TWO WHEELS vs MUSCLE CARS When mini motorcycles and scooters take over the runway it's a sight to see. Around Fall (Oct), my friends host an event all weekend and one of those weekends would be here to race two wheels. Not just any two wheels, mini motorcycles and scooters with modz. Yup, one of them raced a muscle car and was 1 second behind - how impressive is that. There are two sides. Spectator Side and Racing Side. It's about $20 either side. I was on the Racing side with my friends. Tents and bbq were setup - it literally was like a tailgate party of us representing the mini motorcycles and scooters crews. Races were fun to watch. No shade on the bleacher side so wear a lot of sunscreen. It was def a different kind of fun. The typical crowd their.. uhm.. east county types. So I felt awkward at first. But then you get over it because it's all about the races.

Great place to watch some racing. It's dirt cheap and they sell food and merchandise.

The 1/4 mile dirt track that kicks dirt and dust all over you and your beer may be a bit different than the track at Cajon but Barona is a blast and for $10.

I have…read moresome friends that participate with their bikes out here, but- hubby's friend stages here, since he has worked on some of the car motors. Seems like, if you're a spectator- you'll enter thru the right side gate and drive along a compact dirt road to find parking. Once parked- you'll trek on dirt to the first set of bleachers (on the right side of the drag strip) But, once you cross over the paved staging lanes - you'll trek can access additional bleachers- the newly remodeled bathroom building and the snack shack. We arrived later in the morning- think by 10am. Feel free to walk around and check the cars (motorcycles- depending on the event you're attending) lined up for their races. Or walk by the trailers, to Looky Lou. The snack shack offers simple items. Hot dogs- which were huge! Nachos, fries, hamburgers, root beer floats, drinks. They do accept card at the snack shack. There's no shade provided- so, be mindful of that. Luckily out visit was very gloomy- which worked for me. Still brought some sunglasses. The speaker system works amazing. What I nearly choked on was the entrance fee. There's no price signage as you approach the entrance. It's $20 per person! (Adult?) I wonder if there's a price difference for kids? Guess, I assumed it's per vehicle?

It was a hot weekend but there was plenty of shade at the top of the Ampitheater. This venue is a great place to listen to live music. The sound was great and there was plenty of seating. Check the website because it may vary depending the event but I would suggest bringing a pop up of sorts and some lawn chairs. The bottom half of the Ampitheater is stadium type seating, essentially concrete seats which get very hot with the Temecula heat. If you plan on sitting in those seats I would suggest bringing a seat cushion for comfort as well as protection from burning your bum, and a hat. Overall a really neat venue.

This year the concert series runs from June 1st to the last one on July 27th. Gates open at 5pm and the concert starts at 7pm. This is a beautiful outdoor arena located on the grounds of the Temecula Community Recreation Center and next to the Ronald Regan Sports Park. There are several rows of tiered seating with a grassy area which is wide enough to fit a beach chair for comfortable seating. At the top, above the tiered seating levels is a grassy area where you can lay down a blanket and spread out. There is also easy handicap access and seating. No alcohol or pets are allowed. There is lots of parking. These concerts are very popular and fill up quickly. Get there early to grab your spot, bring a picnic dinner, and enjoy the outdoor setting while waiting for the concert to start. The audience is filled with young and old, and a lot of families. There are usually snacks and drinks for sale, but not anything for a full meal. I think last night the vendor was Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees and Smoothies. Last night the band was Smokin' Cobras, singing old time rock and roll, a little bit of Johnny Cash, Beach Boys, Swing, and a lot more. Everyone gets into the music and there was a lot of dancing. It was fun, fun, fun! The seats face west and the sun is right in your face until it sets. It does get hot during the summer time. Bring sun glasses, a hat, or an umbrella for shade. Once the sun goes down, the evenings are usually quite nice. Last night was a bit chilly. Temecula is such a great place to live! Getting into the parking lot was simple, and I prepaid for general parking, which cost $45. I made a point to park near the exit, and it definitely paid off because leaving after the concert was quick and hassle-free. Security was efficient and well organized. Bag checks were conducted quickly, and the lines moved smoothly. Once inside, the arena was easy to navigate with clear section signage throughout the venue. There were plenty of restrooms and food and beverage vendors conveniently located around the building. The arena feels modern, well-maintained, and relatively new. I was seated in Section 112, and the view was excellent. The interior layout is well designed, and it seems like there really isn't a bad seat in the house when it comes to viewing the stage. The stairways are wide and not overly steep, making it comfortable to move around before, during, and after the event. Overall, this is a great venue for concerts. Easy access, efficient operations, comfortable seating, and good sightlines made for an enjoyable experience. I would definitely return for another event.

*I Got the Power*…read more Are you ready for some Baseball? The Palms Springs Power is a stacked team of Collegiates from all over the United States...so you're going to see a really good team -- undefeated 4 weeks into the season and they're 16-0 I'm a former player (and Pitcher) and follow all baseball very closely so I know a good team when I see one. I've already been twice and considering buying Season Seats ($100 = 28 games) Otherwise, General Admission is $10 for Adults and $5 for kids. Last game I scored on the "Power Pass" for $16 = one ticket, a hot dog, a non-alcoholic beverage and bag of chips. I intend to attend more games because they pack lots of fun inside this little stadium that kinda reminds me of a High School Baseball Field but with a Minor League feel & vibe and an exciting team & Field of Dreamers. My 1st game was FREE for a special promotion and went with wifey...but I had so much fun, I came back the following week solo. I don't really eat hot dogs these days (tho I love them) and enjoyed theirs so much after game one, I had another one at game two :) I was told by the nice guy at the ticket counter that the Chicken Caesar's Salad (only $7) is really good too...so instead of a 3 dog night, I'm already planning on that salad next time. Wednesdays are $4 Margarita Night and I heard they're flavorful and strong...but since I was driving it was strictly h2o. This is an Independent Summer League...and this is the Desert so be prepared to get a little heated because 1st pitch is at 7pm and usually still 100 degrees. But there's misters throughout the stadium that does its thing...and the weather cools down halfway into the game. I promise. They play nearly every Tuesday & Wednesday and Friday & Saturday nights during late May thru July 19th (then playoffs??) Lots of volunteers on hand throughout the stadium...and it's so cute & helpful to see all the children walking around the grandstand the last 2 innings collecting trash from all the fans. Lots of great fun & music, free giveaways and a raffle too while enjoying the game. And if the Power scores at least 9 runs, everyone in attendance gets 2 free tacos -- courtesy of Jack in the Box -- if that's your thing. And so far, the Power have been putting up at least 9 nearly every game :) Plenty of free parking in the lot surrounding the stadium...and street parking too on Barista. Looking forward to more exciting games & victories and making some more new friends...at-the-ole-ballgame :-) {{{Big High Fives}}} {{{Fist-Bump}}} Grandslam Power Fans *from their Website The Palm Springs Power are a summer collegiate baseball team playing all games at Palm Springs Stadium.
