A new mattress isn't something that you purchase too many times in your life, so when the time does come it's nice finding a local family owned place that has all your needs. My wife and I headed out last night (9/2/16) to checkout what American Mattress had to offer. We were welcomed by Bill, a salesman who has been with the company for ten years. We had our two young daughters with us and he made sure they were perfectly situated in some bean bag chairs and found a Netflix program to keep them occupied while Mommy and Daddy tested out the mattresses. Bill made us feel very comfortable and was nonintimidating...he kind of just let us check everything out and was there to answer our questions as they came up. We really liked the selection...they had every big name brand represented, from Simmons to Serta to Tempur-Pedic to Sealy, etc. Although it wasnt our plan to buy on that visit, we found what we were looking for in a Serta and decided to take advantage of the killer Labor Day deals! Now, we just can't wait until the mattress is delivered next week! I highly recommend this store and will definitely be a returning customer. read more

After shopping several stores I came into American Matresss and was greeted by Ben the business owner. Ben could not have been more helpful and was indeed very helpful in picking out a mattress! Ok here is an update regarding ONLY the hybrid mattress, iComfort by Sealy. DO NOT BUY IT! 6.5 years later the mattress doesn't perform at all like it did when new. The 25 year warranty (which I can find NOWHERE in writing) winds up to be 10 years, and ONLY if the bed has compressed by 3/4". I was told to run a nylon fishing wire across the bed to see the dip and measure, to save myself the mandatory $79 fee to have a paid consultant come to your home to do the same. If the impression is 3/4" or more they are to honor a new mattress. It was 1/32" above 3/4". Enough said. What a waste of money for 6.5 years. Got to Puffy.com and buy their bed. Holy wonderfulness! What an amazing bed. The Royal Puffy was less today than this bed 7 years ago. It is made in America, all non-toxic memory foam and materials, with a free body pillow. And the WARRANTY IS FOR LIFE. AND IN WRITING. AND A 100 day trial. If you don't like it? They refund your money immediately and donate the bed to a charity. read more

This is a clearance store that carries all the norms but at a better price. We went to this one and another near home and they were off by over $100- and free delivery. Needless to say we bought from them. They were very attentive and seemed to know what they were talking about. read more

8 years ago I bought a Tempur-Pedic mattress from American Mattress. Recently I've been noticing it's sagging a bit and remembered that tempur-pedic's come with really good warranties. Having moved three or four times since my purchase, I had no paperwork to submit a claim. I assumed there would be absolutely nothing they could do but called on a whim just to ask. I was lucky to get Bill on the phone. He didn't even work there 8 years ago and stood for nothing to gain from his hard work but still went out of his way to research my purchase. He mailed me copies of everything that I needed to submit a warranty claim in record time, too! Outstanding personal service and best pricing. Bill and ownership are second to none. Honest, candid, professional. Savy recommendations that we didn't expect, but now love. We bought here in the middle of last year and waited to post a review because we wanted to allow the mattress to work itself in and use the recommended bed stand. Now that we've have used the mattress and bedstand with adjustment features of back support, leg lifting, subtle massage vibration [we call this our geriatric bed stand! :) ], we positively love it. Went there looking for basic guest bedroom mattress after going across the street to the other mattress store. Told sales guy what we wanted. He said here is one and here is another one. Laid on first one, sold. It was 50% off original price. We couldn't pass it up. We were not looking to spend that much on guest bedroom mattress but it was nice. And we want our guests to sleep well. Best part, this sales guy says he can strap any mattress on any car. He sure did. The mattress is home and safe. Thank you Bill for fast efficient friendly service. I purchased an expensive Tempur-Pedic mattress here roughly seven years ago. My experience at the time was great, though I never wrote a review. I loved the mattress, but recently began experiencing problems with the mattress sagging in the middle (which is not supposed to happen with these types of mattresses). I wasn't entirely sure what to do as so much time had passed. I contacted American Mattress who helped me with submitting a warranty claim to Tempur-Pedic. I followed the process put forth on Tempur-Pedic's website and after a quick email exchange where I provided some additional photos I received approval. Just today a brand new mattress was delivered. When you spend ~3500 dollars on a mattress you expect it to last. It's wonderful American Mattress has been in business for so long and is there to support you for a first purchase or to rectify issues nearly a decade later. I wouldn't do business with anyone else! Purchased a Serta I Series Mattress set- paid $1800.00 in March 2014. Sales man did his job and assured us we would receive good service. Delivery was great. Within 6 months the mattress looks like is is 10 yrs old and sides have broken down. Their answer- take a string, old it on either side and the "sag" has to be 1 1/2in. then they will come out. Now 20 months later, the mattress look like moles has dug around, more high and lows spots than moletown. Still no help. Manager told us we sleep too heavy. Not sure how you do that but would not recommend this product. read more
