They were able to get me an appointment within the same week. I saw NP Marshe and she was so thorough and kind. The Village of Healing Center is the first and only clinic for Black women in Cuyahoga County. They have services for pediatrics, mental health and gynecology and obstetrics. They also have primary care services. They cater to the black woman holistically. I am so glad I finally called and made an appointment. I was nervous at first as I prepared to switch doctors, and hoped I made the right decision. All that concern left once I entered. The young lady who welcomed was so kind and genuine and she said she was so glad I came. She knew I was a first timer and explained the process to me. The artwork is beautiful and every exam room is named for a different medical pioneer of color. It was cool to read the different stories. My provider was so dope! She was patient, kind and so understanding. She was encouraging and a great listener. I already made another appointment, and I am actually looking forward to returning.

When first offered, people misunderstood the email outlining Vitality's plan, but once clarified, got onboard. Here was post copied from Facebook on March 23, 2020: "Thank you for the clarification email, Alana. It sounds like people were adding to their already rising freak-out over the pandemic and putting some unwarranted blame/pressure on you and your clinic. They obviously didn't think through the reasoning that you had to spell out in your clarification email. I personally think it is admirable that you are trying to take some of the stress off of the local ERs, as well as allowing your clients to do the tests in their own homes, thereby avoiding the crowds at the hospitals. He recommended his "weekend lift" despite the fact that I'd already had a mini facelift 7 years prior. I ended up looking just about identical to what I did prior to the operation. I was also told a necklift was included, yet there was NO difference in my neck at all (before and after pictures speak for themselves). Also, there's certain things a patient should be doing/avoiding 2 weeks prior to surgery. No one contacted me to give me any directions on stopping ibuprofen,etc. I had to call them and ask. I also found them to be friendly until the surgery is over. You then become a number. For 12,000 I was ripped off. Of course when I brought him my concerns I was told it would get better over time...it did not. I was then gaslit and told it looked fine. Really?. Saw another surgeon who said Dr. D should've known that I was a candidate for a deep plane, not his weekend lift. But then, it's all about the money, right?! It was only my 3rd time getting a botox/Xeomin injection ever. The first couple of times i had botox from different facilities it was great but for some unfortunate reason Google brought me for my 3rd session and the nurse who injected me either didn't know the proper anatomical landmarks or she simply over diluted the product to save more products which a lot of med spas do. I had to go back after two weeks because the injection didn't work and even after the second session to correct what didn't work the first time, sadly it still failed and did nothing. I was so frustrated and flabbergasted, i dont know if the nurse just inject a fake Xeomin on me or just plain old Normal Saline. Anyways, i went to another facility to correct the issue and it worked so i know there's something weong the nurse did to me. What a tragic and sad situation. I'm pretty sure they'll also dilute the fillers so they could save the products. I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. This place is a corrupt.

What came next made that drive look easy. We arrived at 6:17 and got checked into Fairview…read moreHospital West Park. Triage and then some X-Rays within the first hour. Then 7 hours of waiting room time as the patient sat there in pain. Hour three: I got her a new ice pack, Hour 6: another ice pack. Each time I spoke to the triage nurse who assured me that they still had no beds and if we left we would leave "against medical advice" AMA. This would affect our medical coverage. Some we were trapped. Just assume there were about 30+ other patients in different states of pain, mental clarity and coughing fits surrounding us. Also a random monitor alarm that went off every 90 seconds like a torture device. It honked three times like car horn. The vending machines didn't work and mostly the staff was apathetic. Finally at hour 8 at 2:15am we got a room. First nurse Riley was a rock star and the Dr. , Dr Defabio, was no non-sense and attentive. X-Rays were explained and medication was given. 2 boots were given and at 3:30 we were told that we would be discharged. Then we sat until after 5am until a NEW nurse came in handed the patient her discharge orders and said all set and walked out not providing a wheelchair or directions on how to leave the maze of hospital rooms. I aggressively hit the call button and on the advice of my wife ( "be nice") , was nice when the nurse came back, I asked mostly calmly, "do we get a wheelchair? Will she be wheeled out? How do I meet her with my vehicle?" The NEW nurse seem put off and said something like, "I guess I will take her". By now it was quiet and other than the four employees sitting at the main desk were laughing and telling stories. It wasn't "bustling". The patient being a nurse, we know the struggle and overworked nature, but this was just seemed like an apathetic employee not seeing the patient as a human. Overall. The 11 plus hour wait/ visit was cruel and painful. ( I figured if we multiplied my level of frustration by 3, we had how the injured patient felt). We have already contacted the hospital ombudsman and filled out the survey that was emailed. We will not ever set foot in Fairview ( considered our "go to" hospital for years ) ever again. That's all we ever wanted was good heath-care and the patient's diagnosis and treatment plan. Stay away from Fairview ER. Also hospitals should disclose "wait-times" as we would have gone elsewhere rather than be trapped for 11 hours. Everyone knows how positive I am. Hard to be positive with such bad treatment. Ok....off my soapbox.
