The original AC unit was covered under the five year extended warranty I had purchased two years earlier when I bought my RV. The second AC unit had been installed by a large RV Dealer eleven months earlier and was still under the manufacturer's warranty. Earl came to my location and quickly isolated the problems using a multimeter and specialized training. Earl contacted Dometic, the company which manufactured both AC units, to discuss his findings. The newer AC had a failed thermal relay but this part was no longer available. The other AC unit, only three years old, was icing up due to a low level of freon in the system. Dometic agreed both AC units had failed under warranty and agreed to send two new AC units. While I awaited arrival of the two AC units Earl loaned me a portable AC unit to keep me comfortable in sunny 95 plus Florida weather. Earl promptly replaced my two AC units on time with no problems.
