I lost my car keys and I was getting ready for work and I didn't want to be late so I decided to call a locksmith and I called American Services. Operator answers gathers my information and let's me know a technician will call me back. The technician calls and I tell him I need my car door unlocked and 2 keys made. He says he'll be here less than 30 minutes he arrives, unlocked the door and attempted to make the keys and after around 10-15min he says he's unable to make the keys due to the fact he doesn't know the lock code and he can normally find them on YouTube. He tries to get me to pay him for unlocking the door so I say yeah ok and step inside briefly and when I returned he was gone. I call American Services again and they send out another technician and he starts taking pictures and tells me the last tech broke the lock beyond repair and he or anyone else wouldn't be able to make any keys. I call American Services again they get a manager and she says all she can do is escalate a complaint against the technician and I will have to wait until Monday for a response and said they can't send another tech. So I never got keys made and can't drive my car. I had to call my job and cancel my shift and I get suspended without pay for a week and my car has a whole in the door. Then there are those companies that come in so low, you wonder whether they really understand the extent of the work ("if it seems too good to be true ...") or are even capable of doing it. These are the guys who usually pick up their laborers each morning at the nearest Home Depot. The proposals we received for the identical job ranged from $11,000 to $47,000 ... point proven. American Services combines the best of both worlds ... expertise and fairness. Rick was raised in the business his father founded, and has a full-time crew, including a foreman on each job. Either he or Jay continually visited our project, and kept us informed every step of the way ... even explained the process in terms we could understand. The gang arrived at around 8:00 each morning, got right to work, and definitely earned their money. We were briefed at the end of each day as to what was accomplished, what the next step would be, what to expect (interruption of utilities, having to move our vehicles, etc.), and how long we'd be inconvenienced ... they were spot-on each time. Our job included replacement and rerouting of the old cast iron drains (all done by a licensed plumber, fully permitted and inspected), so it took almost three weeks to complete ... but when they left, it was as if they'd never been here. We fully expected to do a substantial amount of cleaning up after such a project, but the property actually looked better than we normally keep it ... don't tell them that. I can't comment specifically on price, since every job is different, and they're the experts. But what I can state is that they were extremely fair, especially in light of the other proposals we received. I am in real estate sales, and I share the fear in spite of seeing so many homes repaired during my career. Hold on to your hat, there is a great,fairly priced,foundation company that is honest,and has integrity. All of the staff is so pleasant and polite. The name of the company is American Services. In addition they always answer and return phone calls. They just placed about 40 interior and exterior piers in my home. The house was left perfectly clean. I can't say enough about the company. They also replaced all of the underground plumbing and put in additional drainage for us. The work took about three weeks and a few of the days they couldn't work because of the rain.Please, the next time you consider having foundation repairs let AMERICAN Services give you a bid.
