On March 1st, 2026, I ordered a steak quesadilla with a side of beans and rice, and a chicken burrito with chipotle from Antonios Mexican Fresh. When I pulled up to the ordering menu, it seemed to be broken because it kept repeating, "Sorry, we are closed." It took about 10 minutes for a female employee to ask what I wanted to order. She had a hard time understanding English, and I had to repeat myself multiple times. After my order was placed, there was a long wait. Twenty-five minutes later, a lady opened the side window and, in the most unprofessional manner, said my order and reached out for my form of payment. I requested a receipt, but just like every other time, their machine was broken. The reason I requested a receipt was because the price always changes, and I always order the same items. One person gave me a military discount once; after that, another staff member stated there is no military discount or that the meal value has to be $30 or more for a military discount to be applied. This time, my order was $33, and I asked them to apply the military discount, but she said they don't offer a military discount. I noticed the receipt they couldn't produce was on the counter with a tip written on it. They are giving themselves unauthorized tips. When I returned home, my food was cold. The refried beans tasted like horse manure. I noticed there was a thick glob of spit in my refried beans. Please don't order or eat from Antonios Mexican Fresh. Look at their restaurant/food reports. The food could use more seasoning, Mexican food is known for its strong flavors, but maybe they are rationing the cumin. The employees made fun of me in Spanish assuming an Anglo customer would not understand. Unfortunately, for them, some of us do speak Spanish. The restaurant is small and ran down. The bad food can be improved on, but I will not return because of the embarrassment of being mocked in Spanish. read more

Wanted to try a different place for some "Mexican" food. Photos on yelp looked good so I decided to come dine in. I ordered the enchilada plate and the guy at the register repeated back "ok, the bean and cheese enchiladas ".. I asked him to explain how they make their enchiladas, he said they come with bean and cheese. Got them to make mine with cheese and onion rolled up, and a side of chips and queso. Queso came out quick.. it was served on a small styrofoam cup.. that had the lid melted closed. Once I opened up the container, I dipped a chip into the white queso and saw how runny/watery it was. About two mins after, my plate was ready for pickup. Presentation looked amazing! I did notice when I picked up the plate to walk over to my table, the sauce was really runny. Then on my first cut into one of the large enchiladas I was a bit aside myself. The cheese stuffed inside was still cool (nowhere close to being melted), I took a bite and felt the cool was of the enchilada sauce. I'm guessing they don't serve up enchiladas like back home. There's a new kid in town.... An authentic style taqueria you would find out west that is conveniently located along Route 66 here in St Roberts/Waynesville area. They're still going through some opening month jitters but the food is worth going through it. If you just show up be prepared for a bit of a wait. I've started to order over the phone in order to cut down on the wait. What I love about having a "taqueria" in town is you get fast food prices but restaurant quality food. So far I've had the Taquitos, regular Taco Combo and Carne Asada. Been happy with all of them. A friend, who's from California as well, made a comment about her dishes needing more salt and I did notice that with my last meal. But I have high blood pressure so I'm ok with that. lol read more

Great food. Probably the best authentic Mexican food for 100 miles. I have a recurring problem with them though. Their website says they open at 0700hrs. That's not the case. It's not uncommon for me to order 20-25 breakfast burritos for my team in the morning. Especially in inclement weather (snow, ice, lightning) when I have my team prioritize work to accommodate their safety. This place is never open at 0700. I've been there and waited until 0800 on one occasion. The food is absolutely great and I would order more frequently, but their dependability kinda sucks. My team doesn't really care when I turn to Burger King for breakfast sandwiches when this place doesn't answer the phone. But I do. Just sayin'. read more

Went thru the drive thru, ordered the tacos. They were bland. Rice and beans were flavorless, I mean a little spice wouldn't hurt. Just maybe salt and pepper.. garlic..anything!! What a disappointment. Save your money. Service was fast. I was expecting at least standard mexican cuisine..even taco bell puts those tacos to shame. We've been here several times. Breakfast burritos are good, Taquitos were good, the birria tacos are delicious. Tried a chicken chimi, the chicken was dry but that was before they were officially open so will try again. The carne asada tacos were just ok. Big fan. The food is yummy and reminds me of one of my favorites in AZ. Great salsa options, span the range of super mild all the way to warms you from the inside out. Most recent visit got a agua Fresca melon and wow! The sweetest cantaloupe ever in a cup. Plus it's the only place I've found in MO that will make a shredded beef crunchy taco. This is all I could eat of my food. I had to throw away the rest because I couldn't stand to eat it. This is the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. Food was bland. No flavor at all. Anyone defending this restaurant clearly doesn't have any tastebuds. This food is absolute mush and bland, you can get better Mexican food anywhere else in the world than here.
