Ok no big deal we substituted chicken. Went to sit down and about half the tables were open and every single one was extremely dirty. Hair in the food, and all but one staff member were rude. Two of the three ladies working acted like customers were an inconvenience. Then my wife found one of their hairs in her mouth, and those two got upset about having to remake it. This was our second and last time here. The food isn't even good--just bland and cheap-tasting. Price is not worth the food. I paid over $19 for a Burrito and Medium fountain drink. It was good, just not $19 good. I'm used to paying at Chipotle but I felt the steak wasn't seasoned as well and I was charged extra for it, they don't. We are visiting Rolla was out all day and wanted something fast and good but no fast food. We ordered 4 steak tacos and a burrito. Both items were very good. We each got an order of rice and beans. They were ok, but needed salt and other spices.We were offered a bunch or different sauces which we tried a few of them and really liked them. Next time we are in town, we go back in. read more

Nice local alternative to corporate Chipotle. They make all their tacos, burritos and bowls to your specifications. I had the three street tacos combo. Each taco had a nice helping proteins. I ate here yesterday and just wanted to thank the person I spoke with in the parking lot for putting up with me. I parked but walked away from my car and the man from the restaurant wanted to make sure I was going to be using the business since I parked there. I probably acted like a total jerk in my response (long day, no excuse). He was super nice and even apologized to me when I should have. Moving on...my son ordered The M.O.A.B....bring another person (or two!) and an appetite! This is literally the biggest burrito I've seen in person. Speedy service, fresh ingredients, military discount and clean environment. I highly recommend this business and will be back to grab another gigantic burrito at my next "lunch date" with my son. This is an independent taco shop in Rolla with made to order tacos, burritos, salad bowls, nachos etc. Like that several items can be ordered in 1/2 or full sizes, which gave me an opportunity to try a couple menu items. I'd call this a local version of a Qdoba or Chipotle chain that has a friendly, caring staff that prepares your meals to order, and food was very good! Ordered a 1/2 Taco salad bowl with combo Carnitas and ground beef, plus a small chicken nachos. Both the Carnitas and ground beef were flavorful and generous portions; and with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, Spanish rice, black beans and fixin's, it made a perfect meal. You get a choice of cheese (suggest their homemade white queso) and note an extra cost if adding more than one; then add 3 condiments of choice, I had thick mild salsa, sour cream and hot verde salsa, nice mix for me! This was topped with some colorful tortilla chip pieces to add some crunch, hit the spot! The chicken nachos were also very good. Round tortilla chips with fresh pulled chicken, topped with queso, pico de gallo, fresh diced jalapeños and variety of salsa. Great to share as a starter! Liked this place and next time I drive by Rolla, will stop in again to try some of their other menu favorites. Enjoy! read more

Solid 3.5/5 restaurant. Good local option if you don't want to support the big name brand places. Plenty of menu options and toppings to choose from - although nothing overly fancy. Burrito was filled generously, although some of the ingredients came off as a little bland so make sure you add some items or condiments that increase the flavor. This was a quick stop while traveling through. Great place for some decent Tex mex. Smothered burrito in red sauce was delicious. Red sauce was earthy and spicy. Been wanting to try for a few years, complete total let down, got a 3 taco combo for 12 bucks(its not a combo if you charge separately for the chips and salsa bringing the total to almost 20bucks after tax, the only toppings they offered me were cheese and lettuce, if they have others they are hidden behind the counter and not offered, I asked for one of each of their shells, got one hard and 2 corn they messed up and didn't give me a flour. Crunchy taco shell was stale, the soft corn tortillas were under cooked, ground beef had a good flavor and texture, the side of chips was store bought chips that were also stale, and the medium salsa was bland... Sadly, I won't be going back or recommending to anyone else. Completely overpriced for what you get. If American Taco Co. was this bad. I'm not even going to waste my time with Scruffs Grill, which is connected and has the same owners. read more

We've been here two times now and the first time it was good. This time it wasn't that great. Literally the worst queso I've ever had in my life. Salsa is picante sauce in the smallest "shareable" container I've ever seen and it was $7. That's a joke considering you can go to a real Mexican restaurant and get real queso for cheaper. Passing through on 44 and found this place on Yelp. It sounded great and the photos looked delicious, so we thought we would try it. We were greeted immediately by one of the girls at the counter. Both of the girls working knew the menu very well and helped guide us because the menu has so many choices. It's really great, though, because you can customize the food to your liking. There are many sauces and toppings to choose from. I had street tacos with steak, my husband and daughter had burritos and my other daughter had some nachos. Sharing the space is another side of the restaurant that serves burgers. We saw that they serve beer battered cheese curds, which they brought out with a side of hot honey and also ranch dip. The food was all very fresh and tasted amazing. We will make it a point to stop here whenever we are driving this way and they are open. I overheard one of the girls at the counter answer a customer who asked her how long she has worked there and she said "since I was 9 - my family owns this restaurant ". On our drive from St Louis to TX, we needed something for dinner that we could eat on the road. I don't like fast food, drive thru places if I don't have to eat at them. I found this taco place on yelp and we were very pleased! I called in the order about 10 min before we got there and it was ready when we pulled up. The service was very friendly and they took care to make sure we had utensils and napkins for the road. We ordered chicken tacos on corn tortillas (classic style) and a half chicken taco salad. All our food was good. The salsa seems to be homemade. (We had chips and salsa also). The medium salsa was hot for us. I had some on my salad and my mouth was burning. I did have jalapeños also...so I'm sure that contributed. We would definitely stop here again! It's easy to get to from 44, if you're looking for something different while you're on the road. Not Taco Tuesday, but it was Taco Thirty for me! Went by on my lunch break. The service was super friendly, and super fast. Normally I take an hour lunch break, but that wasn't necessary with the speed of the service. I decided on the 2 American Taco Combo. I chose soft, flour tortillas, steak, cilantro and lime rice, topped with the homemade queso (the combo also comes with nacho chips, salsa, and a drink). The. Tacos. Were. Mouthwatering. The steak was so juicy! The flavor combo was delicious. You can add veggies (beans, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños, etc.) to your tacos as well. The chips are store-bought, but the salsa is homemade and delicious. They have multiple options for salsas, and different sauces, too. The establishment was very clean.
