My local store is the original location in N Fort Collins, so that's what I will review here. They must treat their employees well, because many of them have been there a long time, and they have a wealth of knowledge (vs that national recreation equipment store that shall not be named, where employee turnover is huge). JAX focuses on the higher end of clothes, shoes, and equipment; if that's your focus, start here as their selection is big and high quality. I do a lot of backpacking, kayaking, and canoeing, and they are the place I start first. If they think I should look at something they don't have, I've been impressed over the years that they will suggest another store such as some of the sports stores in Boulder. From JAX over the years, I've purchased sleeping pads, daypacks, packs for month-long expeditions, boots and shoes for climbing, hiking, winter mountaineering, raft trips, and general around town. They helped me get a special long fiberglass kayak paddle, and a pair of small ultra high-end binoculars needed for a specific trip. Plus climbing gear, alpine and nordic ski stuff (though their selection of skis is limited), a wide variety of flies and nymphs, and helped me figure out a super small, lightweight gun sight. I could go on and on. Bottom line - try them, you'll like them.

We paid, pulled in and parked. Hubby's bro came through behind us by about 15 mins & was charged $20. He has 1 bike, 1 kid, same age as ours. They're cousins. Very unfair & unprofessional. They also need to keep an eye on the trash Bins. They've been overflowing every time we've been here.

BRAAP goes the dirt bike!…read more When it's your dirt bike loving neighbor's birthday, he naturally decides to have a overnight campout at the nearby motocross track and invites all his fellow motocross loving/riding friends - which included my husband and I. So we loaded up our dirt bike and quad and headed to Jewell Motocross Track to celebrate his birthday by doing some riding. PROs: ++ There's several different tracks (3 or 4) offered: beginner, intermediate, and pro. ++ All tracks run on a counter clockwise configuration - so there's no confusion about which way you should be riding. ++ They do offer happy hour pricing - though now I cannot recall the days, times, or pricing. Whoops! CONs: -- At $20 a rider - admission was a bit more expensive than I expected. Though it was my first time at a motocross track so perhaps I just don't know. What the rates are. -- The staff member at the entrance fused over our quad saying that they, "weren't allowed." After explaining it was for me to putt around on he said there was one area we were allowed to ride it far from the other tracks - gee, thanks. After all is said, Jewel Motocross Track was an "OK" experience in my book. I doubt I'll be making my way back any time soon - but wouldn't mind if I did.
