But to be fair to me I was born in 55 and remember my parents saying how much prices have raised over the years. I ordered my steak very rare. The only way you can get it to me too rare is if you don't wave it in the smoke before plating it. It came out perfect. A nice big ribeye. It came with a baked potato,with butter sourcream and cheese, corn and a dinner roll. All were cooked well. The potato was smaller than I was used to, but then I don't need all the extra carbs. The ratio of corn to steak was great. I did feel for 22 bucks a sliver of dessert would have been a nice touch. My server was good. The guests were friendly. But not as friendly as those at the Ramona post. I have never sat alone at the Ramona post. Strangers have always invited me to sit with them. Perhaps covid has ruined that. I had the breakfast with crispy hash browns and for a $1 more, I upgraded my toast to a small side of biscuits gravy. Honestly, I thought the meal was a three star affair to 3.5, but I upped it a star on the account that, even though I was a stranger in the mix, everyone from the bar keep, veterans, patrons, my lovely server, and the local biker club made me feel at home, therefore comfortable. This was very important to me because I felt very out of place when I showed up. The omelet was good but a little on the cold side given it sat at the makeshift pass for a bit. The singer server at the time got slammed by a large unexpected crowd, so patience was in order. The eggs were well prepared and it came with a very good amount of chewy flavorful bacon and melted cheese. Seasoning was good, but I added some simple black pepper because that is just the way I roll. The hash brown came with a crispy exterior and was soft center. They tasted good, especially with a couple of serving from the "Cholula" hot sauce they offer in the table. The biscuits and gravy were pretty good. I liked the biscuits given they were fluffy yet semi dense and had a light crispiness on their exterior. The offer a mild flavor which balanced well with the savory sausage gravy a top. The gravy came with tender bits of country breakfast sausage, and other than the gravy needing a little seasoning, it was good. This VFW is much larger than it appears from when you first arrive. The amount of inside seating is modest which include a good size bar, but they also offer a lot of outside seating, including a portion of the patio that offers a terrific view of the valley below and onward to the coast. It was a good breakfast, but like I said, it was an even better friendly bunch of people at this VFW: the cornerstone on what they do so well. They treat people like people should, like equals.

Unfortunately, that was not the case, and the heat made the event very uncomfortable. I understand that this is an older building; however, maintaining and updating the facility can make a significant difference in the overall guest experience. The condition and appearance of the venue gave me the impression that there has been very little investment in improving the space or creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for guests. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience. When people are paying to attend or host events at a venue, I believe a certain level of comfort, cleanliness, and upkeep should be expected. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this location unless significant improvements are made.

Our three fundraisers each year are: The Christmas Home Tour, The Attic Treasures, and The Spring High Tea. This building is simply rented out to these private businesses for their own shows. Anyone can rent this historical building for a nominal fee. Please refer to the Alpine Woman's Cub Website for additional information. The Alpine Woman's Club is comprised of dedicated, local volunteers who maintain and preserve this beautiful iconic building. It was originally established in 1899 as the town hall, and is now at the center of our wonderful small community. Most importantly, the Alpine Woman's Club gives back to our neighborhood by providing yearly scholarships, to deserving high school residents!

I and my friends went to the craft fair, walked into the front door, and noted that the three women staffing the cash register and front door we're not wearing masks and we're letting in anyone who did not have a mask on. when I inquired as to why there was a mask mandate on the invitation printed prominently that they had sent to me and why none of the staff was wearing masks? They looked like deer caught in the headlights, said nothing, did nothing and looked at the floor. My friends and I left immediately, bought nothing and we will not shop this craft fair again. Shame on the women's club of Alpine for false advertising and not looking out for the safety of their invited guests.

Half the vendors were enthusiastic, the others couldn't be bothered to acknowledge me or care about what they were selling. I actually offered to watch a booth so the owner could take a bathroom/refreshment break. I sold two items when she was away too. Food was ok, leaving condiments out gave me anxiety for health reasons. We had a bratwurst with extra curry ketchup, "Spaetzle" which tasted like butter noodles and a huge potato pancake. I wanted a pretzel but realized it wasn't homemade so I passed. My friends enjoyed two cups of the Glühwein each. Probably the highlight of the evening was the children's performances. So cute and festive!

This review is specifically for the Monster Truck War event. Tickets were so much cheaper than the Monster Jam, so it was very appealing to take my son. I purchased the $40 VIP ticket. A complete waste of money. There was nothing VIP about our experience. There was no reserved seating. The ticket was supposed to get you into the Pit Party a little early and early to grab your seats. The problem was there was no one checking tickets, so everyone arriving at the same time was going into the pit party and saving their seats in the front rows. I could have had my same seats and go to the pit party with a regular $15 ticket and no one would have known the difference. They were doing rides on Monster Trucks. We were standing in line and the announcer kept promoting the rides on the loud speakers for $15 a person. When we got our chance to ride, we were told it was $20 and that the announcer was wrong. The announcer literally said $15 again while I was questioning it, at I was told it's $20 no expections. If you have a wheel chair or a stroller, good luck. Everything is dirt and broken asphalt in all of the seating and walking areas. If you are in the seats closet to the track, it's the worst. Very hard to walk without falling. The Monster Truck show it's self was ok, except for the cloud of dust that covered the seats when they did donuts. Be sure to cover your face. Overall, it was just not enjoyable. I would rather spend the extra money to watch the Monster Trucks at Snap Dragon next time they are here.

I stooped on by and was greeted by the bartender. I forgot her name at the moment but she was very nice. This particular location has only been open for about 3 or 4 years. The inside is very nice and there are screens all over the place. If you are a member the drinks are about 3 or 4 dollars. I will definitely be stopping by here, as I live in Lemon Grove. Thank You grandpa for initiating me to become a member, and for serving our country.

I always enjoy stopping in and getting a couple beers or something to eat which is delicious by the way. Joys bloody Marys, and Josies good food. What more can you ask for?
