I don't get things notarized often, but I do not remember ever the notary making nor keeping a copy of the document... I called another UPS location and I was informed that NO, the notary does not keep a copy. That is not acceptable... I had to drive all the way back and retrieve that document. And it wasn't even stored in a secure way, it was just in a unlocked drawer with a lot of other papers, maybe other customer's official documents as well! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. There is a lot of personal information on these types od documents that need to be notarized! Shame on you!! Your location cannot be trusted! Note: I talked to Christian, at the Livernois location to confirm this. He said he has been a notary for 10 years and there is no reason to make nor keep a copy of the notary page.... PLEASE, if you have allowed this location to provide you with notary services, your documents may also have been kept.. With personal information being sold to the highest bidder, this stores business practices should be put under scrutiny.. I will be filing a formal complaint.
