I wish to share with Sonoma County the accolades Red Cross Marin representatives (in this instance,…read moreMichael and Caroline) deservedly earned. Today Michael and Caroline, Red Cross volunteers, installed alarms in each of the rooms where alarms are advised, helping us to feel much more fire safety secure. Michael and Caroline assured me they would likely be able to offer the same service for our neighbors, once such arrangements were made. Marin County Red Cross contact number is: (415) 721-2365. The Sonoma County Red Cross contact number is: (707) 577-7600 . Why would anyone not take advantage of this incredible service, if smoke alarms are not already installed!

Eeks! Me think not! I called to find out what the real needs were for the Valley Fire and the woman…read moreI spoke to in the Red Cross office, who was supposed to be in charge, was clueless ...I mean significantly really clueless. They get TONS of money and their management is really clueless. Remember folks performance on what the money goes for is critical on judging where to donate your money to. There are hundreds of people after this fire that are whooping mad at the RED CROSS and disappointed on their lack of organization internally. People are disappointed not only in how much money they are given, but what they exactly do with the money. Salaries. Need I say more!!! Then on top of that I asked for whoever was in charge of helping people beyond the temporary tent cities and food lines. They said NO ONE WAS YET DESIGNATED for that task. HUH! Really??? We are talking already weeks after the fires began to devastate the area and NO ONE WAS YET DESIGNATED??? I told them I had access to FREE brand new furniture, brand new clothing, and other essential and she told me she had no one to leave a note for!!! Really?????????????????????? Sick.....I have access to hundreds of thousands of dollars of brand new items for those in this kind of situation and they did not have to do a THING other than let me know what was needed essentially and where should we have it delivered even a little at a time. BRAND NEW BEDS, BRAND NEW SLEEPING BAGS, BRAND NEW SHOES AND SOCKS, ETC. ...BRAND NEW EVERYTHING. They said they had NO ONE to help me. I would honestly think that a one star is far too much...! There is no way to give them ZERO STARS, but I would have if I could have.
