I had a lunchtime appointment at the US Army Reserve on Oxford Road. When I arrived, Kade greeted me warmly and helped get me checked in and to triage. There were only two staff members on site, Kade and Stephanie, and they were clearly short staffed yet completely on point. Kade moved back and forth between myself and another donor to keep triage flowing as efficiently as possible. Both Kade and Stephanie worked diligently and mindfully, clearly respecting our time and the importance of the donation process. What stood out most was their attitude. Despite the circumstances, they remained positive, calm, and professional. We cannot always control the situations we are handed, but we can control our attitude and they did that beautifully. They worked seamlessly as a team, and it was evident they genuinely enjoyed working together. Their teamwork and spirit made the entire experience a positive one, and it was truly appreciated. I truly hope the American Red Cross recognizes what valuable employees they have in Kade and Stephanie.
