I contacted multiple contractors in the area to give me an estimate to replace my roof and gutters. I came across American Home Contractors through a google search and their qualifications were above anyone in the area. 154 google reviews with an average of 5.0, GAF Master Elite status, and over 500 projects in the area. The point of contact for our project was David DaVeiga. He was extremely thorough in his initial assessment of our roof. He pointed out some of the big issues that could have posed a problem in the coming months and he gave perfect solutions to fix it. His team was very efficient and impressive. They completed our roof replacement in one day and it came out perfect. The gutters took only a few hours and looked great as well. Even our neighbors were impressed with how efficient and timely the crew was. I highly recommend American Home Contractors! They were a pleasure to work with and we are extremely happy with how our roof & gutters were done.

It's been a pleasure working with the American Home Contractors team. My first meeting with Dave was handled professionally and with care and consideration. This treatment carried over through my entire experience with American Home Contractors. We replaced the old stucco and cedar siding with James Hardie planks and shingles. All of our windows were replaced with new Beechworth Windows. We also replaced all soffit and gutters. Our house looks like a brand new house! We are so happy with this new transformation. AHC completed our project in about two weeks. They are very efficient hard workers, perform quality work, and they are neat and clean. If we had any questions throughout the process, Dave was always available via text or a call to answer our questions. Thank you American Home Contractors! I highly recommend!

American Home Contractors just installed a new roof and the entire experience was superb! Dave DaVeiga was our contact and the thoroughness, professionalism, responsiveness, and quality were way beyond our expectations. He and the entire crew did a fabulous job and were incredibly clean and neat while doing it. We highly, highly recommend them!

WINDOWS PAYING FOR THEMSELVES Last year we bought our…read moretownhouse that has 20 windows that were 25-years-old and quickly realized that we would have to get them replaced because the temperature in our home was not able to be regulated. First we got a $25,000 estimate from a contractor who was going to use the cheapest windows on the market. Then a $46,000 estimate from Renewal by Anderson, which we almost got sucked into. Finally after much research of window brands and companies we contacted AGM Windows for an estimate. Paul contacted us quickly and came out to show us the window he uses and give us an estimate. He was so pleasant and professional to work with and quickly responded to all our questions. We got an estimate for 20 Okna 600 windows, highly rated, for a substantial amount less than the cheap windows the contractor was trying to stick us with. In addition, Paul worked with the HOA for the approval, so helpful! The installation crew was AMAZING...organized, clean, and communicative. The only reason I waited to write this review is because I wanted to see and compare our electricity bill from last year to this year and boy were these windows and company we choose a great decision. Our bill last June was $228 this June $86...now that's awesome and so is AGM Windows ;)

The first time I interacted with AGM Windows was a bit weird, since AGM Windows' website was hacked in 2016. But since that time, there have been no problems getting to his website or contacting the owner, Paul. Paul is still the owner and still personally shows up to examine the windows and to take final measurements. After paying a deposit and signing the contract, Paul orders the windows form his supplier, and when the windows are ready, he sends 1 to 3 people to install the windows, depending on the size of the order and availability of his crew. It should be noted that these crew members have been working with AGM Windows since my first window order. It is good that Paul is able to retain the crew, since they are very experienced and can install the windows quickly and accurately. The pandemic caused supply issues for AGM Windows, so it might take longer to have your windows ready and window prices have gone up (Paul showed me an email by his supplier announcing price increases). However, Paul and his crew still work consistently and expediently to install the windows once they have them from their supplier. Despite the price increases on the windows, AGM Windows' overall project quotes are still lower than those of other window installers (i.e. the ones that advertise on TV, radio, and your local coupon mailer), and AGM Windows does not do sales gimmicks or sales pressures. AGM Windows is a "no frills" and to-the-point window installer. I still highly recommend them.

Aaron came to our house and sold us on Window World of Northern NJ. We signed a contract with Aaron and Window World and gave them half the payment. Aaron eased all our fears and assured us of their work. He explained that in 6-8 weeks we would be scheduled for our install. It has now been over 8 weeks and we are not even scheduled for an install. Aaron proceeded to take our check and we have not heard from him since, even after countless phone calls and texts. In fact we had to call Window World to schedule a measurement, they did not call us. We have now been calling for multiple weeks only to continue to reach an answering service and to never have a phone call returned. The one time we were able to speak to an actual representative our call was transferred to Patrick. We were told Patrick was the manager and he would help us. Instead of helping us, or apologizing and easing our fears about lack of communication and customer service, Patrick continued to try to talk over us and explain that the company did not operate by returning phone calls to customers and that we were not a priority. We were told not to call back, they would call us when the product was ready and they would install. Since that phone call there has been no communication from Window World about when our install will be scheduled or if our product has even arrived. We have since started the process of trying to contact the company again, but alas, we are greeted by the same answering service that tells us they will take a message and someone will return our call. This is our first home, and as first time home owners we are very careful and thorough with any decisions about our home (especially ones carrying a price tag over $10K). By choosing Window World we thought we were going with a company that would back their work and have great customer service. At this point not only are we concerned with the customer service, but also with the work. Thanks to Patrick we understand that we are "not a priority" and if something should go wrong with any of the product that they install on the house we can expect to not get a return phone call and have to chase them down the resolve any issues. At this point we would rather have our money back than run the risk of there being any issues with the install or the product down the line and while we wait for Window World to get around to us and resolve things , damage being done to our home. Thank you Patrick and Aaron for your dedication and commitment to what it is you do. You really let your customers feel how passionate you are about your work. And to think a simple return phone call could have put our minds at ease.

Working with Blue Nail was an exhausting, disappointing, and infuriating experience. Blue Nail…read morelacked professionalism, accountability, and transparency throughout. They made multiple attempts to mislead us and only followed through when faced with the possibility of legal action. Save yourself the time, money, and stress. Avoid Blue Nail at all costs. Blue Nail came recommended, so we reached out for an estimate. Early on, my father felt their team was defensive and difficult to communicate with. I didn't initially see that, so we moved forward. Our home is a Victorian farmhouse with a steep roof and a flat section where a widow's walk once existed. We wanted to restore it and initially asked them to hold off on installing EPDM in that area so we could add the posts ourselves. They declined and instead issued a change order to include the posts in their scope, which we accepted due to time constraints. After signing, we began asking about their installation method, expecting the posts to be properly framed for safety and durability. Once we started asking detailed technical questions, their demeanor noticeably shifted. Shortly thereafter, Blue Nail informed us that they intended to withdraw from the contract, citing permitting and zoning variance concerns. This was a significant red flag. It is the responsibility of any reputable contractor to verify all necessary permits and zoning requirements prior to issuing a formal proposal. We believe they had done this research but were attempting to use technical jargon to intimidate us into backing down. We investigated the variance claims ourselves and found them to be inapplicable. We confirmed with the local building department that a permit could be pulled, which we were more than willing to do. Despite all of this, Blue Nail still tried to walk away from the contract without valid justification. We were prepared for legal action after months of delays and an attempted breach of contract. Although Blue Nail eventually agreed to proceed, work didn't start until September, 4 months after our deposit. Issues: Recurring Leaks: Blue Nail had to return three times to address water intrusion in the same area--raising real concerns about long-term structural damage. As roofing contractors, your main job is to create an impervious barrier between the structure of the house and the elements. This shouldn't be an issue, let alone a recurring issue. Improper EPDM Installation: The membrane over our newly renovated bathroom was not secured to the plywood substrate. My father saw it lifting in the wind, leaving raw plywood exposed to the elements. This is an inexcusable oversight that could lead to serious water damage. We completely gut renovated this bathroom and included many layers of insulation, therefore it is hard to know if there was any immediate damage without opening up the brand new gypsum ceiling. Exterior Staircase: The debris removal process caused deep gouges and scrapes--well beyond surface damage--on our back staircase. A third-floor interior ceiling was also damaged during post installation. Cosmetic Fixes: They repainted the stairs but left a large paint stain on our concrete pad. Minor damage, but emblematic of a careless approach. Dumpster placement: the dumpster was placed on an angle in the middle of the driveway, blocking our cars in the garage making us unable to drive to work. Change Order for Soffits: They discovered extensive rot during the roof removal. We agreed to pay for repairs, but the price seemed unreasonably high. We suspect the quote was inflated due to the contentious nature of our prior interactions.

Within 5 minutes of the consult I was quoted at $20,000 for just the removal of the stone siding, which is only on the front portion of my home. It is roughly a 1,800 square foot home, so pretty modest in size. I was floored at the astronomical cost for just the removal of one side. I obviously cut the consult short and wished them the best.
