They gave us a speaker to use and were there to help if we need them, yet they respected our practice time and space. Their athletes were respectful and positive to ours, which made our girls feel welcomed. Not to mention their parents sitting in the waiting room, were cheering MY team on... WOW!!! They have a wide diversity of fish, reptiles, and even a couple of ferrets! I appreciated the focus around our local biodiversity and found my visit to be educational. They have many different touch tanks, including horseshoe crabs, eels, rays, and a huge sulcata tortoise. It's a nice, open space. They also have a small area with tons of cool books for kids and adults. Biomes offers birthday parties as well complete with animal feeding opportunities and a guided tour.

We had my son's birthday party here in the fall and it was wonderful. They open at noon because the earlier slot is reserved for birthday parties. It's super nice to have the whole place to yourself for a very reasonable price. There is a guided tour and the kids get to see all sorts of animal feeds along the way. A great spot to spend some time on a rainy or freezing day, or to host a party for an aquatic creature lover.

I want to add to my review now that they have responded. My experience was so terrible with them…read morethat I was asked and joined a paid DOH oversight board to prevent this experience from happening to anyone else. They screwed up paperwork, created false paperwork and were misleading when Doh investigates them. They were written up several times due to what they did to our family and causing one of my daughters to have PTSD over a speech assessment exam that I requested. They lied and told DCYF that I would lock my kids in their rooms and leave the house and go out. Im the last person that would do that and they even had the Nerve to say someone was at my house that was never at my home and I have ring cameras and internal security cameras and can prove it. Early intervention is the worst here. If I could sue them 1000x over I would for what they did to our children and our family. These are not professionals. From the top down in early intervention there are problems there. So many errors. So many false reports and they never fired the people despite getting written up by doh on over 6 items. My family is fine now

I love that no matter whatever I want to make, Patti still encourages me, and seems truly delighted in my meager accomplishments. She is a true teacher, taking time to explain details again and again. She willingly shares details and knowledge from her lifetime of sewing, down to what kind of pin to use, to where to find the least expensive magnetic pincushion. Who knew? I've even learned how to make my own patterns! The atmosphere is always calm and focused, and I find it a welcome respite from my busy day to day life. Sewing has become a meditative practice for me now, which I look forward to every week. Patti is able to juggle every skill level in class, whether someone is just learning the bare bones basics, to the much more advanced. She's pretty well connected in the sewing world too, and hosts really interesting guest workshops. The studio is small and very tidy, with easy parking just outside the door. Classes are currently on a month to month basis, which is nice because it's not a huge commitment. I've seen students come for just a month, to get help on a specific project. Yep, she can do that too. And for the record, I've seen 2 men in class, everyone is welcome, West Side Sewing Studio is my little weekly getaway. I come home relaxed and focused, and I get to make cute stuff!

I purchased a flight lesson from Horizon Aviation for my partner for his birthday in 2022, but he…read moredidn't redeem his lesson until this fall. I got him the "Airman's Flight" package which is a full one-hour introductory flight lesson, including pre-flight briefing, takeoff, meander around Rhode Island, landing, & post-flight debriefing. It was $250 & I think it was worth the cost. We had a bit of a scheduling snafu - We booked the lesson almost a month in advance, but leading up to the lesson, we were told that we were on the waitlist for that day. How could that be? We booked over a month prior. We wouldn't specifically book a date that would put us on a waitlist. With our busy schedules, we need certainly. The man on the phone, George, made some moves & scheduled us for the following week. No biggie. We arrived early to the lesson & my partner was introduced to Eugene, the flight instructor. His pre-flight briefing was extensive & informative. We joked that flying a plane was "just like driving a boat, right?" We got to see the hangar, where the planes sleep. Just kidding. But it's a cute idea I can't shake from my head. Nap zone for planes. I got to sit in the back of the plane & be the ultimate passenger princess. I took one million photos, including some selfies, & even spotted my dad's house below. We only reached an altitude of about 5,000 feet, I think. I was lost in my own world, but from the snippets I overheard, Eugene was a wonderful instructor. My partner did some taxi-ing on the tarmac, takeoff, & lots of meandering. Eugene took care of the landing. It was truly an hour lesson. No less. We flew all the way down the coast, past Misquamicut, and then back again. This hour counts towards my partner's flight training (he received a flight log) if he ever wants to pursue this further. Overall, a wonderful experience, even for just the passenger princess. Well worth the money. I highly recommend as a gift or date idea. Or for anyone feeling adventurous. Thanks Horizon Aviation Team. A+!

They also organized a free tour of the ATC tower at PVD which I took and was very impressed. When I am ready to pull the trigger this school is at the top of my list!
