i can't begin to express my gratitude and praise for the staff at Blue Oak caring for my brother John. He made it his home for the past 6 years after he "aged out" of group homes for people with intellectual disabilities . He truly blossomed there with all the love and care from all the staff. From the CNA's who cared for his daily needs, to the nurses who kept him going through many difficult medical challenges, to the wonderful activities staff who made him one of their own. Even the administrative staff went the extra mile to make sure John always got what he needed at the facility. John's life was deeply enriched and enlivened as a direct result of all the support he received while residing there. Indeed I believe that support kept him going and in good spirits much longer than had been expected given his complex and challenging conditions. At Blue Oak Post Acute the Social Services Department provides deep compassionate care for patients. Every patient who comes in not feeling well, in a whirlwind of emotions from traumatic accidents needing surgeries to simple IV's. Social Services makes any and every end meet, makes anything happen right, brightens up their day, makes them feel safe, comfortable and well cared for, and at the end of their stay they are highly grateful for the care received and they get to return back to the community feeling themselves again. Blue oak post acute has been amazing and done wonders for my grandpa who was a patient recovering from a severe pressure ulcer. The nurses went above and beyond with their wound care and healed my grandpa. They were competent, attentive, and caring. Blue Oak didn't feel like the typical rehab facility. The staff was attentive, patient, and actually took time to communicate with our family instead of making us feel rushed. The environment was clean, organized, and overall much more positive than places we toured before. You can tell there's been a real effort to improve the level of care here.
