She is knowledgeable, professional, and someone I have felt confident following medically. However, over the last couple of years, my annual appointments have consistently been with a physician assistant rather than with Dr. Leong. Unfortunately, my experiences with this provider have been disappointing. I have felt talked over during visits, not fully listened to, and at times treated as though my concerns were an inconvenience. I raised these concerns previously and was told I would not have to see this provider again, yet at my most recent visit I was scheduled with her again. The most concerning experience occurred when I became extremely ill. My wife called the office to request medication for nausea and was told that if we did not hear back, we should check the pharmacy. There was no follow-up call and no prescription sent. For a patient of more than two decades, that lack of communication and care felt dismissive and unacceptable. I still have respect for Dr. Leong, but the overall patient experience has declined. Long-term patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and cared for -- especially when acutely ill. I hope the practice and anyone thinking of joining takes this feedback seriously.

This is a busy garage that I am very used to (just drive to the 6th or 7th floor and you're almost always guaranteed to have a spot without struggle). Take the elevator to the 2nd floor, use the crosswalk in the garage that connects Kirklin and Whitaker Clinic, pre pay for your ticket once leaving at a kiosk or pay the attendant (prepay is typically faster to get out). I'm so thankful this clinic (for my floor) has a 30 minute grace period because a 30 minute commute took an hour and 15 minutes the day of my appointment. It pays to normally plan to arrive to my appointments 30 minutes early so I had 15 minutes of a grace period left. Staff is efficient, they got me in and out much faster than my initial appointment, all questions were answered, we agreed on how to move forward and I was sent on my way. You then went through a door that led you to a long hallway of booths/office stations with suite numbers. Find yours, check in again with the individual at your designated suite and await being called for your appointment. I will say that the person I came in contact with to check in at my suite was lackluster. Could have been having a long day. Working with the public can be a drag. Not rude... just had no personality. Although it took a while to be seen - my physician was thorough, knowledgeable and willing to address any questions or concerns I may have had at the time. Pre pay for your parking garage ticket to get out faster on the floor before the main exit.

I met with Dr. Courtney Gregory and she and her team were great. My visit was almost like a consultation to see how to proceed for the next visit. Once she asked her questions I went down to the 1st floor for labs. The nurse was able to get blood on the first try which is always a plus especially when you have small rolling veins. Dr. Mallempati: 5 stars His staff: 1 star…read more We made an appointment to see Dr. Mallempati in the Pell City location, which by the way, is not easy to find. He's only at this location one day a week, I think, and they use another doctor's office/optometrist (?) facility. There's really nothing that tells you he's there and when you're standing in line to sign in, there's a sign for a dermatology office and another for St. Clair Eye. We had to ask, "Are we in the right place?" So they took us back to a room within a few minutes - less than 30 minutes in the waiting area - and then... more waiting. We ended up waiting almost 2 hours and then finally someone came in and they admitted they totally forgot we were there. Ok, fine. They owned up to it and apologized, it's ok - we can move on from that. Dr. Mallempati was great, very thorough, and great bedside manner. He schedules an MRI and wanted us to come back after for a follow up. MRI was done and we return one week later. This time we saw him in his main location and thankfully, wait time was much better. His nurse practitioner saw us first and she was very thorough, but she interrupted us when we tried to tell her something and we had to make her listen. We saw Dr. Mallempati again, and he was great. He wanted us to schedule a nerve block which would be performed at Surgical Institute of Alabama. We immediately scheduled the nerve block for Dec 23rd, 2025 to be done at Surgical Institute, BUT they (Surgical Institute) would call us the day prior to confirm the time. No food or drink the day of the nerve block (prior to). Also, a 3 week follow up post-nerve block would be scheduled with Mallempati. December 22nd comes and by 3:30 p.m., we still had not received confirmation. We call Surgical Institute and the lady who answered the phone said, "What's your name? Oh yes, we have you down for tomorrow and they WILL be confirming this, but we're just really backed up. But you will hear something." We go to bed at 9 pm, still no word. December 23rd comes and we've taken vacation from work and are sitting here, waiting to hear. At 7:30 a.m., I call Surgical Institute and the lady who answered said rather rudely that that she had no idea what we were talking about, no appointment was scheduled for us. We repeated the story about how someone at her office said we WERE on schedule, and she kept repeating, "You need to call Mallempati's office - no one from there has ever sent us anything to do with your information." I called Tracy, Dr. Mallempati's nurse, and left a voice mail to PLEASE call us ASAP. By 9:30 a.m., we gave up hope and decided to eat/drink since obviously the nerve block wasn't happening. It's April 19th, 2026 and Tracy nor anyone else at OrthoAlabama Spine has yet to call us back. We've been completely ghosted by this facility, as if we were never there. We've told everyone we know to avoid this place - which is sad, because Dr. Mallempati is great.

I only had to wait in the waiting room a few minutes before I was seen. My blood pressure and temp were taken immediately and I was able to see the doctor about 5 minutes later. All my information was on her computer so she could look back easily at my past test results. They have a lab on site so my blood was taken immediately. Checkout was quick and easy. Last time my doctor sent a letter explaining all my test results with the lab results attached. The whole experience was quick, easy. There is limited parking, but I have always been able to find a place without waiting.
