My favorite piece from Pat, I waited so long for something just like it!

Aubergine is my GO TO antique store. I mainly purchase furniture, but have bought everything from artwork to clothing there too. Pat, the owner, is so helpful and has helped me furnish my house with high quality pieces that have and will continue to stand the test of time. If I ever need anything for the house, my first stop is Aubergine!

3-D pieces, a blast from my past pieces, like It from the Addam's Family. The vintage metal pieces in this booth are amazing!

I love everything about Aubergine from the people to the ambience and design to the shopping experience. Beautiful, eclectic pieces at reasonable prices. It's hard to leave without something in my hands, like a vintage table, a wooden rooster or a metal sign. The wood, glass, metal mixes are abound. I have been up and down the coast antiquing, and Aubergine is a special treat. I highly recommend a visit.

I really liked the CONTENTS of this store A LOT..... esp. for the likes of Simi Valley. They had all kinds of antique, or at a minimum, antique-looking things, running the gamut from furniture, lighting fixtures, books, kitchen stuff, all the way down to jewelry. I saw some thick (and very heavy) ceramic colored mixing bowls there, just like my mom used to have. Made me smile. I never saw anyone else with them 'cept my mom. I really liked some of their crystal bowls and other decorative pieces. The furniture was nice, too. What probably would have been 4 stars but got knocked down to 2 instead is because I was made to feel like I was a known and convicted criminal and had to be watched with my every move. While I was not being singled out, or who knows, maybe I was, there was a man following those of us walking through the store. It's not like he asked if we needed help, he stayed right there as long as there were people in any given room, and wherever we moved, so did he. My 61 years of age has handed me the experience to know when I'm being watched. The more he was trying to be inconspicuous, the more obvious it was what he was doing. The sad thing is that while he wasted his time with me or anyone else he was watching, he also lost a sale from me. I don't like feeling like I HAVE TO BE watched. It's insulting, frankly. To mistrust a customer because they've now entered your premises, put in cameras like most other stores, that'll take care of the problem..... but don't walk around following us like we're going to steal something. Those of us who are law-abiding citizens won't mind cameras, but to follow us around, it's more invasive and insulting than a camera. If you like antiques or that particular look, and if you can get past the fact that you will be watched for your every move here, then pay Aubergine a visit when you're in the area. You may enjoy it more than I did. For me, I won't be back. I don't do well with that feeling of mistrust.

Every time I come here, I end up leaving with full hands! They have the cutest accent furniture and home decor! Their items have a beautiful rustic look to it. And they always have new things. The best antique shop I've been to. :)

I remembered searching a few days prior for "antique furniture shops near Santa Clarita CA," and coming across a large, beautifully-appointed store in Simi Valley (with lots of furniture) called Fishy Finds. I went back to the website, and saw a header for "Estate Sales!" A little over a week ago, I called and left a voicemail message. Tania, the Owner, returned my message the next day. After a few additional calls and messages, we set up the estate sale for this past Friday, 3/20, to be run by her associate, Crystal. While not all furniture pieces sold, many did! A bunch of glassware, lamps, clocks, etc. did also. A good amount of vintage "smalls" were then boxed up by Crystal (and her co-worker, Dale) to be taken to the shop and put on consignment. My Sister and I were able to remove the non-vintage "smalls," and find a charity organization to take the remaining furniture pieces. The apartment was completely empty as of yesterday, and Fishy Finds played a key role in that accomplishment. At this difficult time for my family, Tania, Crystal, and Dale were professional, kind, knowledgable, and compassionate. If you're looking for a business to run an estate sale for you, or just interested in shopping for vintage items and antiques, Fishy Finds is the place. Really wonderful people. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! I like looking for small accents for the kitchen, and they usually deliver. We have a coffee bar, which I like to change out the decor accessories on seasonally. Little 6 inch decorative plates fit perfectly on a mug holder and serve as a place to place mugs while adding sweetener and creamer, saving the mat underneath from spills. I've found really cute ones at HomeGoods, always for a great price versus other options online or around town. Speaking of coffee bar needs - HG carries many options for flavor syrups, as well as other gourmet goodies. I usually go home with at least several items from their specialty food department. Prices reflect a good savings over retail establishments. I usually check out their seasonal kitchen towels. I like that they stock lots of 100% cotton ones. Have picked up some cute mugs for the aforementioned coffee bar. Come to think of it, the large metal mug holder came from HG, too. Just before Christmas I stopped in for last minute shopping. Picked up a few items for our son-in-law's bar, plus cute nutcracker-themed wrapping paper and gift bags. I was able to find everything I needed to round out my shopping list. Mission accomplished! Although there was a long time at checkout, it moved pretty quickly. They could have used at least two more cashiers. It might have been break time when I was there. The woman who helped me get my items scanned was still sporting a smile though it had to have been a long day for her and it was five days till Christmas. Kudos to their staff for keeping the store looking fresh even so close to the big day.

My son, husband and I enjoy Pokemon cards. We collect and rip packs as a family. But because of the increase of scalpers and resellers, it has been extremely difficult to purchase these cards at retail. Target sometimes has these drops and unfortunately, scalpers will get ahead and buy out everything. This morning I arrived at this target location early morning in hopes of getting some Pokemon cards for my son, and one other woman was also waiting. The cashier tells the person he is assisting about the line earlier was for Pokemon cards. He continues to say "I hate it all so much honestly" and continues to complain about it to his customer. As the woman and I stood there waiting for said pokemon card availability in which he hates so much. The customer asks the employee what the fuss is about Pokemon cards to which I chimed in and said "Well my son loves ripping packs and we do it as a family." It's really disheartening that a family's hobby brings so much hate to an employee that they feel they have to complain about it openly in front of others. I understand the hobby can bring a lot of customers to your job but to talk about how much you hate it, openly in front of genuine people who actually enjoy the hobby who are not scalpers -- is beyond disappointing. God forbid families have hobbies and have to compete with scalpers to be able to enjoy the hobby.
