My son was set for admission today but 40 minutes before being admitted he received a phone call that they cannot take him. We were traveling from San Francisco and to cut this story short - my son took LOA from work and filed disability, and besides case workers called him two week prior for take in information on his addiction. last week the same case worker called 3 times to check on my son just to Make Sure if is still coming and her 3rd call was yesterday. So....today in midway to that rehab his admission was Cancel due to doctor "all of sudden discovery". My question is?! Why this doctor did not check my son medical history two weeks or even one week prior already set date for admission???!!!! All our family was literally violated. It was so disgusting even their apology were fake and not sincere. Our family think that this rehabilitation center is all about money and that is how they do Business and they don't care about people who need help.

When picking this particular rehab facility, I was leery after reading some of the reviews, which are all old and no longer apply here. While there I was able to start my path to recovery among helpful staff and a group of new friends that have helped and joined me on beginning my new way of life. I hold back on the 5-star rating only for the mere fact that the facility is in need of some updating and landscaping could use some manicuring. Morgan was the first person I talked to when calling, and she immediately put me at ease and made me feel comfortable. My case manager Janet understood and helped me with my resistance to a 12-step program, which helped me to accept the programs and the importance of these to help me with recovery. Thanks to Kenny I began to take my meds as prescribed, which helped with my blood sugar making a 180, and now I am in normal range, I'm sure the lack of alcohol helped as well. Wendy the coordinator is so kind always with a smile and an encouraging word and enjoys an occasional meditation session and dance party. Julia, although by the book, is very caring and up-beat. Keeping her groups interesting and fun. Tron the cook is always cooking something delicious, and the treats he would leave us for the evening were always appreciated by all, doesn't hurt that he is very helpful and good humored. Also, if you have any dietary restrictions, he is very understanding and accommodating Courtney, Roy, Jess and Robert where always there to help, again very caring and friendly.

Decided to give Stephen a try due to the rave reviews he has on Southern Marin Mothers Club and the…read morevarious awards he's won in the community as the "best of...". On initial meeting he came across as quite serious, somewhat reserved and uber business-like/professional. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, and I'm sure this persona instills confidence in many of his clients, but I tend to prefer establishing a more personal rapport with my practitioners, which lets you see their true personality and who they really are. I view it as a partnership, vs. a Teacher/learner relationship or a superior/underling relationship. (I know many folks like their practitioners or physicians on a pedestal of elevated knowledge and superiority - I don't go for that.) He warmed up a bit on subsequent visits, but always maintained a certain level of aloofness that I associate with old school conventional medical practitioners. He doesn't freely describe his impressions and findings as you go along - I found I had to initiate the conversations about what he was finding with his assessments. After seeing him for several weeks, two main issues came up for me that made me decide to return to my previous practitioner... 1. His needle technique hurts! Granted, I'm pretty wimpy, but I've been to four other TCM practitioners and have never had the needles hurt in this manner. Essentially out of 8-12 needles per session, only 1-2 would go in with a minimal amount of pain & the rest really hurt. Many of the sites would bleed more than just a tiny drop after needle removal and again, this has not been common in my experience. I found myself dreading appointments because of my anticipation of pain with the needles. 2. His recommended herb changes were not helping me feel better. He had recommended a different course of herbs than my previous LAc, but I was not having improvement and was having issues keeping with the program due to side effects here and there from the various things. I was actually feeling worse and could no longer blame it on other things going on in my life, such as stress, etc. I began to suspect the herbs. All-in-all I decided to go back to my previous acupuncturist because I was feeling so lousy. Within just a few days of returning to Miki Shima and going back to Miki's recommended treatment plan I was feeling amazingly better! For whatever reason Stephen and I just aren't a good fit. He seems a nice enough guy and tons of people love him, I dread telling him that I'm "breaking up" with him to go back to my previous acupuncturist, but hey - people get back together with their ex'es all the time, right?

She is passionate about her work and has a professional, compassionate, warm, and friendly demeanor. Each of the staff members I encountered over two weeks was caring, helpful, and professional as well. The passion for their work was apparent from several members of the staff and I was impressed with the patience they showed. Those who work there seem generally happy to be there, creating a positive environment. Upon arriving at Creekside, I observed a clean, orderly, and welcoming environment. The main room has tables to visit with friends, play a game, or read, a small aviary with sweet little birds and a grand piano. They also have open spaces for gathering outdoors, a dining room, and rooms with access to patios for fresh air. My friend received the services of a Doctor, Nurses, CNA's, a Social Worker, an Occupational Therapist, a Physical Therapist, a Speech Therapist, a Psychotherapist, and a Dietician. She was well cared for and nurtured. Her body was strengthened. BY CONTRAST, my friend was initially sent to a DIFFERENT Santa Rosa rehab center prior to making her way to Creekside. It was dismal. Some members of the staff were unprofessional, lacked decorum and probably training, and seemed to lack any passion at all. She was given another patient's medication, which fortunately, she recognized the error and did not take it. The facility is very outdated, not well equipped, and depressing. I had decided that if my friend did not get into Creekside, I would take her out of there and figure things out on my own. It was that bad!

On Friday, June 14, 2024, I toured Serenity Villa with a client of mine, a potential resident. We were shown two available private rooms and agreed to take one and move in on June 20. On 6/18 12:39 PM Maritza (staff) texted to say the room was no longer available for my client. She said Allie could go into a shared space though. I was on vacation so didn't see this text. On 6/19 at 9:59 AM, I called the owner of Serenity Villa, Aida, who said they chose to phone a person who had toured a couple of months ago to let them know someone expressed interest in the room. Apparently that motivated that old lead to hustle over and put down a deposit. The room was given to that person instead of my client! I expressed to Aida that we were very disappointed to lose the room as the caregiver for the potential resident was leaving the state on 6/22 for a two-month period and we were now in a bind to find a new place with one day's notice. She said, "This is a business." I told her I thought reneging was very unprofessional and unethical. She didn't seem to care. She offered a shared room, but my client has not shared a room since college and said no thank you. I suggested to Aida that perhaps the person they gave the private room to could take the shared room instead for two months, and then after my client left, take the private room. Aida was not interested in this arrangement. I was angry at this switch and commented to Aida that she had not even apologized for the change. She didn't think she needed to since "this is a business" and they can do what they wish. FYI: According to the licensing agency for care homes, Community Care Licensing, this building has five type A citations.
