It's easy to get in, usually without an appointment. The staff usually friendly, courteous, and very helpful.

I first used them 10 years ago when they were on N Monroe where Hawthorn Bistro is now. The initial local service to get my CPAP machine and supplies was excellent including my mask fitting and a different mask when my first choice was not working. All services and equipment were fully covered by Capital Health Plan. After the initial services, ordering supplies was handled by an 800# and that worked well also. Now, 10 years later, I needed in person service again to get fitted for a new mask because my mask of choice was no longer being made. They are in a different location now, tucked away off Capital Circle and circumstances are different with the current pandemic. You still need to make an appointment but you need to wear your mask when you go and the front door is locked so you will need to knock when you arrive. Worst service ever. Promised a portable oxygenator nearly TWO years ago, they dropped the ball and never delivered. They did not even have approval for such equipment. I called them to pick up the monster machine months ago and all the other tanks, and they have only just responded, saying "Oh yeah, I see a comment in here from March." The most frustrating customer service I have ever experienced in my life time. Wait times over 30 minutes. Disconnected calls or no answer. If answered after a 20 minutes wait time listening to music, the person puts you back on hold. If you are lucky enough to get a person take a message, no one ever calls you back. read more

Their office service is ok, not great but not horrible. My husband and I both have CPAP machines and get our supplies from AHP. We have been overbilled on EVERY bill from them for supplies. Medicare clearly states the maximum amount we may be billed for every item, and I have paid only the amounts Medicare has said we owe. I send AHP letters and copies of my EOBs, yet they continue to bill for the excess monies. I finally had a nice lady from the Medicare Fraud department call them, with me on the line, to get them to reconcile and correct the charges. Of course, on subsequent billings AHP went back to their old ways with overbillings and nasty letters. Two suggestions - (1) do NOT let them charge your credit card or bank account, pay by check after you get the EOB from your insurance, and (2) pay only what your insurance says you should pay, not a penny more. They have sent me at least 10 letters wanting $5.43 additional for mask cushions I ordered last year, can you imagine how much their costs have been trying to get $5.43 they are not due? And they are threatening to affect my credit rating? Ha! read more

This company almost killed my mother. This company almost killed my mother. After ordering Oxygen on Wednesday before Christmas and being guaranteed delivery Thursday it never got delivered. I called Friday morning only to find that they were closed until Tuesday. I asked if they had an emergency delivery service and my answer was they don't have keys where the oxygen tanks are kept they can only make repairs. So now for five days here is my mother with only 2 1/2 small travel tanks that she carries in a backpack which will not handle five days without additional tanks. The woman on the phone said to me in quotations well your mother has an in home oxygenator she can just use that. I said to her so you're saying that my mother has to stay confined in her small apartment at her assisted living during the holidays. Thank God for Hospice I called them explain to them the situation tomorrow they are having a new oxygen company deliver any amount of oxygen she needs tomorrow give her all new equipment and I can call this horrible horrible business and tell them to get every bit of their shit out of my moms room. This is the worst durable medical equipment provider I have ever worked with. I've been on nocturnal oxygen for years, then they up and say I'm not qualified and come pick up the oxygen concentrator. Lincare is the company that ran a pulse ox on me when I qualified for this oxygen back in 2016, which has now merged with American Home Patient. Medicare has 5 year contracts for which they pay to rent the concentrator for 3 years, but the patient is suppose to receive services on the machine for 5 years. Strange thing once Medicare had paid the 3 years and AHP was no longer receiving money they up and decide I'm not qualified. Well folks if I'm not qualified and never was qualified then as you can see AHP billed and collected money from my insurance for a full 3 years. They keep telling me that Medicare guidelines changed in 2013, which I have yet to figure out what that has to do with the fact that I qualified in 2016, 3 years after the guidelines changed based on there own pulse ox testing. So be it I think I'm just either going to be without needed oxygen or find another company that has more competent people working for them. My doctor of course has ordered another pulse ox but I really don't know that I trust this company to do it. Think it may be time for a Medicare appeal and possibly them having to reimburse my insurance. read more

If I could give "0" stars I would! Since September I have been trying to get C-PAP supplies from this place. Run around after run around. Finally, I call myself and everything was supposed to be handled weeks ago. JENNY...was always ON BREAK when I called. Even 10 minutes after she was to start work. My insurance company made a conference call with Jenny and she was immediately defensive when I called her out about NOT DOING HER JOB and allowing this to go on and my not getting my supplies. Jenny then told my insurance company that she refused me as a patient and hung up. My insurance company stated that there would be a notation made regarding the communiqué with them and they would not be recommended; all this because Jenny got held to the mat on her NOT DOING HER JOB. Jenny was constantly acting as if she was doing us, insurance and myself, a favor by even answering the phone. This place needs to be more patient oriented rather than BREAK oriented, or...maybe the company doesn't know Jenny does this; or if they do....SHAME ON THEM FOR NOT TAKING THEIR PATIENTS NEEDS AS A PRIORITY! read more
