I going to start off my review that my father's final resting place was with Apple valley, we celebrated his 87th birthday in July. This had been his residence since February of this year. Our family went to visit him at the nursing home at all different times, the staff was always attentive and super supporting, I only have good comments. You hear all the stories of what nursing homes are like, given budget shortfalls etc. My dad was always happy, always commenting on how well taken care of he was at the nursing home. Friendly staff; so-so food and Alternate list limited; housekeeping non-existent and had loads of trash on my floor for 3 days and told many people about it. Cute facility and a great PT department. Rooms have 3 people, so 6 share a toilet and no air freshener! I got a bed next to the large shutters (light) and that made a world of difference. Two out of three people said it was too cold in the room, but nothing could be done. Several students were my favorites in the facility. When I arrived, staff threw my clothes on the floor (closet) when moved from Room 9 to 21. Beware: They automatically sent my clothes to their laundry without asking. I'm lucky the fabric could withstand the cleaning process. Lost one of my dresses. read more

My dad came here when he needed dialysis. They refused to clean his port, straight up neglected him, and at least one time, flat out forgot to check on him at all. As a result, his port became blocked twice, and infected once. He needed to have that port replaced THREE TIMES, because of their neglect. read more

These guys took great care of my mom. She told me that not one single person who worked there acted like it was "just a job." she said the food was great, they were always cleaning, and she just felt very well taken care of. read more

I am so grateful that my mother was brought here after having had an accident several years ago, which exacerbated her dementia along with other physical needs. When she first arrived she was walking and talking and the care and physical therapy she was given came from the kindest people. All of who, through the years, were truly a gift to her and the family. By the time she became bed-bound and unable to speak everyone there had known her beautiful nature and they continued to treat her with such care and respect. As well, they comforted the family and truly became a large part of our 'family'. As I live in Los Angeles, the activities department would organize a Zoom call for me every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday to be able to see her. We did this for years and the ladies in activities were constantly 'on it' to make the call happen and let me play music or talk to her for as long as I wanted to and would continue to play music for her after I got off the call. All the staff are truly angels in how they care for these people. Through the years I would regularly visit our mom at the facility and watch with amazement how these CNAs, activities ladies, nurses, office staff, including the cleaning crew, who have been there for years, care for these elderly folks and make them feel as though they still have agency in their lives. I'll never forget the kindnesses the staff showed my family as we all shared in the experience of our mother taking her final breaths. Thank you to all who work there! My mom was here for a month and had great physical and occupational therapists, very caring staff and good medical care. Our experience exceeded our expectations. It's clean, well-run and she even thought the food was pretty good! We've had experiences with other SNF's and this one was very much better than facilities we've had relatives stay in the past. Staffing in these places is always too low due to Medicare and state laws but this place does a really nice job given the constraints they face. I'm grateful that they helped my mom so much. read more

Though I'd like to give a benefit of a doubt when possible, Apple Valley slid way below the positive rating level, down to one star. Many of the people there do try, though it seems they may be very overworked. However, there were flaws in the procedures, the most egregious I experienced being the mishandling of my need for a BiPAP machine. I had a stroke, which paralyzed the left side of my body, but also seriously affected my COPD breathing disorder, which I had for several years prior. My breathing was (and is) severely limited, needing a BiPAP machine daily, and was assured one would be at Apple Valley when transferred there from Kaiser. However, upon arrival, I was told the machine they had was "missing some parts", but that a new one would be there the next day. 3 days later, some people finally came in with a replacement machine, but there was a problem with the software (?), no one could figure out how to get it operating correctly, so a request went out for another one of these. 3 more days later, another one of these was brought in, but, astonishingly, it had no power cord! Finally, 2 days later, the head of nursing actually brought in her own personal power cord that fit the BiPAP machine, finally I was able to use it . . . 2 days later the rental company eventually delivered the missing power cord. It was beyond ridiculous, gasping for breath throughout the night for over a week because I couldn't have access to the BiPAP machine that doctors from Kaiser had specifically prescribed and ordered. As for other aspects of life at Apple Valley, no great expectations for the food, but sometimes it was just weird. I was paralyzed in my left arm / hand, so I couldn't use a knife and fork as is usually done, but one evening these strange meat slabs appeared (pork chops, maybe?), completely uncuttable . . . even the NAs who came in couldn't couldn't cut these up, it was truly inedible. But other weird oddities were noted, like being served a bowl of dry cereal, but no milk . . . requesting some milk became a 30 minute process. Even requesting a single extra napkin was often equally frustrating. On average, requesting anything was a 20-30 min wait or more. I know, they're probably understaffed there, I get that, just conveying my personal experience. I did get a few therapy sessions (note the term, "few"), which were appreciated when provided, but many daily hours were spent in bed or in a chair, even just being able to stand for a few minutes was often a major production. Other interests, such as multiple attempts to have my nails cut (since I can't do this myself) was hopeless, even though I was told multiple times someone would help with this. The final straw for me was when my cordless shaver "disappeared" . . . 3 days later someone came in with a sharpie pen to mark my name on the already missing shaver??? At this point it was like being in a very bad comedy skit . . . I realize for some of the reviewers here, they seem to focus much more on the emotional feelings they got from the staff who greeted them, assurances everything is going to be OK and so on, but I'm specifically citing my own first hand experiences there. I wasn't interested in social activities and all that, my focus was on my medical situation related care there at the facility. To be fair, some of the nurses and NAs were very nice, genuinely helpful and much appreciated, but in the larger picture, sorry Apple Valley . . . one star. " read more

I spent 3 weeks at this Skilled Nursing Facility after being released from the hospital. The building itself is older and the rooms are very small. There are no private rooms and some rooms have 3 patients. The staff is excellent. Everyone from nurses to physical therapists are professional yet friendly and I received the best care. Special kudos to the certified nursing staff, especially Claudia, Lucy and Lilly. Those girls are on top of everything! I would definitely recommend this place. read more

My Mom went to this facility after a fall and it was one of the worse experiences. They set goals for patients and then do not rehab them with exercises. Moving her from her bed to the wheelchair was the most she got on a consistent basis. She went to the exercise room about 5 times. She was in a covid room, and they lost her glasses when they moved her out of the room because they insisted everything be left behind. I raised a small fit and got her phone for her. They called me on a Monday and told me that her insurance is no longer covering her since Friday and it would be $204.00 out of pocket for her to stay. I had to bring her home as it was already over $1000. She was home for 2 months and ended up back in the hospital for something different and since she was not able to even stand on her own, she is back at another skilled nursing facility. She has been there for a little over a week, and she is already walking short distances and going to the exercise room. She is at the place she was before Apple Valley, and they kept in contact with her insurance and got her stay extended until she was strong enough to come home. I would not send anyone I care about to this facility. We never did get her glasses back. They also lost a pair of pants that she had. I can forgive the pants, but I will never forgive the shabby treatment course or the loss of her prescription glasses. If you are considering this place pick up your loved one and run. read more

We were only guests of a patient so I can only speak to that experience. The people who work there are so exceptionally friendly. No matter if it's someone we have seen every time we visit (once a week) or someone we've seen for the first time, they treat us like friends. We take two small children with us and they are all always so welcoming to them as well. I don't know what it's like to stay there, but we do enjoy visiting. H read more

My sister has been at AV for almost 2 days and no shower or bathing. The hospital had not either. AV knows she has not had a shower this is day 10. WTF? PT is happening appropriately and Food. But she is sitting in her own unwashed body trying to heal. But the whole body is being ignored! read more

I am in a tiny room with three beds crammed in along with two wheelchairs, two walkers, three bed tables two commodes a couple smallish dressers. there's no room to sit or even just stand! meds arrive two hours late even when after hitting the call button a lot and asking people to relay the need to the appropriate person. there are some nice people here, but generally speaking, I'm asking my surgeon if I can go somewhere else. read more

There are not enough stars to describe the level of care I received at Apple Valley. They were all wonderful! The CNAs are extremely kind, gentle, and efficient. They do physically and emotionally demanding work with patience and smiles on their faces. I have also overheard rude patients berating the same CNA that gave me such loving care. She responded with patience and professionalism. Blanca, the CNA with whom I had the most contact was an angel! when my pain was it's worst, her gentle care and patience made it bearable. The nurses and therapists went above and beyond to get me anything I needed. Tay handled a mix up in pain meds and followed up to make sure my primary care physician had ordered meds. He always checked in on his patients when his shift started, and encouraged me to call for anything I needed. Tina gave me a shower on a day she wasn't working with patients because I had missed my shower day due to fatigue. Darlene went to my house on her lunch break to meet with my husband and solve equipment problems. Her solutions work perfectly, and she streamlined equipment needed. Really "above and beyond". Vanyda from admissions stopped by everyday to see if I had everything I needed. She was always a cheerful ray of sunshine. Arena made sure my discharge went smoothly, checking on equipment delivery and following up with my doctor to make sure he did what was needed on his end. Thank God I ended up at Apple Valley. Three weeks that could have been a nightmare were bearable, and I will be eternally grateful to the staff at Apple Valley. read more

They do not answer call lights, do not give meds on schedule, serve unhealthy food (with fructose corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup, sugar and other substitute sweeteners, no coffee served with breakfast. Left my stitches and staples in 10 days (too long), no fresh fruit so my friends have brought me some. Have not had a shower since the 6th (11days). read more

My wife recently completed her stay at Apple Valley Post-Acute Rehab in Sebastopol, Ca. I was very impressed with the professionalism shown by all the staff, as well as the high level of care she received during her 2.5 week stay. Everyone, from the aids to the medical staff to the administrators, was top notch in the care she received. She was treated with respect, and her needs were met at all times. The staff really cared, and it showed. In addition, the facilities were very clean. Should she need further care, I would definately send her back to Apple Valley knowing she would get excellent care from the qualified staff. read more

My mother broke her knee and went to Apple Vally for two weeks at which point she died from burst intestines. She had Alzheimer's and so I met with the dietitian to explain that my mother was a small child when it came to food and so they needed to feed her appropriately for her size, petite and age, 89, as she was incapable of doing so. Since I rarely was able to be present when they fed my mother I was not tracking her consumption and trusted that they were doing so. One evening I arrived to find the remains of her dinner and from what I could assess from the number of bowls and plates and cups and wrappers my mother was being fed way more then was healthy for her size and age. Then there is the fact that she was a lady and a lady never, ever has a bowel movement in bed or in the presence of another person. So there is the problem!! Huge amounts of food going in and nothing coming out! Eventually, she burst and she died a painful death. I'd sue and I simply don't have the energy. What's the point. It won't bring my mother back. read more

My mother recently spent 3 weeks at AV after breaking her hip. The staff was professional, caring, compassionate and kind. She has Kaiser and the Kaiser team and AV team worked together to find solutions for the problems of a 92 year old recovering from surgery. The "team" kept me informed and worked with both of us to make sure that Mom's needs were met. The facility was clean with excellent staff in every area, especially with all of the COVID protocols necessary. I gave it 4 stars due to the food, which was okay. I would highly recommend Apple Valley for rehab. read more

I spent 11 days, in this facility, following a hip replacement. I found the staff, Claudia, Blanca, Nicole, Emily, Jose, Tahye, Veroncia, and every other RN, LVN, & CNA, that provided direct level of care to me and others in my room to be dedicated, caring, and compassionate. the above list is only partial and I apologize for the staff I inadvertently did not list by name, ( I misplaced my notes). Forgive me for not calling you out by name, I appreciated the care you provided and the early morning coffee with the taking of the AM vital signs. I appreciate the work and help of Joey, PT, and Anne, OT. I also appreciated the help I received from BrendaLee, and the interaction I had with Vanyda of Admissions, who checked in on how I was being cared for. there were a few glitches, but nothing worth mentioning. My brother is there for rehab from a stroke. He's been there for 10 days, and we were going to move him to assisted living in 2 days. But now he's come down with COVID! We were warned by Apple Valley that they were treating a COVID patient, and we were required to wear and mask and sanitize our hands. But obviously that was not sufficient to protect their patients from the staff, who must have transmitted COVID to my brother! read more

My wife pleaded with us to get her out of there. She was transferred to this place from Arrowhead Regional Medical Center after having fallen and fractured her right femur around the hip prosthesis which had to be replaced and the bone pinned back together with plates and screws. She was told by the surgeon that the hip would not sustain weight or strain for about six weeks. In addition, because of extremely low blood pressure, she had had a transfusion causing an anaphylactic reaction resulting in many sores and severe itching obviously requiring serious attention. She could not get her medication (she has advanced rheumatoid arthritis) for a few days because this incompetent facility did not consult at all with Arrowhead. I had to call our primary to authorize such medication. Much later they applied a tiny amount of hydrocortisone and no lotion for her sores, so that they became much worse. Our attempts to relieve the itching and help alleviate the sores during our visits resulted in warnings by the staff that we shouldn't be doing this, even though the staff was too irresponsible to do the same and her visiting daughter is a registered nurse. During our visits we were hovered over by the staff, who seemed to be anxious to catch us in an unauthorized act of kindness toward my wife, so that they could order us to leave. We were allowed only previously authorized forty-five minute visits, the staff once taking about fifteen minutes of that time to get her out to us but dismissing us out of hand anyway. On one occasion she laid in her own feces for hours because she could not get a response from any of the staff. On one visit she had an emergency which required my daughter to rush her to an 'unauthorized bathroom' to prevent an accident. My wife was later castigated for allowing her daughter to prevent such an accident. My wife stopped a CMA trying to turn her over by crossing her injured right leg over her left which, informing her that the surgeon had forbidden such a move. For this she later was subjected to verbal abuse later by the self-same CMA because she had previously stopped her from causing injury. The physical therapist in attendance told her that he would have her hopping on her left foot in a couple of days and then walking. She informed that therapist that this was forbidden by the surgeon, upon which the therapist rolled his eyes in contempt for her desire to prevent further injury. One would expect the patient to be fed decently in order to recover from what brought her here in the first place. The food was not fit for a goat, so we brought some decent food, which we later observed was a very common occurrence with other patients' visitors as well. It also seemed to be common for the staff to confiscate such food and take it to their break room for personal consumption. My wife's roommate was subject to heart problems and was prescribed blood thinners to prevent strokes and heart attacks. She had been there three days without these thinners and was terrified that she might have a serious attack. On the front door of this facility is a notice that it is five star. These stars were obviously granted by an institution that considers mistreatment of patients a trivial issue. In my opinion this place needs to be closed if their performance doesn't improve by orders of magnitude. read more

My mom has been in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation for 3 months during the Covid 19 Pandemic. Apple Valley was the first out of 3 she has stayed in. When she was at Apple Valley, she was treated with kindness and consideration, under horribly challenging circumstances. My mom also, commented on how good the food was, which is something that does not normally go hand in hand in theses situations. read more

I just found out that a friend of mine was admitted to this place a few days ago and I tried to call to see how she was doing. Before calling I read the reviews and on August 8th 2018 there was a posting that don't try calling after 5 because nobody answers the phone. Apparently that is still happening after 2 years of no one answering the phone because I tried calling tonight at 5:30 p.m. and it rang over 20 times and no one answered. It doesn't even have a voicemail to leave a message. You would think companies would check out their Yelp reports to look into low ratings when people post them. Yes I agree that there are some people that just want to complain but there's also valid complaints. read more

I just spent four of the worst nights of my life, aside from a couple of deaths I have experienced Of loved ones. Number one, all of the rooms are shared, it wasn't so bad when I was with just one other person, but Tuesday night they moved me to a three person room with absolutely no notice or warning. They left a pair of expensive sandals under my bed, which fortunately I thought to ask about later and did get them back. Number two, the nurses or CNA's do not respond when you press the call button. It takes them forever. Like half an hour. If at all. I rang multiple times, because I was supposed to get help going to the bathroom, but I had to do it on my own, because I could not wait. When you gotta go you gotta go. Thirdly, the woman in the bed next to me, which was like 2 feet away, those three person rooms are really crammed, was screaming in pain from 11 o'clock until 1 o'clock, I had to ring for the nurse, which, of course took forever, in the meantime the poor woman was screaming in pain. I tried to comfort her verbally from my bed, because I couldn't exactly get up to do anything, but that didn't help at all. finally A nurse showed up and said she would be right back, and disappeared. It took them an hour and a half to get the poor woman a pain pill. She did settle down after That after about half an hour, and slept for a few hours until of course they woke us rudely early in the morning. I don't know what other rehab facilities are like, but this one was awful. Oh and fourthly, the food was horrible. Here we are in the middle of a fresh fruit area and they gave us canned peaches, canned pineapple, maybe a banana, but no fresh fruit. I will never go there again and will advise anyone who asks not to go there either. read more

For almost 15 years Apple Valley has taken the best care of my father who had suffered a massive stroke which prevented him from living on his own. Finding Apple Valley has been a huge blessing for my family as we never had to worry about my father because we always knew he was in good hands with the amazing staff here. 1 star only because you can't have no stars. my brother was here, invalid. when he had a BM and rang for service, three staff came and turned the buzzer and left without giving service. another time with a BM and he couldn't find the buzzer. he called me in no. cal. both times. the phone staff had such a thick foreign accent that I hardly understood her. the second time I called she said that the CNA was "going to give her medication". when I said that "she is a he and does not need medication, but had a BM, she hung up on me. read more

I just spent 2 weeks at Apple Valley and the staff was incredibly kind and very attentive. I was spoiled by Maria and Melissa helping me so graciously with PT and OT, I was very motivated to achieve my goals. Esperanza, MaryLou and Claudia were my frequent CNAs and helped me through the worst of my post op pain and need to regulate my system. Their kindness helped me accept such private care with dignity. Deborah and Aurora, two of my favorites of many kind nurses strategized to help me finally achieve success. I'm giving 4 stars because the food could be better, but I always found enough to eat, given my level of activity. There were so many wonderful staff I'm not mentioning here, it made me sad to say goodbye. My time here showed me how there are many more good people in the world than I ever realized. Apple Valley staff has been upbeat, professional, and especially kind to my 90 year old husband who was brought here after a fall. Everyone from skilled professionals to Aides, seems to be interested in solving problems as they arose, so refreshing! Weaknesses are food, not great, and older building with small rooms. This place is more concerned about money in their pocket than the care for the patient. First, the rooms are small so claustrophobic, so difficult to have family members present at all times. It should be illegal to keep patients in those small rooms, it is very difficult for the staff to maneuver around to attend to patients properly. Second, they push family out of rooms especially when they are performing tasks for the patient. They muscle you out, there is a tall intimidating looking male that will pay you a visit if you don't follow the nurses direction. That type of behavior made me suspicious, almost as if they had things to hide & didn't want any witnesses or you to catch them in the act. Thirdly, my grandmother insisted that some of the staff did things to her on purpose. One instance, I was pushed out of the room while 2 attendants cleaned up my grandmother all of a sudden my grandmother screams, they had pulled her IV line out of her arm. I immediately barged in & my grandmother is chanting "she did it on purpose, ow, how could you" they said she was mistaken & hurried out of the room. By my grandmother's explanation of things I had no doubt in my mind that she was right & it was malicious intent on their part. Fourthly, the staff has no patience, many of them are very aggressive while handle the fragile. They need employees in this type of facility who are compassionate, caring, patient & gentle. Fifthly, we had to remind the staff constantly to give her her meds on time & request medical attention on issues that would come up. Several times they failed to bring her food on time or even feed her (once they put the tray in front of her, left it for over an hour until I showed up & made someone feed her like they were instructed to do), keep her clean, attend to her wound care & the list goes on. Finally, the facility is older, older equipment, lights wouldn't work & not cleaned well. For the money they charged one would think they could update equipment, rooms to adequately support patients & visitors & have an immaculate facility. This place is a wolf in sheep's clothing. It appears to be great with attentive staff but that's far from the truth & is a questionable place. Thank God we are an attentive family & refused to leave my grandmother's side but it was a constant struggle with this place, too much to consciously recommend others to have this facility take care of their loved ones. Please look into another care facility. read more

Apple Valley Post-Acute Rehab is an exceptional Rehab and 24-hour Skilled Nursing Facility located in Sebastopol, CA. In 2014 my mother was suffering from dementia and a very fragile spine due to advanced osteoporosis. Our family made the decision to place her at Apple Valley because my Father could not take care of her anymore by himself at home. Was this a hard decision? Probably the hardest of my life, not to mention how hard it was for my Father. Was the staff at Apple Valley 24-hour Skilled Nursing helpful to my Mother and our whole family during the 18-months she lived there? Beyond compare. Were they kind and considerate and professional? Absolutely. Were they knowledgeable of the needs of a 90+ year old woman with dementia and a failing/aged body? In more ways than I could have imagined. Was the facility clean? Yep. Was the food well-prepared and nutritious? Always. Did the staff take time with my Mom to understand her needs and also the needs of our family? Like I said, in more ways than I could have imagined. Everyone is different. Every family is different. My belief is that the entire crew at Apple Valley 24-hour Skilled Nursing - from the administrators, to the nurses, the doctors, the maintenance staff, the CNA's, the aides, as well as the many volunteers from within the community who provide a wide variety of programs and entertainment to the residents - do what they do because they all love to share their time and skills with folks living in a skilled-nursing level environment. We had our share of ups and downs as a family during my Mom's time at Apple Valley. And honestly, when we were down - those were some of the times I most remember Apple Valley staff helping us to get back up and persevere and move forward within our lives. While we had only been through what we were going through for the first time as a family. The folks at Apple Valley have been through what we were going through many, many times with a wide-ranging number of families - and their experience, caring, compassion, knowledge, skills and dedication will never be forgotten by me. I just noticed that one reviewer here said that if they could give more stars than '5' to Apple Valley that they would. Well, you know what? I can... The staff was great at setting up zoom meetings so we could see and talk to our dad. We had no problems dropping off stuff that he needed, the staff took his items to him right away. My mother had a car accident in August of 2016, in which she got a concussion. It, unfortunately, brought on dementia. Because she had 3 hip surgeries on the same side later in life, she needed 24 hour supervision as she was prone to having it dislocate. There is nothing worse for a child to have to do than bring a loved one to a facility to be taken care of likely for the rest of their life. Especially since I live in Los Angeles and go up there once a month, it is such a relief to know she is in loving hands. Even with family members who visit often, it is always on my mind her comfort and care. Luckily, we found Apple Valley Rehab. First, their staff go over and above taking care of their patients. Especially the CNA's. Their compassion for these individuals who may be compromised but still want a full life is obvious as they treat them with respect and kindness. That goes for the activities director as well. Theresa, who runs the activities department uses every possible tool at her disposal within what I'm sure is a limited budget. The nurses, too, have a lot of patients they are responsible for giving the proper medications and seem always on their game with that duty. As well, keeping my mom's hearing aids on their cart for safe keeping. It has been a bit of time now and the one thing I will say they need to work on is the laundry system. I have bought my mom several sets of clothes that have gone missing, but in the realm of such a big place that is a small inconvenience for having a safe and loving environment. The one other thing I hope they could build one day is a better outside area that allows guests to lounge without having to be just off the driveway. Staff is kind and competent. Old building with single pane windows, cold. Food is awful. PT lady Lily is fabulous. Typical sub par nursing home. Old beds. Toothpaste from Malaysia-really. If it was not for staff one is nightmare hell. read more

The first view I had was my entrance early evening to Apple Valley. Kudos to Rudy and the maintenance staff in keeping the landscaping so beautiful. The patios throughout the facility are kept clean and inviting. I enjoyed many a morning walk just to see those flowers and plants up close, and to breathe the sweet air. I even picked a few windfall Gravenstein apples -- they were very tasty. My stay at Apple Valley was indeed a very instructive, productive and happy one. I decided to make my stay a positive one, to learn as much as I can and to get back to a full recovery. I am very grateful for the dedication and caring of all the CNAs, Nurses and entire working staff. I learned a lot from the wound care nurses, the floor nurses, the CNAs, OT and PT. They are all responsible for getting me up and walking and regaining my strength. I do have some medical updates if the nurses and CNAs would be interested. I have very fond memories of chef and the kitchen staff -- I really looked forward to each meal and have kept some of the menus for inspiration, as the meals were a great balance of not only nutrition, but all four food groups were represented. It is amazing to prepare individual meals of the quantity needed for the patients yet keep everyone's nutritional and dietary needs every meal. I have admiration for the housekeeping and maintenance staff, who keep things running smoothly and were very gracious. I had a change of wardrobe due to the kindness of laundry personnel, and Rudy and the other maintenance people were ready to help with whatever needed to be addressed. All the staff were gracious, even under pressure from certain patients who were not always nice. It is amazing the staff were not given combat pay. The activities department is a very heartwarming one. I enjoyed listening to the beautiful music and singing and it was good to see different interests represented for the patients to enjoy and participate. If there is ever a talent day with karaoke or a guitarist, can I be a guest vocalist? I appreciated having computer access and even enjoyed some Spider Solitaire games. I was grateful for the tv, enjoyed the TCM station and other retro tv shows from the 50's and 60's. Confidentially I will be visiting soon to say a quick hello [ from time to time ] and bringing something nice for them as a thank you, so thank you, Nathan, for the open invitation to come back. I am a social work case manager and I have had several clients who were admitted and sometimes living long-term at Apple Valley. I have been visiting several times a weeks for many years. I know the rehab staff, nursing staff, CNA's, Activities staff and Social Services staff. I found over all the years that this is the best skilled nursing facility I have ever worked with and I have been in many settings around the Bay Area. The staff members are deeply caring about their patients, consistent in their care regularly updating care plans and they were creative and fun to get to know and work beside. After my client passed away recently, I decided to volunteer at Apple Valley because I missed the comradery and I missed witnessing the seasonal Activities they provide to the residents and wanted to remain a part of their professional milieu. I was so very pleased with the MD on my last case, he was so kind and caring and took the time to speak to me in person. I was actually surprised by this since he has so many patients. No setting is perfect and when I brought concerns to the team meeting, I was met with professionalism and accountability. I recommend Apple Valley highly for skilled nursing and physical therapy care and long-term care. read more
