I found it strange as I had sent an image and provided dimensions, and had already received a few proposals thru yelp projects based on the photos. It was just a broken glass. I even provided address and asked her to google the building so she can see. Anyways, they tried to send someone same day, however as I was not on-site, they could not go as they REQUIRED someone present even though window was in the common area. We scheduled for Monday. She even asked that I don't proceed with the other bids so they can be sure they provide us one on Monday. I agreed. I drove 1.5 hours to the appt to accommodate the tech for the estimate. 30 mins past the appt time and no one has showed up. I called and the receptionist placed me on hold to inquire with supervisor. She advised, they don't replace broken glass, they replace the entire window altogether. They have a minimum of $1000. The building is from the 1920s. We don't need the window replaced. These are the original casings from the 1920s! The building needs to still remain uniform throughout. I just needed the glass fixed. I wish the first person who called me would have been more knowledgeable or would have inquired first about the service with her supervisor. I also would have appreciated a message to advise that they can't service and needed to cancel appt versus altogether not showing up. I did not get service from them, but I do think people should be aware of their communication and knowledege so they don't waste their time.

They expertly drilled and hung my new modern front door ("blank" mahogany wood, purchased through Home Depot and installed in a pre-existing frame), including a Schlage Encode smart lock. He had all the right equipment to shave it on the sides, and the door hangs perfectly open midway. They installed 2 spring hinges to auto-close, plus weatherstripping, and when there was a small issue with the weatherstripping, he came back two weeks later free of charge and swapped out for an alternative solution. As a bonus, when I asked him for guidance regarding an unrelated window situation and was prepared to pay him to help me solve it, he immediately diagnosed why the window was stuck: the wood windowsill had swollen and was pressing against the window frame, causing the window to not slide easily. He removed the window and helped me repair the situation: something others wanted to charge hundreds of dollars to diagnose and fix! (And he later said "no charge".) Furthermore, as he moved through my house, he happened to notice that some of my inside-door hinges had popped up: told me what causes that, and told me HOW to easily fix it. (PLUS, why I would be smart to tap them down with a hammer myself instead of ignoring it.) Just because he's a nice guy. The man has an eye for door issues, and he is very generous in spirit. He seems to like what he does and genuinely cares about the customer. The cost he quoted over the phone for installing the front door and weatherstripping is exactly what he charged. There were no surprises. And just as importantly, for me: he was able to fit me in on a tight timeline so that I could coordinate with my painter and other contractors to meet the ideal overall project schedule I needed. It's so hard to find someone who is both available on a flexible timeline, and actually good at what they do. 5 Stars PLUS.

Summary: Iriwindale Window's lack of care destroyed the wood floors throughout our entire condo and…read moreled to months of mold remediation. We got new doors and windows from Irwindale Windows installed over a year ago. During the sales pitch we were sold a high quality product that would be carefully installed. Everything changed once the installation started. It became clear from the start that our $15,000 was a small job and a low priority to them. The owner Jackie told us the installation would only take three days, but when I talked to the men working they clearly did not think that was realistic. We soon overheard that they had a very big job starting immediately after ours, and the owner Jackie was rushing the workers to start this job on time. The workers were there all day, barely taking any breaks and clearly rushing around. The final day they were there until around 9pm at night, working outside in the dark to meet the deadline. We got 5 windows and 3 sliding doors installed. Everything was fine until the first time that it rained. Turns out, in their haste to rush through our job, the installers did absolutely nothing to seal the bottom of our sliding doors. As you can see in the pictures, it was literally wide open. No sill pan, no sealant, nothing. Because they had the doors propped up on shims, they could not seal the doors directly to the ground. But because they also did not use a sill pan, the bottom was wide open. So when it rained, the rain outside was literally just pouring into our subfloor. About 10 days after the rain we lifted up a rug and noticed that the floor was wet. We couldn't notice at first because it was beneath the wood, but eventually this water permeated the subfloor in most of our house, and started soaking up into a number of the walls. Because of mold growth, we eventually had to tear up ALL of our beautiful wood floors (honestly one of the main selling points when we bought the condo) and also cut out and replace many lower sections of our walls. Everything had to be treated for mold, sealed up in plastic, then have air purifiers and fans run. Then the actual construction to replace all of the flooring and walls. We were out of our condo for MONTHS. And over a year later Irwindale still refuses to take responsibility for what they did. We were forced to pay entirely out of pocket for the costs of remediation and file a lawsuit - a lawsuit where they are still refusing to take accountability and trying to avoid the massive damages they caused to our home. If you have a massive job with dozens of windows, maybe Irwindale will take their time and properly install them. But if you are just a regular customer who *only" buys $15,000 worth of windows, they couldn't care less about destroying your home or doing a quality installation.
