6/3/26 we had our new roof done by this company. We are very happy with their workmanship. The first day they removed the old roof. Second days started lay out the new roof. Our home with 2 stories and over 2900SF took them 3.5 days to complete the project. They started from 0730am to 3:30pm daily. They keep the working area very nice, clean and tidy. They replaced front porch dry rot and painted for us. We are very pleased and happy with American roofing company. Each one who I contact very nice and polite. Very happy with this company. Excellent and professional work and service. This company did my neighbors roof this month in March and did an amazing job. After seeing their work and how they work I asked them for a quote for gutters and to replace facia boards. The quote was lower than others I had priced. The owner Oscar was very polite, professional and his prices very reasonable. Not only that but they arrived on time at 8A and got to work right of way. His workers were friendly and polite and hard workers. The job was done on the same day and left everything clean and in good order. My experience with them was so bad, I cannot recommend them at all. The only pro I have for them is that they completed removing my old gutters and replaced them with new ones very quickly in half a day. However, their rush very much showed in their quality of work. They came back out THREE times in order to fix their mistakes, and none of the mistakes were fixed particularly well. I was very anxious about the quality of work after finding the first few issues, and then the list just kept growing. First, during a walk around after install was complete, I noticed a large hole in my stucco due to over drilling when installing the downspout brackets. Mentioned it to the head contractor, was told a guy would come back and fix it with stucco patch. Thanked him and went about my day. After they "fixed it" and we settled the bill, they left and I took another walk around, this time at my leisure without a few guys walking behind me making me anxious. The patch looked terrible, and I ended up noticing more stucco damage. I started to get a bad feeling and got up on a ladder to take a closer look at their work. Found a bunch of nails and debris left in the brand new gutters, along with scratches through the aluminum coating. One downspout was damaged at the bottom. For two sections, they reinstalled the tile UNDER the waterproofing paper, so it was sticking up over the tile. Had them come back, they fixed it, apologized, and left. Continued about my day. Ended up finding a bunch of cigarette butts on my property in the following days after. I don't smoke, nor does anyone who comes to my house, or my neighbors. A week later after we had some rain, I realized there was a side section I had never looked over. Got the ladder and went to take a look at it and saw that THEY HAD NEVER REINSTALLED THE TILE THERE and the waterproof layer had been ripped to tatters. The wood underneath was wet and I was PISSED. At this point, I had them come back to fix their error with very little faith in their abilities and I never want to see them again honestly. I had such a terrible experience, and for $2500 the quality of work was absolutely not there. This was not the work of professionals. It very much felt like some random guys that had randomly gotten picked up to do a job, with no professional pride, but with a professional price. At this point, I severely regret not just sealing the old gutters up myself and dealing with it for the next few years instead. I thought new gutters would be worth it, but I honestly feel like they did more damage to my house than improvement. read more

After a stormy week, loose shingles found on our ground and American Roofing Services owner Oscar came and gave me a free roof inspection. A leak roof was found. I received two quotes, one small repair or complete roof replacement. Oscar given me his honest opinion that my roof still can hold for another 5 more years. So, I went ahead for the small repair to save money. A day prior our scheduled appointment, my bathroom start leaking water due to heavy rain. Oscar arrived and covered the roof with heavy plastic. Day of the repair two big holes surprisingly found below shingles. Oscar's crew did an excellent repair, he also added two new vents to air out roof moisture. Repair job finished in 4 hours clean and efficiently. Price is fair and small repair also came with warranty. We reached out via Yelp and got a response and scheduled an appointment for a quote. Jose came out and gave us a very detailed and thorough quote and we were very happy with it and he was gonna let us know the cost for our solar removal and give us a call back. We never hear back! My husband called and talked to Jose and he was still waiting for response regarding solar. I called and left a message asking for a call back and never got a response back. They obviously do not want business and the original quote was from 7-12-24. Really sucks cause we wanted to go with them. read more

We were in need of a new roof after the bad storms in January, we called a few companies, Jose called us right back and was able to come very quickly and give us an estimate. He also, was very clear in explaining everything that needed to be done and making sure we understood it. He didn't talk down to us, like a few others did. He was polite in asking if he could sit down, my husband liked that. We signed contract with him, but had issues with our insurance on getting roof covered he helped with that, it ended up taking 5 months almost but he did was whatever was needed to help us. He put us on schedule temporarily hoping it'd be fixed but knowing he may have to move the date, so at least we'd be on their. Requested a bid for a complete reroof, quickly received a visit from Jose and had a nice discussion about some of the minor issues I was a aware of. Questions/fixes were completely addressed to my satisfaction and a bid was prepared before he left. It was competitive with other bids I had, and felt confident in moving forward. Oscar and his crew arrived a few days later and went at it. 2000 sq ft house and they had all of the old shingles and felt paper removed by 3pm day 1. Addressed some minor issues with the the structure we had discussed and easily passed initial inspection before install. Day 2 had much of the flashings,metal trims, roofing shingles in place. Day 3 continued work on shingle install and finished before end of the day. Day 4 just a couple guys came out to finish detail work, painting vents flashings, etc. Day 5 Jose came back out to walk the project for any issues and any remaining issues or questions I had. The crew here was friendly and very hard working, no time wasted. The inspector came by later in the day and passed with flying colors, minimal time spent as he said American Roofing had established a great reputation in the greater Turlock/ Modesto and surrounding areas. My house is 46 years old, and the project involved removing a patio roof, as well as repairing a significant amount of dry-rot. They did my entire roof. The quote wasn't the lowest, but significantly lower than the top. The crew was very professional - punctual, courteous, and did a great job. When a problem occurred (they missed a small area of dry-rot), they quickly resolved it without the slightest bit of friction. This is a very good sign, because no company is perfect, and when issues arrive you will often see a different side to a company. I would give zero stars if Yelp allowed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This company was very slow to come out to repair a leaking roof. They charged $2500 for two guys who supposedly spent 3 hours working but they were probably on their phones or taking a break. Once the first storm came after the supposed repair it leaked again in the same place. I called another roofer to get a second opinion. He lifted up the tiles where the repair was supposed to be made and sent me photo's of their shoddy work. All they did was put two small scrap pieces of felt paper over the valley near the leak site. They were supposed to do so much more for $2500. The new roofer spent a good part of the day tearing off a 10 x 10 foot section of tiles completely removing all the bad paper putting new paper down and reassembling the roof and replacing broken tiles that the previous company was also supposed to do. read more

I'm so happy with this company in fixing my back patio that was bad leaking outside and worst inside the house through my sliding door. Jose and his team did an excellent job on my roof! I had a few rotted rafter tails and fascia boards due to bad valley flashing. The crew replaced all of the rotted wood and pulled out the bad valley flashing metal and replaced the necessary underlayment and installed three ridge valley flashing rather than the old single ridge valley flashing. They then reinstalled the Spanish style roof tiles using a open style valley rather than the previous closed style valley which will allow me to easily clean the valleys from the ground using a spray nozzle as I'm no longer young enough to climb on the roof to sweep them out (which is why they were in such bad condition). Jose's was not the cheapest estimate I received but it also wasn't the most expensive. I chose Jose's company because his was the most in depth and carefully worded estimate and it was clear that he knew his business. His team were careful and respectful of my property and cleaned the debris each day. I highly recommend Jose's American Roofing company for all of you roofing needs. read more
