Broken Anchor is a Navy Veteran owned winery located conveniently right off of Hwy 41 in Acworth…read more A wide open, bright space with lots of natural light from the strip mall windows in the front. The space is clean and comfortable but somewhat underwhelming. The wine is made on sight. There is a wide selection of varieties to choose from on top of a full bar featuring crafted cocktails as well as small beer list. None of the wines I had were anything to get too excited about but all definitely drinkable. The cocktails I felt were very well done. This place boasts a very nice whiskey selection making it more of a bar than a winery in my opinion. There is also a full food menu. During our visit we had the bruschetta which was decent. Definitely good enough to entice me to come back and try more of the menu. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. They all seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and happy to be there. Good service always goes a long way in my book. Overall I would give this place a 3.5/5 on my inaugural visit. The wine was just fine but the cocktail program more than makes up for it and I am curious to explore more of the food menu.

Normally, I visit the Post for pool and cheap drinks…read more This was the very reason I stopped at this Post, except for a bunch of cool old Bingo experts suckered me into spending $30-$40 on bingo. Approaching the door, this building was a lot larger than the typical Posts I frequent. As I opened the door, I saw 1000s of square footage and rows and rows of tables, being quickly filled by bingo players. As I stood with my mouth wide open, this frail elderly woman basically told me to move my ass out the way so she could by her bingo books and get a good seat ha-ha! I laughed and asked her what I needed to do. She told me to take it up with the bingo book sellers - meaning she had no time for this newbie. I smiled and let her in front of me. After she bought the winning bingo book :), I talked to some friendlier elderly women, who helped get me my necessities and even helped during game time. By the time I stepped out the line, I knew how to play, who to ask if I had any questions and made 3 new fellow women friends! Clearly, I didn't win because "stuck-in-her-ways" took the opportunity from me, but I would be lying if i told you I sat next to a stranger. I found a seat next to her and began to ask questions just to irritate her :D Moral of the story, play bingo with the old folks. It's a joyous moment to live in!

The last guy actually had me in tears laughing. He was great!! The 3 that weren't funny was more than just not funny they told jokes that I didn't think were appropriate for the audience and stuff that I personally don't think should be made into jokes. Suicide is not a laughing matter. Especially having people in the audience that it has effected in such a life altering way.. I just don't think that should ever be a joke. Religious jokes can be funny to a small degree but the lady from last night took it too far and it was very distasteful. There are sooo many things you can joke about but those are categories imo you should just stay away from. I go to the comedy catch in Tennessee and I die laughing Every time I am there. I love to laugh and have a good time. I don't know if the comedians from last night (that were not funny) were regulars or not but I hope not. I'd like to come back.
