I found Veterans Rebuilding Life (VRL) on Google and its been an amazing experience. They are very respectful and understand the trials of a military veteran in regards to the time consuming process of applying for Veterans Affairs (VA) resources and services. I was able to get some emergency food, clean clothes, socks, hygiene products as well as opportunity to work gigs to make money through Veterans Rebuilding Life (VRL) non-profit's huge list of supporters. I feel blessed to have stumbled on this non-profit that really does what they say to change the narrative of how veterans are being treated in this country. We loved it and we were ready to book until we met Jay. He was very kind when we asked about the dates and very funny. He explained to us that they only took cash payment and we did not have cash at the moment, but we really wanted the date. When we arrived back with cash about 20 minutes later there was a smell of cigarette smoke as soon as you walk in. Now it was there when we first arrived but I ignored it. This time the smell was so potent, so I asked him if smoking was allowed in here because it smells like smoke. He said no and proceeded with an attitude. I'm assuming that question set him off. He called the woman that he was with, during our contact signing process, telling her to bring someone else down. When asked his opinion about a color he answered my aunt with disrespect. He was slamming down his phone and etc. What actually made us leave was, when we asked how much time we have to set up, he said 90 minutes. I proceeded to ask if there is any more time that we could have and he said only 30 minutes extra, "you're not going to be here all day." That was it, we left. I told his wife to tear up the contract and proceeded to let her know how rude he was. It's a beautiful space but his attitude is not worth all that money we're spending. If a simple question is going to offend you and cause you to lose a paying customer then maybe this is not for you!

I was the MC for the event and while someone was making remarks the man came yelling at the band telling them they have five minutes to finish. It was 9 pm and they literally shut the lights off while we were gathering our things. I have never been to a place that was so disrespectful. I don't recommend this place at all. If I could give it zero stars I really would.

They have a small parking lot available in the back, round tables and/or rectangular tables are provided, tablecloths and/or chair covers can be purchased for an additional charge, upgrades like lounge style high tables, fancier chairs, photobooth and decorating services are available as well. I will say compared to the other places we checked out, Skylight was very well maintained and modern looking with nicely painted walls and contemporary mirrors. The bathrooms were super clean and this location had a small kitchen with a window, which was perfect for our bartender to serve drinks. The price was also affordable and they provide clean up for you. The reason why I didnt give 5 stars is bc of the owners mother in law (the decorator). She was seen at my event on multiple occasions lingering around and I was informed she asked for food. Really?!... Honestly, I would have preferred to not have her in the background of my pictures and clearly in my videos as well. It was tasteless and I would have respected a check in here and there not hawking around like we were throwing a children's party. Oh and the icing on the cake... she threw out our custom engraved champagne glasses bc she was in a rush to clean up. Overall my party was a success and my MOH and mother decorated the hall beautifully within the 2 hour (prior to party time) slot they were given. There was enough room for a photobooth, DJ, cake table, main table, tables for 60 guests and there was still space left for a few people to buss the Electric Slide.

I began in an acute phase, seeing her on a weekly basis, as well as 3 other group therapy sessions per week, to now only seeing her, once a month. The entire third floor staff is extremely professional and this facility has been truly monumental with my journey in recovery.
