So I tried to pay my bill by phone but when I tried the automated service it said there was no record of my bill. I tried paying online. Again, no record of my bill. When I tried to hold for a live agent I eventually opted to have the system hold my place in line and return my call when an agent became available. A call never came. I tried again, and again, and again. I tried simply holding for a live agent - forever! They NEVER ANSWERED. I gave up. Then I get a letter from a collection agency regarding this unpaid bill. This is unacceptable! If you want people to pay their bill then you should damn well make it possible for them to do so! Their incompetence is unbelievable!! Do not have your scans & x-rays sent here for analysis unless you want to end up in collections.

He immediately arranged to have a test run on my hand nerves and scheduled me right away for surgery. The surgery was a complete success and didn't even leave a scar. Now that I am suffering from Carpal Tunnel in my left hand I knew exactly who to see. I met with Dr Blackburn this past week and opted to wait until January for the surgery. In the meantime he gave me an injection that has really helped. It's not the long term solution but I know Carpal Tunnel surgery on my left hand by Dr Blackburn will do the trick. In 2016 I was seeing Dr Blackburn for a ganglion cyst in my right wrist. It was small BUT where it…read morewas located caused me a lot of grief - especially when exercising. He took a minimally invasive approach first (as he's supposed to) by giving me a steroid shot to minimize the cyst - it was too small to drain. Fast forward several months later, where a freak thing happened. My EPL - which is the tendon that controls flexion and extension of the thumb, just ruptured! This happened while I was out of town, which FREAKED me out! I called and left a VM at the office (happened at like 10pm), and Dr Blackburn called me first thing in the morning. He told me how to patch up my hand to stabilize my thumb, and got me an appointment to see him the day after I returned from my trip. He did a thorough assessment and told me I needed surgery. He said the sooner I did it the better, but it was okay to get my affairs in order first. I scheduled the surgery for 2 weeks later. Also, he was kind enough to remove the troublesome wrist cyst while he was in there fixing my thumb since I asked. I got a 2 for 1 surgery deal He made it clear that surgery is the easy part. The hard part was up to me to be compliant and go to physical therapy and do my home exercises. Because of my age he repaired my tendon pretty damn tight - it took about 3 months of physical therapy with one of his preferred therapists as well as wrist stretches I do to this day to keep things good. (I do yoga and such FYI) Because of my compliance with PT and the success of his surgery, I regained about 95-100% use of my hand. This is my dominant hand, so this is HUGE. I was fully discharged from his care at the 6mo mark, and he did tell me it will take about 12-18 months before I go back to lifting as heavy as I did for an hour straight (but he also said anyone lifting for an hour would get tired) I am so grateful for the surgery and after care being a success, because the thought of not having my dominant hand is pretty devastating. Anytime anyone says they need hand surgery, I always tell them to check out Blackburn with Louisville Arm and Hand. Before my primary care doctor talked to me about the possibility of starting testosterone, i had no…read moreidea what an Endocrinologist was. (If you're wondering the same thing, it's a hormone specialist). Though i'm sure there are probably lots of reasons to see a hormone specialist, this review will mostly be for FTM guys and you curious yelpers who want to look through the window into the world of trans. I walked into the first appointment not knowing what to expect. I'd not done any real research and, if we are being honest, i wasn't totally mentally prepared to start T that day.. which is what i thought was going to happen. When i arrived, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. They used the "he" pronoun without me even asking them to. They also asked what my preferred name was, but at that point, i hadn't thought of a preferred name. They let me know that whenever i decided on something new, just let them know and they'd update it in my file. (flash forward 5 weeks when i did have a preferred name -- they updated it not only in their office records, but also in the Norton records -- so all Norton network folks would be informed) So, what to expect if you're seeing the Endo for the first time: 1) they will weight you and take your vitals before putting you in an exam room. The nurse that always does this is really chatty. She shamelessly flirts and really builds up your self-confidence. I naturally have a pretty large head (that's what she said), but i think lots of guys would really feel great after interacting with her. 2) Dr. Poorkay will come in and ask you family history and relationship questions. He's basically gauging if you have a support system in place. He'll refer to you in person and in his notes using your preferred pronouns. He'll tell you what's required to start T: a. a letter from a therapist (if you need one, I recommend the doc in my TransList bookmarks) b. blood tests -- a lot of them. (they will write the order and tell you there is a lab right down the hall. i recommend talking with your insurance and knowing what will be covered. I needed 9 tests - things like a lipid panel, T-Free and others i'd never heard of. if you don't have insurance or have a really high deductible, see my review of Any Lab Test Now) 3) You won't leave your first visit with a prescription. He made a follow-up appt for 5-weeks out. 4) When you return with your letter and lab tests, you still won't get a shot that day. He'll ask you a few more questions, give you the chance to ask all the questions you spent the last 5 weeks thinking of, then you'll leave with a script. I was disappointed with this, but i understand that they can't give out the serum in the office. 5) AFTER you fill the prescription (i recommend the "Good Rx" app to find the most affordable pharmacy), you'll have to return to get your 1st shot. They require that you either come in each week for the shot OR have someone administer it for you. If you choose the latter, you'll save time and money, but that person will need to come with you to be shown by the nurse how to do it. 6) Dr. Poorkay will schedule a 3-month check in, which will require lab tests again. This is to make sure the T is effective and nothing else wonky is going on with your hormones. After that, the visits will be less frequent, maybe once or twice a year. Lastly, since his office is a part of Norton Healthcare, you can log into your "my chart" to look over your appointments, lab results and to send messages to Dr. Poorly or his staff. They typically respond within 24-48 hours. 4 stars just because i wish information like this had been available to me before starting the process. The staff are great, Dr.Poorkay is great and i'm so grateful to have been able to pretty seamlessly start T. **I've created a TransList bookmarks list for other Trans Guys on a similar journey. Best of luck fellas. There are lots of great trans friendly businesses and health providers around louisville. how lucky are we? :)

I was told that when I went to Dr. Crawford that I was seeing one of the best Spine / Neurosurgeons…read morein the nation... which I have been told many times about many other doctors... but when I checked in to his clinic and was put in a very large exam room with a table lined with chairs I wondered what was going on. Then he arrived for my examination, with an entourage of other doctors from all around the nation to learn from his techniques. I felt like I didn't just have one doctor, but a whole team trying to help relieve me of my pain. His way of explaining things was amazing... never once did he talk down to my intelligence, but told me in terms that I understood exactly what we were looking for. I left that day with a plan of how we can diagnose and perhaps fix it... I left the clinic that day with hope, something I haven't had in a long time. One thing I didn't leave with was a new prescription for a new pill and an appointment three months later to see if it worked. Dr. Crawford is the real deal... it's hard to find doctors that take the time to do it right the first time anymore. I will keep this review updated.
