We came here after we spent a morning at Sprague Lake at the Rockies. This location at the Boulder Reservoir was one of the few places that still had rental equipment available on our drive back. Most rental places closed by 5 or 6 pm so we were grateful to find this place. We paid $25 for each thing we got - 3 paddle boards and 2 double kayaks for a total of $125. More folks ended up wanting to paddle board so they were flexible with us trading in but said we couldn't trade things in once we got out into the water. It's nice bc in Colorado a lot of places require a rental and then delivery to the actual lake for an additional charge. This place does not bc it's right near the water. The reservoir is big enough so that it's easy to go out pretty far. Great place for quick kayaking or paddle boarding, which we did for an hour and it was enough. The only downsides to this place are that their location on yelp and google are wrong, telling us to drive further past the reservoir so that even when you get into the reservoir area (instead of past it like online sites tell you) the place is still not easy to find with some small flags to demarcate the place. It's not where all the initial gear is that we saw first so that was also a bit frustrating (we had to calll them figure out where they were). Another downside is that the life jackets are just not pleasant - mine smelled like a combination of pee and sweat - it was gross bc it was strong! So they should work to improve those things since it's under their control.

Great place to rent a paddle board or pontoon boat for the family. Friendly staff. Beautiful views.

Great experience at grand lake! Spectacular views, loved the military discount for our whole group. Wakes from the boats give you a challenge. Will be back!

We said okay since it was blocking the other one in anyway figured it would just be easier. The BOAT was disgusting - it was the 50ft Maxum. The boat was not cleaned before we got on. We didn't realize before we agreed we just looked at the size of it and figured it was fine but once we got in there to say it was a disappointment was an understatement. The fridge was full of used food and condiments, and had stains and and split dried soda all over it. I had to wipe it clean before we can put anything in there. It smelt super bad and we were upset we had to put our lunch in there. The rugs were dirty the beds were USED, one of them was left unmade and there was all sorts of stuff in there. The cooler was full of trash and used ice bags and water leftover water. The rugs were dirty, the countertops sticky. The worst part was the bathrooms. He explained no to flush toilet paper, no problem. However there was no toilet paper in either of the bathrooms! We had nothing to wipe with but paper napkins. The toilets didn't flush either and guests had to "go to the bathroom" and had to literally scoop it out with paper napkins. **To make matters worse, we thought we were going to a sandbar and they took us to a bay that was littered with other boats which is fine we get it's busy, but it smelled so horrible we got out of the water immediately and they said that most likely somebody was dumping in the water --- we were literally swimming in poop! They didn't take us to another area or suggest an alternative.** It's also in the strangest location so far down the bay and it takes about 45 mins to just get out of the canal. Honestly it was such a bad experience for the amount we paid. I reached out and they refused to even refund the amount we paid extra for the "upgrade" - they don't provide refunds even when the boat was that unsanitary. ***The reason they have good reviews is because at the peak of the trip when you're having a good time with your friends they tell yo if you write a five star review right then and there they'll give you an extra 30 minutes for free.**** BOOK ELSEWHERE

Things to know. 1. if in summer, even on weekdays you will need to call and make your reservations in advance. Most likely they will not have boats available if you just do a drop in. You are able to call and reserve 14 days in advance. 2. the amounts of people allowed in the boats are different than what is on their website. it is actually less now for some reason???? not sure what that is. but hopefully they update it to be accurate at some point soon. 3. The prices listed on the website is for the boat only. It does not include gas. 4. They had half day or all day rentals available. 5. If you want to pull a tube behind, the tubes they sell in the marina span between $150-$260!!! YIKES. You will also need a tow rope and y line and that will add another $70. I called all over to see if there was a place that would rent these items and the answer is no :( We used one of our river tubes from home and well it was not the BEST but the girls made the most of it. 6. when you get there you go down around back of the marina and go to the building with the blue roof to check in at. 7. you can bring food and beverages on the boats, but if you make too much of a mess you will get charged a cleaning fee. 8. they will hold your drivers license and credit card while you are out on the boat. 9. They do give a you a boat talk to tell you how to make the boat run. The fellas down at the dock where very friendly. They were helpful and really made everyone feel comfortable. They helped us figure out how to tie our tube on even though it was not quite what they are used to. They also hooked up our y hook up and towline. 10. After you done, you will want to go up to the marina to pay. They take your stuff up there. That was not totally clear and i was hanging around down at the dock. You can paddleboard and kayak down below the marina if you want. You are not supposed to swim in the lake except at the swim beach.

Great folks always helpful. Nice to have a place to keep your boat that the CLM watch over for you.read more
