Blvd. in the midst of the Auto Mall to have an identifiable storefront. Some months ago, Dear Hubby and I stopped in there, which is when we learned of the nearby warehouse location. I enjoy both Westlake Village locations, with the store having more of a boutique feeling, and the warehouse having lots of merchandise from which to pick. The prices are generally terrific! They do feature seasonal merchandise to inspire and fill in accessories to boost your home or business décor. They also keep a large stock of Christmas items, should you ever need them at any time during the year. I tend to end up with a goofy smile on my face checking out the different items that bring color, whimsy, and cheer. Right now they are Bunny-Central with lots of charming Easter bunnies in various forms. The location can be tricky to reach if you're not comfortable with traffic circles. Shoulder on and you'll find seasonal inspiration, plus floral options for days. It's just an adventure to wander in the many rooms inside. Lots of free parking, too.

Yesterday, I went to this location, and the selection of decoration was satisfying. When i went to pay for my items, the employee, Stephanie, was very blunt. I tapped my card, and forgot to put my pin, and she demanded i finish the process so I could receive my receipt. I also noticed that there was a decoration that someone had returned, and I ask Stephanie if she could hand me the decoration, and she made the manager hand me the item. When I declined the decoration, the manager politely took the item back. Shortly after, someone dropped a glass plate, and she, again, demanded they move out of the way so that she could clean up the shattered glass. Clearly, she was very impolite.

I heard her say some stupid stuff for a manager, just after the Covid scare, "where is everyone getting their money from", because a Mexican family was buying a lot decorations for a party!. On another occasion during the day & the lines were long", doesn't anyone work anymore!. Just yesterday I had a $45 order, all I had was a hundred on me, the cashier asked if I had something smaller, I did not, she called "V" over & she asked the same question, I said NO, sorry. She said I would end up with a bunch of $1's, I said no problem, she came back with like 50 $1's & some $5's - she told the cashier, the RULE is you have to use the $1's first. Well the cashier did not listen to her & gave me $5's. As I was walking out, I swear she went into a victory dance. (Not knowing I got $5's instead of $1's) I am contacting corporate - that was the final straw. Really "Rule", she sounded stupid, that's the RULE. Imagine a manger behaving that way.

I will say the music was pleasant, the selection okay, and the store was clean, but they need to understand that they're missing out on certain communities of people. The first, us Neuro Spicy brained people/autistics. Not a single sign whatsoever on what's where, what's down the aisle, nothing. It becomes very overwhelming and stressful. The second group of people? Any and all with a bad neck. Not having signage, forces us to look down each and every aisle before going in it, causing someone like me with a birth defect and cervical instability to become very dizzy. Yes, I could have asked for help, but I chose to familiarize myself with the store. Not realizing years and years since I've been in one, they still don't have any signs at the end of their aisles. Is it laziness? I have no idea, but as a highly creative in many areas, I'm done with Hobby Lobby. As an art store, GET CREATIVE, and put up some signs.

Both my husband and I fell in love with Japanese design and craftsmanship a few years ago on our first trip to Japan. Since then, we've been drawn to various Japanese shops and stores around LA. There are a couple great shops for housewares around southern California - but we never found a shop that carried Japanese made furniture. My husband happened upon Ookkuu's website while looking for lighting - and we were shocked to find that they carried a number of items by famous Japanese architects and industrial designers that we'd never imagined we'd find in the states. We're lucky to have this shop in South Pasadena - I don't think there's a shop like it elsewhere in the states. Their showroom is on the second floor of an office building, don't be fooled - they love walk-ins! The showroom is small - but they carry quite a few of the items from their website. It's amazing what they can fit in there. It's definitely worth a visit to see these pieces in person. They also have a few small items like glassware, incense, plates and paper lanterns. They get new pieces in pretty regularly - so it's nice to go back often. Can't say enough great things - we'll be back when we decide to make our next purchase!

These two truly went above and beyond customer service to help me. Don't be deterred by the "create an account" on their site. It turned into an interesting way for them to know who I was before visiting, plus it let me preview all of the prices. It feels so wonderful to know that people who care so much about quality and functional design are actually within reach. ;)

Stumbled on this gem when I was looking for another store in this strip mall that has closed. A…read moredress in the window caught my eye so I ventured in. The dress I saw was an anomaly. Just a couple items of clothing and jewelry in the front display cases. This is a home furnishings consignment shop and a well curated one at that. The furniture was gently used, even the pieces that seemed dated looked good. So if you have a flare for 60s, 70s or 80s decor, you'd be able to fined some nice pieces here. Beyond the larger pieces, like display cases, dressers, bookcases, there were quite a few end and nesting tables, ottomans and sets of chairs and bar stools. Rather than stalls for each seller, the merchandise is arranged into "scenes." Living rooms, children's area, entertainment outdoor items and running throughout are various lamps, while cool chandeliers and other light fixtures hang down from above. Plenty of decor items, paintings, faux plants and kitchen items are also available. Today, I spotted some wigs on head forms, a bedazzled, rechargeable lighted vanity mirror, a lovely orbital decanter on a matching glass resting plate, and some cool wall clocks. We are hunting for more versatile and interesting storage pieces, and have tried other shops from Agoura to Santa Barbara since, but none lived up to the inspiration of this gem. Prices are very fair, and I appreciate the artfully repurchased items, too. Now that we've learned of its existence, we'll definitely be returning!
