This was my second time in using the services at ARBOL. 5 years ago, I was there after foot surgery. This time I was at their re-hab after after having a blocked intestine removed. As before their staff is always friendly and helpful even at three o'clock in the morning. The physical and occupational therapist folks are professional and very good on getting me back on my feet again. The food is good to excellent. The building is very clean and quiet. If you need to use the services of a rehab , I highly recomend staying there. read more

Maureen was kind and clear during our phone conversions. It's crazy how many people aren't. (Thank you Maureen) When arriving to the facility we met Sean Baron. From the beginning he was FANTASTIC! He knew every resident and staffs name. He was informative and answered every question we had. He knew all ins and outs of the building and seem to really care. The place was clean, organized, modern, and had a great fragrance. Overall they deserve 5 stars. In July 2019 Brookdale Fountaingrove became Arbol Residences when Life Care Services took over day-to-day management. Sean gave me a thorough tour of the assisted living portion of the building and, having toured over half a dozen facilities in Santa Rosa, I liked Arbol the best. The apartments are clean and comfortable and the common living spaces are pleasant. My mother was in assisted living at Arbol for eight months until she passed peacefully in her bed in spring of 2020. Arbol's management is exceptional, knowledgeable and accommodating, and line staff is very kind and caring. Everyone does their best to provide prompt and personalized service. Mom especially enjoyed visiting with Jessica, the onsite beautician, while she had her hair cut or got a manicure. Arbol provides a nice variety of activities for residents. Arbol provides assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing facilities onsite, which I appealed to me in case I needed to move Mom. Although my mother never needed to go there I also toured the Arbol skilled nursing facility and it appeared to be much more pleasant than the many others I had visited. Finally, the evacuation during the Kincaide Fire of 2019 was handled very well. I highly recommend Arbol for your loved one. The Yelp site needs to be updated. This was a bad experience for my mother after shoulder replacement surgery. She was not allowed to walk anytime during the day except maybe 10 minutes with a physical therapist. We were told my father would be trained to walk her, but that never happened. Instead she was scolded if she got up and walked around her room. In the 10 days she was there she had no movement, but to sit in a chair or on the bed! She was able to walk around her block at home prior to surgery, and had nothing wrong with her legs! I took her to her surgeon for her post op appt and we found out that they were not following doctor's orders for her shoulder therapy. She should have been out of her sling 3 times a day with specific exercises he prescribed. We were told they did not have enough staff to accommodate the doctor's orders!!!! At that time we requested to take her home! We were asked to have her stay an additional day for PT and a list of exercises she could take home with her. Instead the morning of her release she was not brought breakfast, and came home with no paperwork that listed exercises or any detail of her PT. In addition, it was written in the exit report that she didn't want to walk, and just wanted to sit all day!!! Are you kidding! She wanted to walk everyday and was given very direct orders to stay seated. Our family would not recommend this facility, and if you absolutely have to...... make sure you have family watching everything! read more

For the most part my Aunt has thrived in this facility, compared to how she was doing in her own home. Some staff are nicer than others. It helps that my cousin, her son, visits frequently, and keeps an eye out for any funny business. They had a horrible experience in a different facility, in another county, so my cousin is naturally wary. For the most part the front desk staff are thoughtful- Aides mostly attentive- Nurses okay, some better than others-Med Techs on the ball. My Aunt did suffer a theft of jewelry, however, about one year into her stay. The staff did not handle it very well. Said that she must have lost it herself. No thieving has happened since, but that did stain our trust. My cousin was beside himself for awhile, but what could he do? Move his Mom to another place, where this can happen again?Just keep your valuables locked up. Take pictures, keep inventory. Other more honest employees seem very devoted, competent and caring. There is liv music on occasion, movie nights, a common dining area, common living room. Planned outings, activity groups, such as exercise groups. Lots of things to keep someone busy, social and entertained. Clean. Food is good. There is a hairdresser on site. My Aunt looks glamorous again! Has a weekly shampoo set and manicure. If someone were considering this facility for themselves, or an older parent, I would say that is very good, and my cousin agrees. However, keep your presence known to staff, so they are aware that you are aware of them. I visit frequently, unannounced at all hours, just to make sure it is all on the up and up. My cousin is there several times a week. Update: these facilities are profit driven and this site has cut staff considerably. Those who remain are overwhelmed and over worked. I fear there are not enough aides per resident ratio. Management ignores all cocerns; corporate pretends to care, but doesnt. Some of the Aides, nurses and med techs are wonderful. However, they are spread too thin. My cousin is considering contacting an ombudsman. This company is a monopoly. We are upset. read more

I have had my mom at another Assisted Living Facility and it is a very different experience at Brookdale Fountaingrove. People here care. A lot. When my mom moved in and was unfamiliar with the place and a little disoriented, the staff came by to help her get to dinner and just to check in on her. In the next couple weeks the kindness from the staff was palpable at every corner. Paloma, Orlando, Sara, Kathy, Melissa...to name a few of these special souls have all made a difference in her life. One of them came by and saw that she had a poetry book. They sat down and read her 4 poems! (She was delighted!!!) Another stopped by and saw she was watching a Dog Show and sat and watched it with her a little and discussed it with her. This transition has been lonely for my mom as she left her friends in another community. These kind people have made all the difference. If you are looking for a place for yourself or someone you love, I can't sing enough praises for this facility. It is small enough that they know everyone and large enough that there is a lot going on. I highly recommend this place and finally am at peace with my mom being in good care. She also reports being very happy to be there! read more
