The center appeared clean, and the staff were congenial and professional. No delays and no surprises; I was out in quick time. Conversation was helpful and friendly. The final results were relayed soon, later after my visit. I was happy to be welcomed in a new town for me, to again donate safely and in a nice facility. It is important if going to this specific location, note the correct Address is 14002 Shelbyville Rd,. which changed in the last 3 months in Nov 2025. 14002.

Like on my first visit, I was instructed to fill out the questionnaire via my phone. I then emailed the results to myself, which included a QR code that the staff scans to input my answers. Different this time, though, was the fact that I waited in the vestibule for staff to take my temperature before entering. And all staff wore masks, and people who donate are told to wear masks as well. After checking in, I was brought to a small office to go over a few other questions and have my finger pricked. I still wish they had a bigger room to do this in, that would still allow social distancing, but at least all involved wear masks. And then I was directed to a donation chair and gave blood. The staff are friendly and professional. And this is an easy way to give back in a meaningful way. I will be back in two months to do it again.

On September 7, 2024, I went in to donate plasma and had a terrible experience. The staff member…read morewho handled my donation kept moving the needle in and out of my arm, causing severe pain without getting any blood. I told them I wanted to stop because of the pain, but they insisted I would only receive $5 and needed to be stuck again in the other arm. I warned them that the veins in that arm are shallow and would likely swell, but they went ahead with it despite my concerns. While I was donating, the staff made rude jokes and comments about me, which made the situation worse. After I finished, they kept skipping me, unhooking other clients while I waited about 20 minutes. Eventually, I removed the blood pressure cuff myself, and the needle came out because my arm had swollen. They quickly wrapped my arm and told me to stay and drink a Gatorade, while acting like I hadn't gotten my full return, even though the saline had run clear and nothing was left in the filter. To make matters worse, I was supposed to receive $100 for my second donation, but they only gave me $50. When I called to speak with the manager, he argued that I had unhooked myself before the donation was complete, saying it was their policy. Throughout the entire experience, I was treated incredibly rudely and felt dehumanized. I have been donating plasma for over a year. I have never had any of these issues. These people are beyond unprofessional and negligent at best. They said the reason I didn't receive my full $100 was due to the fact I didn't finish donating, however my deposit was done prior to me finishing at 1230pm when i wasn't done until 430pm

This place is terrible to say the least! I've been going on a semi regular basis for over a year…read moreand it has changed so much and in the worst ways possible....I'm not gonna drag them thru the mud by wasting time typing cause id be typing for a long time......this isn't the place to go for sure....most likely is mismanaged cause I always hear staff complaining and just overall very disgruntled and sometimes seems disconnected to task at hand.....several staff members have quit leaving center very shorthanded and overwhelmed causing more to walk away.....the guy that was working on me walked out mid shift and could care less about his job or me....was extremely distant and very distracted and mad at his boss from what was said to me but not only was he unprofessional about things, he butchered my arm by sticking me with needle and missing vein and resticking several times in the same spot ive donated like 30 times before with zero issues until now. I'm not going back there and plan on finding a different one to go to.......

Every time I've went in there all they can seem to do is act annoyed and they cuss very frequently. They even go to the extent of talking down to other donors when they leave. Twice now, my donation has been rushed by the staff, and because of that both of my arms feel like what are permanently in pain. My last donation was very non-pleasurable and somewhat traumatic. She didn't tape the hose to my arm well enough, which caused it to spin around while in my arm , and when it was going fine, she moved my arm for no reason, causing the needle to go further in my arm and raise. I almost passed out from the pain and in the middle of my donation, the needle had to be taken out and put into my other arm so that my donation could be completed. I would also note that on the same day that this happened I saw two other people walking out of the center with two different bandages, one on each arm. Unfortunately I will not be returning

Make sure you have everything you need before your first donation. You have to have your ID, proof…read moreof address, and your social security card. If you don't have the social security card, your social can be verified at the front desk. If you don't have your proof of address you can donate your first time without it, but you have to bring it your second time. Make sure you eat a big meal before you come because your first visit as a new donor takes 2.5-3 hours. You want something on your stomach while donating. The process goes like this: You sign in and have your identity verified, you watch a new donor video on the donation process, you're then taken to a private booth where your photo is taken and your profile is created and pay card is issued, you answer a bunch of health questions on the computer in the booth, you have your vital signs and weight taken in the booth, then you have a quick physical with a nurse in an office, then you go donate which takes 45 min to an hour. There can be A LOT OF WAITING in between each part of the process so be prepared. If you think you are waiting too long in between each part don't just sit there, SAY SOMETHING. Employees get VERY busy with regular donors while you are going through the new donor process. You can donate twice a week in a rolling seven day period. You have to wait at least 24 hours in between the two donations. The donor fees are always changing every few months so it's best to just call to ask what they are. It's worth it because you are literally helping save a life and getting compensated to do it.
