American Painting Specialists (APS) are true professionals. We had them work on our outside trim about 4 years ago, and when it came time to put some color into the interior of my home, after 30 years of white everywhere, they were the first company I thought to call. I had a couple of walls in mind, and Zane came to take a look and give me an estimate. He noticed some sloppiness in the work others had recently done on some renovations, but was willing to fix the parts that would affect his work; e.g., linear corners where paint and dripped and bled onto the adjacent walls. He provided me with an interior design paint colorist, Kristen, as part of the project cost. Kristen is simply amazing. She understood what I was trying to accomplish with the color I was looking for, and made several recommendations, while talking through each one to help with a decision. In the end, she showed me such a great palette that I decided to do an additional room. She did not in any way suggest that I do this additional work; I just found such great colors that I wanted to complete my main floor right away. I still have some painting upstairs that I'd like to do, and I will definitely call Kristen back to help me with the colors! Zane gave me a fair estimate, and had availability for a team to come very quickly. He was willing to work with schedule of the contractor staining my floors so that they could do the right work in the correct order. APS was able to come to do the work with less than a week's notice. Amazing. The team was fantastic--communicative, knowledgeable. They did a great job. In the end, I noticed some minor flaws in one of the rooms, and they worked with me right away to come and fix it. I didn't pay the balance until they had completed the work to my satisfaction, and they did a truly nice job touching up my areas of concern. APS is professional, knowledgable, responsive, and just plain good at what they do. I will have them back to do all my professional painting, both inside and out. read more

American Painting Specialists just finished painting the exterior of my house and detached garage / carriage house and they did an excellent job. The foreman of the crew that painting my house did a walk through with me after the completion of the job to make sure I was happy with everything. APS just completed the removal of wallpaper in my master bath. Not only was the wallpaper removed, the walls were then texturized and primed. It looks amazing! Jeff and Brice worked 2 days on this project, and were extremely professional. Not only was everything in the bathroom protected but they cleaned up after themselves. Definitely going to use them for future projects! Also, I had to cancel twice, on Kevin, but he was very accommodating concerning rescheduling! read more

We have used American Painting Specialists several times over the years and have always been extremely pleased with their quality and customer service. During COVID we decided to have some interior painting done and we were once again thrilled with not only their timeliness every day, but also the painter's were courteous, safety minded and friendly which is important when you have tradesmen in your house over a 2 week period. There were no surprises when it came to cost and the job was completed on time and met/exceeded our expectations. Beyond unimpressed. The sales pitch from the owner and the finished product are completely different. Apart from having uneven lines, holes not filled, and textures Kevin said would be repaired, we also had furniture and carpet damaged in the painting process. The icing was having the bid presented by Kevin and then the contract basically sold off to a contractor. We will be cleaning up the mess that was left for a long time to come. Should have found a crew rather than a business such as APS if this was going to be their standard practice. $6k and I still have a lot of work ahead. read more

Kevin's really went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule and finish painting before a big graduation party, even with unforeseeable rain (and snow!), and temperatures that were not conducive to get the project done. We had give up hope that there was time to get anything done before the party. Soon as there was a break in the weather, his guys showed up to get started. They put in long days to get as much done as possible before the party, pulled off and cleaned up while friends and family were with us, then returned to finish up the project after the party! We contacted Kevin Getz at American Painting Specialists (APS) to do a warranty inspection on our home. We were 4.5 years into the 5 year warranty and noticed some places where the paint had bubbled and loosened from the siding. APS showed up wearing masks and carefully inspected the areas of concern. They professionally removed the loose paint and re-painted those areas. We were very impressed with their staff, service and positive attitude. Can't ask for better warranty service. read more

American Painting Specialists gave me a quote to paint my house which I agreed to. Then they sent a contract which I signed. It took 6 weeks before they had time to paint my house and the day before we scheduled for them to start the owner Kevin called me to say that he could not honor the bid/contract to paint my house because there was too much work for the quoted price. Wasted 2 months dealing with these guys only to have them cancel at the last minute. Very disappointed read more

APS just painted the interior of our home. Everything was professionally completed on time and I couldn't be happier. I made a couple of last minute add ons and they accommodated that with ease. Price was fair as well. I will use them again when we are ready to do the basement. read more

Kevin and Don couldn't get their stories straight when giving excuses for not meeting a deadline. If they had a chance to collaborate on their story when I called each of them, there wouldn't be an atmosphere of confusion they left. They could have agreed on which one of them would have had the sudden death in an unspecific midwestern state, who was supposed to consult with who, and which one to blame for the failure to follow through. read more

They did a solid job correcting texture and repainting areas of my home. Nathan in particular is one of the best painters I've ever seen and an all around good guy.
