Alpha-Omega Thrift Store has been my favorite thrift store since moving to Saint Augustine three…read moreyears ago. As recently as August of this year, it was still an amazing place to shop. At that time, I noticed a lot of reorganizing and restructuring going on, but the store was still enjoyable and affordable. Unfortunately, as of today (12/20/2025), the store has gone completely downhill. The layout is so unorganized that carts can barely fit down the aisles, making it frustrating just to move around. Even worse, the prices are outrageously high for a place that claims to be a thrift store. Items that were reasonably priced just six months ago are now marked up to the point where I spent nearly $100 on things that used to be inexpensive. What truly disappoints me is that this is supposed to be a Christian nonprofit organization that helps widows find lodging after the loss of their spouse. Seeing political messaging in the store--particularly pro-Israel messaging--felt completely out of place and in direct conflict with Christian beliefs. It left me questioning how and why this direction was taken. Overall, the experience was sickening and deeply disappointing. The store now rivals Goodwill in both disorganization and inflated pricing, and that is not a compliment. I will not be returning. Don't waste your money here. I got a measuring spoon set for a $1. They usually retail for over $20 in boutiques. Some items were expensive in the boutique area but I was not interested in any of those items. I love how they have an area of canned food and supplies for people in need. A nice thrift shop to check out in St. Augustine.

After digging through this mess of a store, actually found a doll I wanted to buy in a crib full of…read more200+ unpriced stuffed animals, etc. Volunteer at register told me the doll is $5 and would not do any better. She claimed a volunteer at the store looks up the prices of everything that comes in and this doll was made in Germany and is probably worth at least $20. (Which is why it was tossed in a bottomless pile of other stuffed animals, and not not behind the counter and priced at $20???) When I tried to take the doll back to the bin and look for another...she refused to let me take it!!! (FYI the last doll I bought here cost 25 cents.) She put it behind the counter and said she would put the proper price on it and put it back out on the floor later. Decided to go back for the doll that afternoon, but doll was nowhere to be found, staff looked behind counter, etc. After explaining to the afternoon crew what happened and who was working, they replied "Oh, that's the doll lady, she's into dolls. She took it home." Long story short, I tried to purchase an item the employee at the register decided she wanted for herself. Therefore, she intentionally overpriced it, lied to my face, and kept it for herself. Such behavior is unacceptable on so many levels as far as fairness, customer service, and the fact that this is a charity organization, raising funds with the sale of donated items. As a long time thrift store shopper, and I guarantee other thrift store regulars will agree, what this sales person did was sneaky, unfair, and unethical. Needless to say I will never set foot in this shop again, and encourage others to STAY AWAY!!!

I had read a lot of negative reviews beforehand but decided to give it a chance anyway. Unfortunately, my experience lived up to those reviews. I encountered multiple rude employees. When I asked a male employee for help, he dismissed me by saying, "I'm busy." At the register, an older white female employee who identified herself as a manager was extremely unprofessional. When I asked for her name, she refused to give it and walked away mid-conversation. She told me that lowering the price would be "taking money away from those who need it," while laughing and chuckling as if this were not a professional work environment. I tried to explain that Goodwill is a nonprofit and that the items are donated to help people in need, but she seemed unwilling or unable to understand that perspective. She refused to adjust the price on donated, used items that were already overpriced. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially for someone who genuinely needed affordable household items. I won't be returning, and I hope management takes customer service and professionalism more seriously--especially when serving vulnerable members of the community.

It was my first time going to this new store, but not returning my money because of the girl talking to the other cashier, she rang up items twice, the Manager even said she identifies herself as a male, what in the hell has that do to her mistakes? I will never go there again. Nothing is organized as small, medium, Large or extra large, plus the shoe's are the same way, it takes hours to shop in an unorganized store with stupid rules and managers telling customers about identity like the girl identified as a male, managers should never speak private information about there worker's. Shoes were dirty and expensive, Goodwill was to help poor people, not Rich people. Very disappointed
