the veggie quiche, cheesy potatoes, scone, pancakes, yogurt, and fresh OJ, I was stuffed! The fresh butterscotch scone was divine and devoured my mine and my hubby's! The cheesy potato had a nice spicy kick. Everything was so fresh and delicious. All the courses come out at once on a large tray. While my hubby and I chose to sit at the communal table (the chairs are roughly 6 feet apart), you can take the tray up to your room. Manisha and her family greeted us and thoroughly explained the dishes and chatted with us for a bit, even her son made an appearance! The bed and breakfast has a nice bar with wine, cider, and alcohol based on an honor code system. Water and soda is complementary, they even had Coke 0! The complementary fudgy brownies by the breakfast area during the day were sweet and tasty. Again the little complimentary stuff gives this bed and breakfast a nice resort feel. Very relaxing stay and looking forward to coming back!

We were served at an upper level, and anyone who likes to drink a lot might be persuaded to eat at the lower level where the bathroom was. There is an "office" there that has terrible signs touting locally-made potato chips, T-shirts, and other gifts. I hope they're not relying on these as an income stream. Very nice server... with too many to wait on our floor. Service was a bit slow, but you have to accept this as par -- anywhere you go. No worries. I had the Eggs Benedict, a Boozy Hot Chocolate, and the highly-acclaimed "Donut." The eggs were very good, but the potatoes bites were soggy... might have been cooked a minute or two more. The Boozy Hot Chocolate seemed far more chocolate than anything else. Live, and learn. The "Donut" was good, but wasn't what I'd expected. It was more the consistency of French toast, very doughy, and served with whipped cream. The fact that I didn't care for it didn't mean that it's bad. The only thing I'd change in my experience was that I tried unsuccessfully to flag down our server to bring some coffee to me. We ran out of time before the check came (as 5 of the 6 had to go back to work -- yes, on a Sunday) Still, the menu looked interesting and I'd probably come back -- but probably at an off-peak time.

Unfortunately, life threw us a curveball and we had to cancel. We called right away, hoping the hotel might show a little understanding, but instead, we were immediately charged $500. My wife was crying on the phone, even asking if we could at least pay part of it, but we were told no exceptions were possible. I understand policies exist, but sometimes empathy goes further than rules. It's disheartening when a place that should represent hospitality forgets the human side of it. And in fact we were hoping to reschedule our reservations until we saw the charge was already placed.

The guest house is very cozy and homey; yes I would say it is a tad shabby and very much loved-in, but everything is clean and in working condition, the ac worked perfectly, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and the vibe was completely welcoming and warm. Make sure you read all the info on the website, the only TV is in the common area (though there was good WiFi access in the rooms), the only parking is street parking which is free overnight until 9am but $15 for a permit during the day, but this is all made clear on the website, I had no surprises. In fact the owner was very helpful when we had our rental car a night longer than expected and he let us park in his personal driveway for a short time so we could have a leisurely breakfast and not rush to move it. Breakfast is simple but filling and well-cooked, when the pot of coffee is done after breakfast you can always make yourself a cup of keurig, there is always a bottle of wine and a plate of cookies to welcome guests when they return (my only complaint is the cookies are cooked crisp... I like mine chewy!! :P). All-in-all we would definitely return. Amazingly convenient location (5 min walk to the metro which we used daily), comfortable rooms, great service.

From the moment you walk in, the warm lighting and calm, elegant setting create a true retreat feeling--relaxing, intimate, and perfectly set up for an unforgettable dinner. We started with the baked brie, and it was the perfect opener. Warm, creamy, and beautifully rich, it had that comforting, indulgent feel without being too heavy. It was the kind of appetizer that makes you pause after the first bite and think, "Okay, this is going to be special." We also shared a salad that was far better than any "starter salad" has a right to be. The greens were crisp and fresh, but the real surprise was the croutons--light, buttery, and so tender they practically melted in your mouth. Every bite felt balanced, simple in the best way, and clearly made with care. For the main course, we ordered the chicken under brick and the scallops risotto, and both were genuinely memorable. The chicken under brick had a beautifully crisp exterior, with juicy, tender meat underneath--full of flavor and cooked exactly right. The scallops were seared perfectly, with that delicate golden crust and soft, buttery center. Paired with the creamy risotto, it felt luxurious and comforting at the same time. It was the kind of dish you keep talking about afterward because it is that good. Dessert somehow raised the bar even more. The chocolate tart was rich, smooth, and deeply satisfying--pure indulgence. The fruit tart was fresh, bright, and perfectly balanced, with a delicate crust and vibrant flavors that made it feel light and refreshing after such an incredible meal. Both desserts were truly delicious and the perfect ending. The service matched the food and atmosphere: welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. Every interaction made the night feel even more special, and it never felt rushed--just warm and thoughtful from start to finish. And a special mention to our waitress, Rae--the most pleasant, kind, accommodating, and positive soul you can find. Her smiling welcome immediately put us at ease and made us feel so happy to be there. She truly elevated the entire experience. If I can give this place seven stars, I would!

When the Woodley Park Guest House livingsocial deal came up, we did a bit of research on the place and then decided that it sounded like a greta place to stay. This B&B is ranked #2 in DC on tripadvisor's website (#1 is owned by the same company) and I can totally see why they have such excellent ratings. The B&B is exactly what I was looking for. Right on a metro line (red about a block away, unless you take the elevator which is even closer) and had a number of things to do within walking distance. We arrived around 3pm on a Thursday and checked in and was given a quick tour of the place. Our room was the bay window room on the second floor. It was quite nice. After we checked in we went for a stroll around the zoo (three blocks up the road on the right). Then headed down towards Dupont Circle and got some great coffee (Filter) and some gelato! My only complaint is that the boy and I like to sleep in and the walls are pretty thin so we could hear other guests knocking on the doors and talking, but that was a very minor issue.
