My wife and I headed out last night (9/2/16) to checkout what American Mattress had to offer. We were welcomed by Bill, a salesman who has been with the company for ten years. We had our two young daughters with us and he made sure they were perfectly situated in some bean bag chairs and found a Netflix program to keep them occupied while Mommy and Daddy tested out the mattresses. Bill made us feel very comfortable and was nonintimidating...he kind of just let us check everything out and was there to answer our questions as they came up. We really liked the selection...they had every big name brand represented, from Simmons to Serta to Tempur-Pedic to Sealy, etc. Although it wasnt our plan to buy on that visit, we found what we were looking for in a Serta and decided to take advantage of the killer Labor Day deals! Now, we just can't wait until the mattress is delivered next week! I highly recommend this store and will definitely be a returning customer.

When we went back, he was less than helpful. I had asked if we could return and he said yes, $250 fee. When we went back he said bed frame was not returnable. We don't like the adjustable frame. I feel like he took advantage of us because we are old. We got another mattress, which is also too hard for us. Went to mattress firm in Crystal lake and talked to Tim. He was very nice and wanted to fix the problem for us. Unfortunately we would have had to spend more money and just couldn't do it. So we have a mattress and adjustable bed frame that we don't use and it cost us $2400! While Tim was nice, I would not recommend Mattress Firm to anyone!

It can be extremely uncomfortable to not meet the prices a sales person wants for the time they spend working with you. Let me say, I was presently surprised by the very "human" approach at this location. I felt respected, even though my purchase was not going to be a big commission payment for the sales rep. Yesterday was a super cold day and everything was icy and unpleasant, but our rep, Donald, helped get our mattress strapped down and kept a cheery, welcoming disposition the entire time. Thank you, Donald, for your help and for making us feel appreciated. I intend on coming back when we redo our guest bedroom in the future. This was a notable experience - best I've had in a while!

We choose the middle one b/c we liked it best. We scheduled the delivery on a weekend day so we could be there. About 3 weeks after purchase. It was delivered in a Steinhafels Truck- 3 workers. They called just before arriving. They were polite and careful. They ser it all up and checked that all the features worked. It was a pleasant experience so far. We did get the 4 yr. warranty at a reduced price too. I hope we never have to use it. If we do, I'll post up another review LOL.

Within a month, the cheap furniture paper they use to cover the frame on the armrest has already broken. Customer service refuses to stand behind their product due to the fact we didn't purchase the protection plan. I could understand if we called in after 6, or even 3 months, but nope no warranty or standing behind your product at Steinhafels! Avoid this shady company at all costs because they do NOT take care of their customers!

I ended up returning to them to purchase a beautiful Amish bookcase which I now enjoy as well. Wait times are a bit long as it's coming from the manufacturer but considering the furniture has some customization for fabric, etc, I didn't mind.
