Update: March 19, 2020 thank you for coming through as always. A very nice female driver picked me up today as my car decided not to work so she dropped me at Enterprise Car Rental. Given the current situation, she is what I call a fierce hero! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! American Latina is extremely reliable. I felt the need to update this review as a result of the use of their technology; while you're waiting for a driver they send you a text to let you know his whereabouts and estimated arrival times. They honestly deserve NO stars. Their dispatch worker is rude and disgusting. I didn't even get the chance to actually experience a ride with them because she completely ruined the opportunity. They might want to get a new dispatch person if they want people to use their business. She's the first point of contact for their company and she does not represent them well, AT ALL. She was very arrogant as if this company is the ONLY company people can use and she even attempted BUT failed to overcharge me. Dear dispatch worker, There's Uber and Lyft available, as well as other companies. Please humble yourself. Having a business is a luxury in the middle of this health crisis, try to hold on to the few customers you can get. They said to wait 10 minutes I waited almost an hour and when the taxi driver picked me up he stopped by his house to check his mail

On the rare times I've been to Nanuet Mall, it was to be headed to a family barbecue nearby. I took the bus from Port Authority to get to Nanuet Mall. However , when that bus stopped it did not stop at mall as I was accustomed but outside the mall to where you couldn't see the mall unless you looked around a while. Then we usually get a cab. I suggested to my mother we go to the mall to see if we could get a cab. We did that and couldn't find one. We then asked a passerby and she suggested going into Macy's because she told us the cabs don't come in the mall anymore. We went in and a cashier told us about this car service and how to walk to it. We went out and then that same cashier came out to give us the phone number. I called the service and the person who answered got our location and told us 7 minutes. A car was there in 5. We gave the driver the address and he punched it into his GPS. It was less than a ten minute ride. We inquired about returning back and he gave us his number to call when we needed a ride back to the bus stop. Rude, expensive, and unethical charging. STAY AWAY. Often takes longer route.

This company is terrible. Never use them. My wife needed a cab at 6:20am for a 6:45am doctor's appt. I call at 6am and ask for a cab at 6:20 and the guy tells me to call back 5-10 mins before I need the cab as if he has taxis everywhere and available. At 6:23 I call, and he tells me 2 mins. By 6:35am the cab still wasn't here so my wife had to drive herself. Absolutely terrible read more

The fact this company is still operational is beyond surprising. I can't think of a worse possible experience I have EVER had! Between the driver that seemingly "forgot to show up" and the 5-7 mins ETA that turn out to be 20-30 mins, then a ton of rude drivers (not all) who treat you as if you are begging them for their service instead of paying and for some reason they ALWAYS take the longer route!! read more

I was very disappointed with the FLAGRANT DISHONESTY of both the dispatcher and--especially--the driver. As an out-of-towner unfamiliar with the local $6 flat rate, I asked the dispatcher how much it would be. So she took advantage of my obvious unfamiliarity to raise the price to $7. That trick paled in comparison to the driver's multiple lying attempts at extracting yet more money from me. He needed directions and had me help him with the English by entering the destination address into his smartphone. Then I did the same on my own phone so I could be of further assistance with directions. I explained the simple directions to him and mentioned that the trip was less than 3 miles. Trying to squeeze more out of me, he responds, it's 6 miles! So I show him that is not so. On arrival at the destination, he tries more games. Though it's supposed to be a flat-rate $6 trip, and the dispatcher upped it to $7, he says the cost is $8. I point out that the dispatcher said $7. Then I pay him the $7 charge and--though the 7 bills are right there in his hand--he claims I only gave him $6. Upon which I point out his 3rd bold-face lie! Have they no shame!? read more

Worst cab ride EVER!!! Some of the drivers are over charging customers or saying they don't have change and then they'll give you whatever they have on hand. Tonight was the last straw.....I called for a cab ride to Target to get my son school supplies before I take him back to school but the cab driver we got..... pulled a knife on my son. All because he counted the change he was given and said he was short changed. Not all the drivers are like that but that was a real TURN OFF!!!! read more

The worst taxi service ever! I called for a taxi last night (in 20 degree weather) and was told 10 minutes, after one hour they still had not shown up and every time I called I was either put on hold or just hung up on! i will never use them again! read more

PARENTS BEWARE !!! This morning my child was waiting for the school bus and a taxi from this company did a U-turn in my driveway almost hitting my daughters. When I yelled at him to stop and moved in front of the taxi the driver got angry that I was trying to protect my child,flipped me off and after 5 minutes reversed and sped off.I will NEVER use this service and I will inform my community leaders of this action by the taxi driver. Very unprofessional. Drivers charge whatever they feel like charging since there's no set price; and if the price does change even if you're in the same town they don't say anything until they drop you at your location that they charged you more. On top of all this you call the base to find out prices and they leave you on hold or hang up. Also when you call the base for a taxi sometimes they don't show up, and if they don't show up they don't even let you know; you kind of just figure it out after 30 or so minutes even though they told 5-10 minutes would be your wait time. The system they use is a good idea in theory, but they don't actually adhere to it. They use a tablet navigation tracking system, that lets the base know where the cars are, and what proximity they are to customers to be picked up but they don't use it accurately which creates longer wait time for the customer. I was a frequent customer as well as the many people I referred them to, but no more, as of today I will NEVER use them again and I don't recommend anyone using American Latina. read more
