I was a little skeptical at first with so many scams out there, but I decided to take a chance. Austin Mech called to set up a site visit, showed up right on time, and confirmed that I did have damage. He walked me through the process and helped me file a claim with my insurance company. Shortly after, an inspector from my insurance company came out and confirmed the damage as well, and from there everything moved quickly. Before I knew it, Austin's crew showed up at 8:00 AM sharp and got to work. By the end of the first day, they had stripped the roof and repaired a couple of problem areas I had from Helene. The next morning, they were back on time again, and by the end of the day my new shingles were installed and I had a brand new roof. I contacted GRLC to see if I could purchase the unique materials they use and they said they do NOT sell the materials. So if you plan to do any modifications in the future, remember, YOU CAN'T. They said they have the logs milled to their specification and they won't share the mill information either. Very frustrating.

We just completed a BRLC build and learned a lot. Kelly A. from BRLC was a wonderful support…read moreperson. She is tough and pushes the trades, (and bosses) to get things done properly and timely. We love her. If you are planning to purchase a BRLC and will be using a construction loan, my advice is to negotiate with BRLC and hold back some money until the cabin is complete. It tool over 15 months to get our cabin completed. The BRLC trades contractors were unreliable and didn't show up consistently. Also, get a good reliable GC. We used a GC recommended by BRLG and he was not good or reliable. It should not take over 15 months to complete a modular cabin. Hold BRLC to their advertised product. They cut corners on our build and we had to ask them come back and redo the job to their advertised specs. Their brochure advertises medicine cabinets in the bathrooms, and all we received were mirrors. Make sure you get inspections for each step of the project. Overall, we are happy with the cabin. But the delays and rework caused us a lot of grief.

So rare in todays world of fake, instant authenticity and credibility. We built four custom stick built homes in our lives prior to choosing BRLC to build our final home for retirement. My husband and I agree that it is so nice knowing our home was constructed indoors and out of the weather. No construction trash in the walls, no particle board warped by rain and moisture, no windows cracked and dried in the summer droughts, no insulation breeding mildew because in stick building products are exposed to the elements for months on end. Our home is clean to the bone, constructed with an abundance of nails and wood. It is solid and secure. We followed their recommendation, worked with a plumber, and then had DLV make some other small fixes they'd recommended. When they came out for the repairs, they went above and beyond by painting the white pipe the plumber put in to make it blend with the roof more. They didn't charge extra for that, they just took the initiative. Also had a great experience with the scheduling staff. Katherine was even able to coordinate with us to have the team come sooner when there was a cancellation.

Terrible stay away from DLV, I can't imagine a worse experience, initial quote which I agreed upon…read moreturned out to be non-color matched hip and roof shingle, then they charge me to get the correct stuff, all along the correct hip shingles are well documented on the Presidential TL bundle wrapper. The first crew turns out to be subcontracted (even though DLV's salesman emphatically stated they don't subcontract), it was this crew who refused to install the hip shingles because the color clashed so badly. After waiting six weeks for the correct hip shingles to arrive through the hail and storms of April they then send a second subcontracted crew. Of course the second crew neglects to trim back the material at the ridge vents creating complete blockage, I bring this to DLV's attention and they argue with me, I say I'm bringing in an engineer, and they say let's have a certainteed inspector look at it for my 5-star warranty, of course the inspector sides with me. Stay away, far, far, away. This Asheville, NC DLV organization, sucks, plain and simple. I would have been better off with a storm chaser, stay far, far away. James, are you listening?
