I had to have two different hip surgeries within 2 months and I was not wanting to go to a "rehab"…read morefacility because I felt they were nothing but Nursing Homes. My mind was totally changed when I was taken to the Summerfield HealthCare Center. The area I was in was totally for rehabilitation, the staff was trained for us and this facility has NOT HAD ONE CASE of COVID since the beginning of this pandemic I felt safe and secure. The rehab staff is totally trained and the reason I walked out of the facility after 2 weeks of intensive attention to my recovery. I did NOT want to come to Summerfield and I will say, they saved my life. I could not have gone home and received the care and progress that the facility gave me. We had Covid tests, the staff followed all precautions and I was at such ease knowing how serious they respected the virus. I felt safe and secure. If there is a question as to where you or your loved ones needing trusted care, Summerfield is most certainly a facility I trust. They helped me, with the commitment of staff, to be able to get back to my home and start living after some very serious surgeries! I went from a place that I swore I didn't want to go to a place that impressed me with its Covid negative facility that saved my life and allowed me to get back to living the life I am grateful for. I actually called a week after my release to ask some questions and the professionals were on the line with me in minutes! I hope I never have a situation like this again however if so, I will be confident returning to Summerfield. Kate (Ruth) Fielding

I am dismayed by the "lack of Service" from inhome care companies recently…read more Due to a failed heart surgery with complications of lung damage,i have had a hard time trying to get anycare now wheelchair bound,1st Service was Marys, started out great but they flaked for next 3 weeks,so terminated them to start with Kindred,Seemed to be they were on the ball bust mostly about intake from get go. My Complaint is with a particular Physical therapist,Starting with a B,She called yesterday and left a time on Friday for a specific time to make an appointment, seemed nice on the message,I called her back this morning to let her know i had a time conflict due to a month out booked out medical Acupuncture appointment for the same slotted time, that i would need to reschedule with her,She got ugly & in my face pointing out that the requirement is for 2 appointments /week and had to cancel my appointment to comply with her schedule, right out after she said she trys to be flexible-You can't have both-I have been home-bound without care for a month in terrible pain and stress not knowing how i can get help, gasping for air, I have an electric wheelchair coming Wednesday which will allow me to be semi mobile, for close by medical help. This Phyiscal therapist booking me out 5 days in advance with only 1 time slot to fit my needs and demanding i cancel an important important to me was outrageous, needless to say i got angry, especially since she is a physical therapist and understands non drug options for pain management-Regardless,she was extremely rude and unprofessional, all i was doing was to give her a courtesy call to reschedule since i had a conflict,But her demanding tone reminding me i am home-bound and its her mandate to pick and choose what time best fits her schedule,NOT MINE! i only get 3 weeks of service, why 2x week really when no care for a month and after 3 weeks no more- DISGUSTING BUSINESS PRACTICES WITH KINDRED-NOT MATCHING THERE MOTTO-NOTHING KINDRED ABOUT THEM,GO ELSEWHERE!!!!

Under Dr. Rao's medical supervision, my mother's life was almost nothing but severe anxiety and suffering, nearly all the time. Because a new doctor came into the picture and took over my mother's care, she was able to meet and hold her baby great-grandchild, and my mother's great-granddaughter was able to fed her great-grandmother one time. Can you imagine both of them missing out on such a wonderful, treasured experience, if we had followed Dr. Roa's advice, and allowed my mother to opt for assisted suicide? Most doctors do a good job, but Dr. Rao should not be practicing medicine. I regret that I didn't file a formal complaint about Dr. Roa with the California state medical licensing board. There are many good doctors out there, and only a few truly dangerous ones, like Dr. Rao. Keep looking; you'll find an excellent one, I'm sure. Whatever you do - STAY FAR AWAY from Dr. Roa!

She threw him into severe withdrawals along with high blood pressure up in the 190s. One week later she half dead again and has continued this procedure over the last month and a half. He was once vivacious and enjoying life excited about his fiancé in the Philippines maybe someday coming to him . Right now I had to call in some authorities to help him as I live in New Jersey. She is stubborn and even refused to give me her phone number to communicate with her about my brother's condition. He is headed downhill fast at this moment and she knows that well. I have read about other others that she caught medication from and then proceeded to tell them that since they were in so much pain maybe it was time to take a shot and end their life. In my book she is psychotic and scary. Avoid her like the plague for any of your loved ones. As I said I have called him some authorities to look closely at this issue and have documented each stage of it in conversations with my brother. This is my experience and I standby it along with my poor brother who is suffering a great deal at the hands of her. We are trying now to get her switched over to a different doctor to save his life.

Cute facility and a great PT department. Rooms have 3 people, so 6 share a toilet and no air freshener! I got a bed next to the large shutters (light) and that made a world of difference. Two out of three people said it was too cold in the room, but nothing could be done. Several students were my favorites in the facility. When I arrived, staff threw my clothes on the floor (closet) when moved from Room 9 to 21. Beware: They automatically sent my clothes to their laundry without asking. I'm lucky the fabric could withstand the cleaning process. Lost one of my dresses.
