We decided to eat out after we walked to beach and went in the pool. After being in car all day it was amazing to relax in pool.. pool also had tiki bar with great drinks and beer menu! On second day, they were replacing a pipe, had to shut down the water. Took them all day to replace it, and then a bust pipe! It resulted in a disaster, there was no water all day and night. Worst nightmare. The water finally came back on the next day... for a few hours, then water shut off again! This time, I was told that their landscaping guy broke the pipe. It was really bad timing because it was one day before thanksgiving. Good that it only took a couple of hours to fix it this time. At least they did something right by offering partial discount (50% off of that one night). Every employee was nice and friendly except the house keeping lady who did our room. We greeted her, but she never greeted us back, always poker face. She only cleaned the drain in the shower one time, leave the hair in the drain for the rest of our stay. She didn't give us clean towels every day, didn't clean the trash bin in the shower. I never had this bad experience before. We booked the thanksgiving meal at the hotel, the meal was good as a buffet style food. Only one hour to dine, as they rotated the tables every hour. It cost us $50 per person plus taxes and tips, alcohol drinks not included. The meal was good, but I will not do it again. Breakfast not included in the room rate.

It was the perfect size for everyone to move around freely and still have a small dance floor. Also the price is crazy good. You will NOT find a more reasonable deal in town. Bring in your own vendors and you can create a fabulous wedding on a modest budget. I'm not just saying that because I am the proud bride. I'm saying it because it's a recession and fabulous doesn't normally come cheap. And I don't throw the word FABULOUS around breezily. I'm deadly serious. Anyway, you get the place in all it's charm for three days and two nights. Then you can rent it for an extra day for a good price. And really, you just have to get rid of your trash because they clean and do laundry for you. How is that not perfect? Go there because it made my very special day amazing.

When originally searching for a wedding venue we had a few must-haves, which included a location with historical character, in driving distance from Orlando, and located in a town where out-of-state visitors could enjoy exploring. And so we focused in on St. Augustine. I had a good gut instinct about the Sanchez House from the moment I discovered them online, and I must shamelessly admit that I stalked the websites of every couple who had their wedding at the Sanchez House. We quickly booked a visit to the Sanchez House, because they are only able to hold 12 weddings a year due to being zoned in a residential area. We met with the owner, Blake, who shared with us the history of the home, gave tips from other weddings held on the premise, and shared some of his favorite vendors. When we experienced the venue in person, we fell even more in love with the charm that was evident around every corner of the house! The SH offers a brick courtyard, artificial turf front lawn, large gathering room, dining room, kitchen, office, two bedrooms, small one-car garage, and an attic. Not only can you hold your wedding events at the house, but you are able to stay there, as well. This allowed us and our bridal party, 6 in total, to stay at the house. So convenient! After booking the Sanchez House, we decided to extend our celebration into an entire weekend. Our events spanned from 50 to 90 guests, and SH accommodates them comfortably. The house is in an excellent location by the bay and walking distance to historic St. George Street. At the SH, we were able to select our own vendors. We held our ceremony in the courtyard which transformed to the dance floor. The front lawn was donned with a heated tent and tables on the coldest Florida winter day. It even snowed lightly! Guests had the chance to mingle throughout the house in the dining room, gathering room, and balcony. I would note that the parking around the SH can be challenging, but we gave plenty of parking options for guests through our wedding website and social media, and suggested our guests to stay at one of the nearby hotels or bed & breakfasts. I highly recommend the Sanchez House for any couple looking for an intimate St. Augustine venue!

Oh my goodness! If you are looking for authentic paella this is it! The owner Juan is from…read moreValencia, Spain and that is as legit as it gets. We hired them to cater my brother's wedding. He made a HUGE paella which fed 60 very happy guests with a great portion. The week before, they called me to confirm and Juan, the owner, let me know that he would be the chef the day of our event. I warned him that my mother is a very picky woman that's from Spain and that he would have his work cut out for him to impress her. He said he would be up for that challenge as he's from Valencia and has been making paella all of his life. Fast forward to the wedding, when we arrive at the reception space and are greeted by the most amazing smell of paella being cooked. The guests were in awe as they watched the chef finish making his masterpiece before their eyes. I felt bad for the guy as the before mentioned picky Spanish woman had arrived and was standing over his shoulder waiting for her chance! Moment of truth comes and the matriarch of our family tries the paella. Never before have I seen this woman finish her entire meal!! She was so impressed! Phew!! I was amazed at how well it looks. The garden is beautiful in ornamental style. The Oldest House Museum is located in St. Augustine, Florida in St. Johns County, Florida. It is operated by the St. Augustine Historical Society and includes the González-Alvarez House, the Manucy Museum of local history and the Edwards Gallery. The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $8 per person for the guided tour and lasts about 1/2 hour.

Love visiting this location!…read more I've always made sure to make a stop here when I'm visiting St. Augustine. This last visit was no different! Inside is spacious, clean and what's really interesting is that they have informative areas that showcase the distillation process and other fun facts about the distillery! I enjoy coming for their tasting that they offer. While it use to be free of charge local businesses in the area that also had tastings started charging so that makes sense especially with the amount of visitors they get! Luckily it's only $5 dollars and you get a chance to enjoy a variety of their products. There are employees are different stations that give you information on the spirits and mixers they offer while they craft drinks for you to try. Such as a mule with their vodka, a sweet tasting drink with their crafted rum, another with gin and the final stopping point is an old fashioned! If you end up loving any of the drinks, you're able to purchase a bottle there in their gift shop. They also offer to hold any of your purchases for a later pickup time if you don't want to be holding onto your purchase if you're busy visiting and exploring the city. They also provide different paid experiences involving their whiskey. I have yet to try them out but maybe one day I'll make sure to!

The first two were decent, with the second being a step up from the first. The third was our favorite by far, a tiki rum cocktail that actually had a really nice flavor to it. The fourth and final one was a straight vodka pour from an older woman at the last station. She told us that good vodka shouldn't taste like nail polish, which is a bold thing to say right before handing someone a sample that tasted pretty much exactly like acetone. A couple of us couldn't even finish it. The staff overall were super friendly though, and it was genuinely cool getting to go behind the scenes and see all the big machinery in the distillery. Now the gift shop at the end is a different story. Everything was overpriced, and their clearance section was almost insulting, with maybe $2 knocked off the regular prices. We won't be buying any of their products, but for $5 the tasting itself was a fun little experience worth checking out if you're in the area.
