This is the first time that I've had to deal with damage to my RV and a repair shop. I have to say that I was somewhat nervous as to how the results would turn out. I was thrilled when I saw the work that they did and how flawless it looked. I was very impressed at the level of quality and the detail they achieved in restoring my RV back to great condition. You can see from the photos how good it looks and how bad the original damage was. If I had any complaints it would be a little better communication and letting me know the status of the job. They are slammed with work and I know that sometimes can affect communication. On the flipside though, they worked with my budget and they finished several days before they said it would be done which was AWESOME! The bottom line is that I would definitely use these guys again for sure. They earned my trust and my business and overall I came away very impressed with the whole experience and so I feel like that deserves a full five stars. read more

Please don't go here. After having my vehicle for 5 months, removing and replacing the turbo charger and charging me for the work. The owner called to let me know they where "giving up" and could "go no further". They did recommend a more capable and professional shop who diagnosed and repaired the vehicle in a day. Turns out American RV specialist had completely misdiagnosed the problem, according to the actual professionals who fixed the vehicle at an actual professional repair shop. There was little if any care of the the vehicle while it sat there for 5 months, all the plumbing fixtures had to be replaced when we got it back. I wish i read the reviews closer because when I did this seemed to be a recurring theme and has been documented previously. read more

They've had my motor home since May of 2021 with no communication. I called them 3 weeks ago & they said they were waiting on allstate. I just called again & was told the guy's computer went down & they had to get an IT specialist to work on it to send the estimate over to allstate because all state says they hadn't received it. Literally, nothing has been done in 8 months & they could care less about it. I own an automotive repair business & cannot fathom just not caring the way these people have. Stay away if you want your RV actually repaired. read more

DANGER-AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Dropped off my Rv 3 months back because they could take right away and would work with my rental insurance. Said they would work on it within month should be done. Over two months later, say it is done come pick it up and pay them this unbelievably high bill or they will start charging storage. Review what insurance paid me, pay 10k or so - all of what I have received so far- and Scott tells to just pay the difference and then tell insurance. Tell them I am not comfortable with this as I am getting repair via insurance and they will need supplements coming from shop and I do not want to be out so much when should be under insurance. Gets upset and says will work on it. Worked on partial amount but not full amount and starts telling me he will no longer deal with insurance and I have to and there is a 4k+ difference I need to fix and pay or they will place mechanical lein. Triangulate and call back insurance for 4th time trying to fix what they did not, finally get my adjuster to call THEM as they refused to call and got check cleared Thursday so call Monday I can come then or or Tuesday that I have a ride to get rv telling them I will bring cashiers check. Scott tells me no, send cashiers check and once that clears (which I clarify makes no sense since it is equivalent to cash) he will work on storage bill. Advised I just received final check so should not charge storage for process that was frankly only prolonged due to their refusal to process properly. Then responds will not release rv to me. Now, I am stuck having to get lawyer and call police. Police mention this is not the first time shop has done this. Meanwhile, I have had to cancel over five rentals due to delays so out over 8k. So, unless you have money for lawyer and time for hassle and do not want use of RV or need of income and just enjoy paying for RV without it's use and storage fees?! while they fix it at a place that has had catalytic converters stolen from(overheard man checking out while I was checking in re replacement that was done due to theft while RV there) AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I cannot even speak on their work as they are holding RV from my access. read more

I can't even begin to explain how grateful my boyfriend and I are for Scott and his team. We had barely left Austin for a week-long trip to the Grand Canyon and Zion when our teardrop trailer started heating up and leaking oil from the hubs. We called Scott before opening hours, woke him up and he showed up to his shop early for us. He was honest about other work he absolutely had to get done but assured us they would get to our trailer around noon. Well, we came back to check in around noon and to our welcome surprise it was almost done! His two big Rottweilers kept me company while my boyfriend settled up and again to our surprise the bill was WAY lower than we expected for emergency work. We WILL be back for scheduled maintenance because trustworthy mechanics are hard to find. Thanks again Scott! read more

Can't say enough about Scott and the amazing team at American RV Specialists. They made me feel like family from the first time I stepped in the door. I had an issue with my generator and the guys were able to troubleshoot and fix me up right away. Quick and professional, Scott kept me in the loop the entire way through the process and made sure I was back on the road in no time flat. My family and I own a 1983 Itasca Suncruiser and we were four days into a trip from Seattle. I was really surprised how knowledgable his team was on such an older rig. I was afraid that having an older RV would be problematic but I could tell from the start that these guys had plenty of experience on new and old vehicles. Avoid this company at all cost. We took our camper in after a camping trip as we had a leak. When we dropped it off we were told they would look at it and let us know what it would take to fix the issues. We were never told there would be a charge or what that charge would be to look at it. 2 months later they finally were able to tell me what the repairs would be. $7,000 in repairs. This thing brand new was only $13,000. I argued with him about what they needed to do. Price dropped to $3,000 for repairs. Wow, I instantly knew some of the reviews I had read on price gouging were true. I went into the office so they could go through with me what they were wanting to do and show me the damage they were talking about. They would not go show me the damage on the camper and tried to explain it to me. I told them I would like you to walk through it with me. He said he was too busy and had other calls he had to make so he couldn't go out there and go through it with me. I told him I would have to think about it and he said that was fine I could take the trailer and decide later what we wanted to do. I go back to get the keys for the trailer and was told I have an outstanding bill for them looking at it. First of all I don't even know what they looked at as he couldn't give me a good explanation of the problem just what he thought they would have to do in order to deal with the issue. As I am arguing with the guy about the costs he says its posted $60 minimum fee to do any work. I argued no work was done but he would not release my keys. Next thing I know he is shoving me into the bookcase telling me to get the F@$& out of his office until I pay him. I called the cops and had them help me deal with the situation and I am so thankful I did. When I went in to pay he tried telling me I owed him hundreds of dollars for the time they put into checking the unit out. With the help of the officers the issue was resolved and I was able to get my keys back. I would not trust these guys. Bait and Switch is the best word for them. They will want to over do the work just to bill you and if you do not agree to the work be ready to pay them a pretty big fee to get your RV back. read more
