Before I get started on my review, if you look at my profile, you will see its very rare for me to give 1 star reviews. You have to really upset me or anger me to get that rating and even then I know there is such thing as off days so I do end up updating a review when I see improvement. I really wanted to use this company but the initial phone called I received was insulting. I won't mention this sales ladies name because she probably doesn't represent the entire sales/customer service team. I received an email saying that there was a truck in my area for my potential move date which will be discounted because its already there. Alright...cool let me give the lady a call. She seemed really nice at the beginning of the call. I told her that I was still trying to figure out a budget and was waiting a final move in date but wanted to get a quote. We walked through the inventory and she gave me a final quote as well as the cubic ft to give to other companies who wanted quotes. This is when it all goes down from here. After she asked if this was a price I wanted to lock in, I told her that I wanted to talk to my fiance first as we are paying for this move out of pocket and wanted to wait on a final move in date and another quote. I never use this word to describe people in ANY of my reviews but she turned into a major bitch. "Well at the beginning of the call you said that a budget didn't really matter." I told her we were working on a budget and that we still needed to see the house first before we pulled the trigger on putting down a deposit. "Well your move is going to be coming up so I really think you need to schedule this move today." I once again told her I wasn't going to schedule anything intill I talked to my fiancé and it wouldn't be till the upcoming Monday where we will be talking more on who we want to choose to move our belongings. "You know we have an increase of people who are now calling us because they decided to go the cheaper route and now they are left with no truck to move their belongings and now we have to scramble to save these people" Ok? I highly doubt this is happening all the time. I didn't respond to her as she then said "Its in season for moving so this is common and prices are going to be higher" Yes I know. This next part really irritated and hurt me a bit. After I asked her to just email me the quote so that I can have it saved to show my fiancé, she said "I don't know what's going on out there in Arizona but we have a huge influx of people escaping Arizona because of California. I'm over here in Florida but I guarantee you that Arizona is the next California and everyone is leaving so your going to have to book a truck for your escape out of Arizona because its going downhill with everyone moving out from California." Ouch. That one actually hurt. Good job for using the emotional factor to try to make a sale. Did this lady really think I was moving for the heck of it. This was a very hard decision for me and my fiancé to leave our families and life behind Arizona because of the increase in the cost of living. She may know that Arizona is suffering from inflation and higher cost, but she doesn't know exactly the reason everyone is moving from Arizona. She was so cold after I told her to literally wait 4 days for me to get quotes and to view our house. If she didn't want me to get another quotes, don't provide the information I needed to give to other companies. What's really sad is we were going to chose this company. The company was within our budget after all and the good reviews from others helped make the company more attractive. I believe in good first impressions and the lady did NOTHING to make us think this company was a good choice. She needs to learn tact. A simple "Of course, just let me know if you have any questions about your quote and when your ready to book, reach out to me and I will get the process started" would of went much longer. read more

My parents and I had to move a few weeks ago. I was shocked when we saw how serious these workers took their job. Also the precaution for each box. They double wrapped some of our most fragile objects with extra blankets and sheets they brought themselves. I don't know the cost for everything because my parents paid, but they never complained about the process (as they always do). This company is terrible! They are a hoax!! Do not hire them. They under quote the service to get you business. A guy named Tony calls you first very friendly and quotes a ver competitive rate based on a low number of boxes. Then 3 days before moving, Anna will call to confirm the inventory and she will suggest a much higher number of boxes. At this point you have no option because 1) It's to late to schedule with anyone else and 2) because they will refuse to refund the deposit (in my case it was 2,200). So they sent a new estimate 50% higher!! I had to rent a uhaul trailer to get the rest of my boxes. When the movers arrived, the estimated volume was way under what the actual volume is, so the movers will charge much more on site! My original estimate was 6,500 to move from Denver to Tucson, AZ. The amount I payed was 10,500!!! The customer service personnel denied to schedule my delivery until I payed them an additional 500 deposit linked to the additional charges. They promised 48 hour deliver and at 3 days they have not even scheduled my delivery! My family is sleeping on the floor right now!! Mi Bill of lading number is 8365623 from Denver, CO to Tucson,AZ. From other reviews I've seen post-service, the company will replay: "we don't have your number in our system" just to try to deny their responsibility (you'll see). Worse mistake of my life! And that's because I requested full packing service from American moving experts. The moving company only sent 2 persons because they weren't told I need full packing. I ended up paying more and it took much longer to move because there were only two movers. Everything went smoothly until the actual move. I told them I NEEDED to move out on Friday and they confirmed that they would put that I preferred Friday as my move in date. During the week I got an email confirming that my pickup date would be Friday morning, cool. Thursday evening I get a call that they had sent MY pickup crew to OHIO and that my pickup date would need to be Saturday between 10-2. She was very unsympathetic, however she assured me that they'd be there on the "earlier side". I needed to be back at work on Monday, 20+ hours away, a 2 day drive because I'm stopping halfway. Why would they send my pickup crew that was confirmed to pick up my furniture on Friday, to OHIO on THURSDAY NIGHT? For reference, I'm in Tennessee. So I rebook my AirBNB, beg my boss to let me have Monday off, and change my plans around this new pickup date. Remember when she said they'd be there on the earlier side? Noon hits and they call and I ask where the truck is. They have no idea that it was supposed to be coming in early. They have the driver call me and he says he'll be there between 3 and 4. So NOW I'm having to beg my boss for TUESDAY off, rebook my airbnb AGAIN, and wait for the crew to get here OUTSIDE of the previously established hours. I should not have to pay that amount of money for the amount of stress I've gotten. STAY AWAY FROM AMERICAN MOVING EXPERTS! Their sales agents will email you saying that they have a truck in the area and that it works out for both parties. NOT TRUE, THIS IS A SALES PLOY. We moved from Colorado to Michigan. The sales team will tell you want you want to hear to get you to sign the contract. They are a broker and not an actually moving company. They did not explicitly tell us that until the 11th hour. They selected a company that was picking up orders and not delivering them. The sales team said we would have our items 7-9 days after pick-up but it ended up being more like 45 days. Their customer service is horrible, as all they do is act as a middle person not caring that you are living without the possessions you work so hard in life to obtain. They record your conversations without your consent FYI, once you contract with the moving company, your contract with AME is essentially null and void, and they wipe their hands of you. These people have the lowest prices for a reason, they take what they from you and move onto the next customer. KEEP SEARCHING FOR ANOTHER COMPANY THAT ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT YOUR MOVE. In the end we asked for a refund, and their communication went silent. Let's see if this company has any moral compass and actually provides a refund, or even a partial refund for the mental damages this company put us through. First off we were led to believe that this company was a moving company. What we was not disclosed is they are a "Broker" and NOTHING more then that. The significance of their being a Broker and NOT a Moving Company is they are looking for whatever Mover they can contract with to get your belongings from point A to Z which mean there can be one, two, three and in our case four seperate movers we did not have specific contracts with, all with different licensing coming in contact with our belongings and all adding additional costs onto the original estimate which in our case was also wrong as they had a 26ft Box Truck that they said held 2600 cubic feet however the truck can only hold 1875 cubic feet which was fraud number one! On top of the wrong cubic footage they charged us for the cost of the Budget Moving Truck! Between dealing with this from November 2021, the multiple people whether from the contract company to the 3 others it turned into none of them giving one damn care if you received your items or not! Whats crazy is I just got off the phone with a "Carissa" with American Knights Moving who was the rudest, argumentative, unprofessional individual I've dealt with in a long time never giving me a chance to explain or let alone listen to me but felt her customer service expertise was best served by yelling over me!? Following up I saw on their site that she was a dispatcher and NOT customer service which was obvious! If this is your first big move or cross country move, this review is for you and a word of caution. This is my personal experience only. Your experience may be different. In short, I would not recommend them to anyone. If you're up for a story, read on.... The initial sales pitch is really good. Communication and availability of people to talk to, ask questions and get support are all great. For me, once my deposit was in their hands and I was outside my cancellation and refund window (which is within 72 hours of deposit) communication and availability changed. I received my follow up call on a Friday for my move that was scheduled between Monday and Wednesday of the following week. AME confirmed they would be out on Monday and I would get a call on Sunday with the timing for Monday. That call did not come. I followed up with the two contacts I had, both went to an answering service and my emails were not returned. I did not hear anything until 2pm on Monday informing me that my pickup window was Wednesday instead. I was told this was my misunderstanding of the process. After reviewing the call AME stated I did hear and understand correctly and this was their mistake. In my updated window on Wednesday between 12-4, I received a call at 2pm from AME saying that no one would be coming that day either due to weather and I was rescheduled for 12-4 on Thursday. On Thursday morning at 9am I get a call from the driver stating they will be on site by 9:30 and I state this will not work and my window was 12-4. I called AME and asked what was happening. I stated I was not available until 12:00 as that was the agreed upon window and after waiting for two days I no longer had that flexibility. AME was polite and stated that I would be in the afternoon between 2-4. By 3 I had not heard from the driver or AME so I called in again. I was informed my delivery window updated to 3-6 and I should have been informed. At 5:30 there was still no call from the driver. I called AME again and was informed a worker was hurt and they would more than likely not be coming today. Again. AME asked to give the driver 30 minutes to call in. At 6:15 there was no call or response from AME or the driver. I called in and it went directly to their answering service. (The answering service is a relay only. They cannot help you.). At 8pm the driver arrived on location. They did not call ahead or provide any advanced notice as AME stated they would. I call AME 3 times over the next hour and a half to get someone from AME to validate the updated costs with the carrier. No one returned my calls. I canceled the pickup and sent the driver away. (AME is very specific about not accepting updated rates from the drivers. They say they can negotiate better rates and should not accept anything without looping them in.). I received a call back from AME at 10pm with no updates and I needed to inform the rep of the situation. It was late so we agreed to speak the next day. Friday. By 10am I had not heard back from AME. I called, my rep was not available so I left a message requesting a call back. At 11:30 my rep called back and asked me what I wanted to do. I thought this was an odd question as I was expecting AME to provide a solution to this since they are the broker. AME stated they were able to send a truck the next day (Saturday). I stated this was acceptable but I wanted an adjustment on my costs since I had lost an entire week. After discussing with a supervisor she was only willing to make a $100 deduction (2.7%). I said that was not acceptable and I thought based on how poorly the week went a $400-500 deduction was more appropriate. She refused and pushed back about what had happened during the week. She stated they were brokers only and the remaining costs were to the movers. I said that was fine and it didn't matter where the money came from but the service to date from AME was unacceptable. I asked her to review the full story and she accepted and said she would call me back in a few minutes. I waited for an hour and a half before calling her back at 5:15. Their offices close at 5 on Friday so it went back to their answering service. The old adage of fool me once seems like a fitting choice here. At this point I was done. My call was returned at 5:39 but I missed it. They did not leave a message. I called back at 5:40 and it went back to the answering service. Again. I left another message. My call was retuned at 5:49 but I did not want to deal with them anymore. If you've read all of this, you rock. Obviously this is all anecdotal but I hope this detail gives you pause before you make a decision to hire them. With parking permits and the AME deposit I'm out around $1000. And I'm walking away. Some life lessons are expensive. Hopefully it won't be one for you too. read more

We were not in any big hurry but we asked our earliest date for move in and we gave them the date thinking that was when our furniture would be delivered. We hustled to pack up and head to our new address only to find that the actual company that was transporting our furniture was not in fact American Moving. It was a company out of Chicago and they were given our information on the 4th. So here we sat waiting. No one returned our calls. Deal was done. They had their money. I will say the company that transported our goods was outstanding. They explained that we had been lied to in order to make the sale. Duh.... Do not use this company. We hired them last summer to move from CO to NC. They were pretty expensive but it was the pandemic and we thought we didn't have much choice. They seemed professional at first. They basically book your move and use a third party to physically move your things. The third party they used was Spartan Moving Plus. They were horrible. The communication between AME and SMP and us was laughable. We would get multiple calls all confirming different dates of pick-up drop-off etc. So once our things were picked up they were transferred to Denver to be held until they could fill up a bigger truck to head out east. Again no one would return our calls it took from Jun 21 when they picked up our things to final delivery of August 11. They not only damaged some handmade wood furniture but they "misplaced " our California King Size custom Oak bed frame with head board and foot rail. How do you misplace this?? this is not some small box lost in the shuffle this is a very large piece of furniture. After numerous calls they claimed "ah yes we still have it in the warehouse, we will get it out to you once another truck is full" It is June of 2022 . AME and SMP stopped answering our calls months ago. SMP mailbox is always full. They basically told us they had our things and that they were keeping them. Isn't that steeling? We never gave our bedframe to them. My father made that out of solid oak to replace would be $3000 and if we filed a claim we would get maybe $200 for it AME offered us $100 oh, yeah they also misplaced an 8x10 rug. This is robbery not just a few lost boxes. It is so sad that businesses can do this, treat people would paid them almost $10,000 to move a 2b/1b condo from CO to NC . We basically paid them to move some of our things and gave them the rest. And there's nothing we can do? They can just block our calls and forget about us. Please give another company your business. Even if AME is a solid business they just hand over any problems to their 3rd parties which I am sorry are totally unprofessional. They never answered their phone, when they called it was 'from the moving company' they never would say, 'I'm calling from Spartan Moving Plus'. Isn't that weird? We got $#@%&d and they've moved on like it's ok to do this to people paying a lot of money for their services. Please use a different company!!!!!!! The photos are of damage-looks like water damage???? why would there be water damage?? obviously the warehouse was a %$#@hole place probably with wet floors. Here goes my experience...... One night I decided I put my information into a search engine for moving companies that can relocate me out of state. The next day a lady (JENNY) calls me offering me a 50% discount on my move ( Red Flag 1). I said okay I'm moving 1200 miles and she's calculated like 4700. I said hell no I can rent a UHaul and do the Manual labor myself. She came down to 3500 real quick and also said we do everything from A to Z and our business is 100 percent legit. She states " I go to bed comfortably at night knowing we are the real deal) ( red flag 2). I said you know what it's Big difference in price let me try it anyway. First they REQUIRED A 1200 deposit. Then when the movers came another deposit, then upon arrival final payment. They REQUIRE CASH ONLY!!! (Red flag3). I Thought damn this company is strange. Moving day arrives. This coming comes to my house in a UHAUL (red flag 4). No company fleet or trailer. They came with things from another customer they scammed so my things didn't even fit!! They said they would come back for the rest of my things the next day.........a week later they finally came back and on the day they came back the new home owners moved in... fucking idiots. I don't want to consider them as a moving company. Their name is American moving Experts. Sometimes they use other name to keep their fake business running. In my cases they didn't do nothing besides very obvious cheating and lying. I found out them as a scammer. Because, they didn't do nothing for me at all as they promised. Our first pickup date was August 2nd. The driver didn't have current registration on his vehicle and was denied entry to the military base. On August 3rd we waited all day to be told that the truck was full and this carrier could no longer service our move. Finally a new carrier was found and movers made it onto base the 7th. We were then told they didn't initially know they were coming to a military base. They then quoted us $2,000 over our original price and told us they did not go by weight. We are required to have weight tickets for the military. This has been a stressful and complicated ordeal for us. We are feeling taken advantage of and now have to find other means of transportation for our belongings. They won't refund our deposit as it's outside their cancelation window. 3 Months after our moving debacle with American moving "experts" I received a reply to my first review from the owner of American moving experts. He said that I should contact their customer service to once again discuss my experience. On doing so they offered me $150 refund ( from the $1699.30 commission I paid them in order to connect me with the company who physically moved my goods. I then paid Hernandez movers on pick up and drop off for the actual moving costs) They however made it clear they would refund me the $150 for my inconvenience ONLY if I agreed to remove my review! So after providing poor service they compounded their lack of ethics by offering a BRIBE to remove my review. After the owners response I thought they had come to the realization that the poor service did warrant compensation, as they contracted Hernandez to complete the move. But all they offered was less than 10% of their fee and that was to remove my review not as recognition of the terrible service. Something I failed to mention in my original review was that when my goods finally arrived I asked the driver if we could deduct money from the final payment as compensation for the delay. Red Alert! Don't be a victim of American Moving Experts. American Moving Experts is a so called long distance mover in Internet. Sometimes they work under other names such as Trinity and so on. Actually they are not the mover at all. They are Scammer as a long distance moving company. They change their names, address and phone numbers frequently. I was one of their victim. All of their good reviews you see online are written by their paid agents. Mostly done by their employees and their friends and families. Also by owner family and friends as well. In reality their reviews should be not zero but big time negative. Most of their real victims don't write any review because many of them think, it is a additional work. Only very few victim go online and write reviews. They are very nice until you sign up the fake contract with them. As soon as you sign their contract they completely changed and they became very rude. Then they will blackmail you by saying you sign the contract with them. But their contract is baseless because they don't even follow their own contract. Their contract usually very long to read. All they do send some local unprofessional movers and they will give you totally different estimate which could be $2000 to $10000 difference than original contract. You will end up paying extra money or take risk to lose your deposit especially if you pay by cash. They will take every opportunity to keep your deposit without providing any service. They will encourage you to pay the deposit by cash. They will refer to their fake contract to intimidate you. But if you go to court, they will be the actual loser. In my cases I end up paying $2500 extra money to transfer my stuffs. It a big time cheating. American Moving Experts don't take any responsibilities in case of lost or damage of your goods. So my auntie found this place for my mother to move her stuff from Cali to N. C. They gave the first date and they couldn't make it. They make the second date time, that didn't work for me. Now it's the day the drivers called and said they would be at her storage at 12 pm. So I message hey it would have been nice for you to call The 1130 to let us know you weren't going to show till later... We use GPS and we hit traffic is my response... Well I am sorry but when I use GPS it shows the time with traffic... Since when is there ever traffic on hwy fucken 5 .... We attempted to move to Florida, but were unable to follow through for health reasons. I am 72 and struggle with Parkinsons. When we requested the return of our deposit, we were told that they would be keeping our money. Outright. Robbery. Much like Arlina R. and Boris S., we hired AME. while the movers did come out and packed all of our belongings, we would find out after, that the movers AME sent, were a third party service, and were wanting paid $7k more than the $1100 AME promised it would cost. Upon cancelling the job, and paying the movers the requested $400 cash for their labor, we attempted to reverse the charge, and while successful at first, AME "proved in writing that we had benefitted from the service given" and overturned our claim, leaving us legitimately homeless as a result. I truly hope that Sean W, the supposed owner of this fraud-riddled business, reads this review, as we are very much looking to press federal wire fraud charges over this outright fraud and misrepresentation of services. read more

Today I got a response from Sean W from American moving experts trying to double down on their bad business practices. I wasn't going to comment but his response warrant this update. First of all I didn't cancel ,either you are being very dishonest or you didn't get the memo ,you guys failed to get a mover for me ,I called two days before the last expected moving date and you guys ignore me and kept lying to me that the movers will be there, then came the day for moving I got a phone call around 5pm from this company asking if I can be flexible to reschedule my moving and u said NO then they said they will withhold $120 for administration fee after they failed to keep their end of the deal is like paying them for disappointing me. So Sean ask again and if you failed to make that correction I will have no choice but to leave more bad reviews for your company. Oh am not finish ,I told them that I was going to call my bank and report them then suddenly the lady said oh we will refund you if you sign a DNA ( non disclosure form) ,I didn't even response to the email then next say I had my full refund . If there was a place for NEGATIVE stars - that's where I would start. This has been a COMPLETE nightmare from the beginning. The estimate I was given ended up being more than DOUBLED for moving LESS items... they told me that the driver would be there on SUNDAY and then I got a phone call Saturday to tell me that he would be there that day between 3-4 PM. The driver ended up showing up at 1030 PM!! I was there with him until past midnight loading my items. While they are loading my items on the truck, he informs me that he is only the "pick-up crew" and would be taking my belongings to a WAREHOUSE in New Jersey where the "delivery" driver would be finishing the run. The first available delivery date I gave them was the following Tuesday. We are now almost a FULL MONTH into this and I have YET to receive my belongings. They can't even give me an ETA!!! Finally today, I call and I get "well, it's on a truck...the driver will call you within 24 hours of delivery". Mind you, today is day 23! Unfortunately, the nightmare continues. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT book with this "moving company". They are a complete scam- an incredibly well orchestrated one- and extremely good at what they do. If you out in an inquiry for movers online, they will reach out to you with a lie to rope you into believing that they can offer you a reduced rate to move you. For us, they told us that they had a military family moving from FL to MA, and could take our stuff from MA to GA for a reduced price, since they are already headed in that direction. We agreed and signed a contract after reading many positive reviews (which we later found out were fake). Customer service was incredible in the beginning. From that point, they scheduled an inventory call where we added a few items on, and we were told it would be an extra $600. We paid agreed to pay the additional money. It's important to note that were measuring our belongings in cubic ft, not volume, which I later found out in very common in these types of schemes. It is actually illegal in most states from moving companies to charge based on this type of measurement, but there is a loophole in the law for interstate travel, which is why these scams target people for long distance moves. We organized to meet the movers on a Thursday afternoon for them to pick up our belongings, and that our things would be delivered in 3 to 5 days from when we were first available to receive them, which was the next day. We waited all afternoon on Thursday but the movers never came (BLESSING IN DISGUISE). It was at this point that we were informed that AME were not actually the ones moving our belongings, they were a brokerage that outsourced other movers. The movers that they hired called me and they were in New York. I realized then that the backstory about having a truck available in area from a previous move was a lie, and became suspicious. I organized with the third party movers to meet again at 9am the next day for pick up, and called AME to ask for a discount and confirm the time with the driver on their end, and they agreed to give me a discount but never called me back to tell me how much they would discount me or to confirm that 9am was confirmed with the driver. The next morning, come 9am, the driver was not there and I could not get through to AME. When they finally answered, their tone was bitter, rude, and unapologetic. They agreed to discount me $100 if I signed an NDA. I did not sign and my suspicion grew deeper. I dug through the reviews and started to find the 1 star reviews of this service. I took the user names of the 5 star reviewers and plugged them into a website that checks their validity. Sure enough they were fake. (You will be able to tell that they are all written in a certain style and overly positive. Apparently that is very common with fake reviews). The movers show up and I notice straight away that their truck has an old logo painted over. I google the company name, Family Van Lines, and I see similar 5 star reviews written in a similar style to the AME ones, so I dig deeper and find an abundance of 1 star reviews or people that had given their stuff to them and their belongings were held hostage, never given back, or delivered smashed after weeks of waiting. I can faintly see the old company logo that had been painted over so I googled that too. They had been outed for scamming people many times (probs why they changed the trucks name. These companies will often switch named frequently). I explained that AME had lied to me telling me that they had a truck in my area that was headed to FL and my stuff would be dropped off in 3-5 days. They told me it would be more like 7-14, but the contract they were trying to get me stated they had 21 days to deliver my goods. They were headed to RI and a couple more places to pick up other peeoples' things, and then they were taking it to a warehouse in South Carolina. I knew I was not going to give them my stuff at this point but wanted to get as much info as possible so I asked the driver to identify himself and took down his info. One quick google search pulled up his criminal record, and history of arrests. At this point, we were out about $800 and were about to give the driver another $1,450. I informed him he would not be touching out things and tried to get AME to refund our deposit. They agreed to refund us $360 if we signed an NDA. We declined and were able to get the full amount of money refunded to us the same day by the bank. The money they asked us to pay was actually collected by two different "moving companies" and they NDA they asked us to sign was sent by an individual under another company name. This company is clearly operating by many different names. We are so, so, lucky we did not hand over our things because from that point is where the scam really takes off. If you have given them any amount of money, I highly recommend contacting your bank for a refund. This type of scam is apparently pretty common and very well documented. read more

People stay away from this company....terrible, to say the list.....they will promise you what ever other company did not, just to get you...after that they will call you for the final list of stuff....here comes the nightmare!!!!!the day of pick up a different company will come and get your belongings...rest assured they will charge you more money to get your Stuff on the truck because the broker just give a estimate they don't see the stuff In Person ...at that point you paid them...what are yougoing to do? Say no? You are moving tomorrow!!!! Next, now you are expecting your stuff at the new home in 5 to 7 days (what I was promised) by Luis the Marine AKA the cobra because he will hypnotize you with empty promises ...you will not get your belongings for at list 25 to 30 days and no one cares people ...you can cry ....plead...swear, tell them you will call the authorities....will make things worst belive me...they do not care they got your money...you don't have your stuff...sleeping on the floar...no clothing....they don't care ...terrible terrible terrible do not use these people read more
