The only thing is any extra cost is on me even tho the glasses are covered with new ones but I was told since insurance already paid if I return I would need to wait a year ! Are you kidding it took over week to come in my old ones broke multiple times . Well I think they should honor 30 days regardless if you're glasses are with in price of insurance coverage they should cover it. Just some long-winded info on my first (and most likely only) experience with this company... Booked an eye and contacts exam online then went to the store during the scheduled exam time. At the front desk, I had to clarify to the clerk who misspoke that I booked the exam for both glasses and contacts and not just glasses (no biggie). Did the exam, began checking out only to realize because the bill was so low that they never did the contacts exam (I for some reason thought they did). Spoke to a clerk before being cashed out that I wanted both. Clerk said the eye doctor only saw me for glasses. I said I originally scheduled both. I asked if I could get the contacts exam finished that day. They said I would need to book another appointment (wtf). I opted not to reschedule. Mostly out of spite. A week later I picked up my new prescription glasses. When I got home I realized one lens was plastic. Spoilers: I've had no vision in one eye since birth and have been wearing glasses for most of my life. I've had well over 10 pairs of glasses in that time and have never had different prescriptions in each of the frames. Having one plastic lens is much more noticeable on your face and draws attention to differences in the eyes (something I'm incredibly shy about to begin with since my bad eye can be lazy at times - it's something I try to minimize on a daily basis when people look at me). So not only did I not ask for a plastic lens, I was never informed that it would be the default option. Not a *huge* deal but an inconvenience and sort of odd based on personal experience. A few days later I went back to the store to see if I could get an identical lens to replace the plastic. They insisted the plastic is what I needed. The clerk needed to consult with the doctor twice about the change I was asking for. They finally said ok (again, first time this has ever happened to me - wtf). A week later I picked up my "new new" glasses only to realize when I got home again that the lenses don't quite match. They replaced the plastic lens with a slightly weaker prescription than the regular lens. Again: I was never informed about this, I never asked for it, and even specified the time prior that "I'd like the identical prescription in both lenses". (my exact wording). Wearing identical lenses is basically how I've been wearing glasses since forever (wtf). Also if you want a print out of your prescription, they do not provide this at your exam. You need to request it (wtf). Also I still have no idea what weaker prescription lens is over my bad eye as the print out still indicates "plastic" (wtf). Also the doctor needs to be in the office to sign for the print out if you request one. They leave the office at the end of the day if there are no booked appointments - usually about an hour before closing (wtf). Oh they're closed on Sundays. That's technically Google's fault that I tried stopping in that day, but still (wtf). The staff was generally cordial and approachable for the 479 times I went in here over a two week span, but the lack of coordination from just wanting a simple eye and contacts exam that came along the way was just not worth the hoops to jump through from a customer's standpoint - especially for someone who has impaired vision, has had dozens of eye exams in their lifetime, and wants to know every detail of what's going over their eye(s). I didn't even get what I initially set out for and generally don't care to have it resolved by this place. read more

Frankly speaking, they have good service attitude but poor professional skills. My eyeglass arrived couple days later after eye exam. But they only sent a auto voice to my number to have me pick it up. It is 2022 August, no emails, no text notification really? The glasses is not as clear as I thought. Not able to see things clear enough in close out distance, doctor said try to get used to it, but only makes me dizzy. Anyway, it is cheap for sure but overall I do not recommend anybody buying eye glasses here. read more

I've gotten my and my daughters eyeglasses and contacts prescription from them but it's the most annoying, frustrating, cumbersome process. The levels of "security" that they have created such that I can't even access my kids contacts prescription. They wield such a petty authority on the auspices that it's illegal. I never plan to go back. America's "best" is a joke. read more

Would've given one star if it wasn't for the friendly & helpful employees. But unfortunately I was diagnosed with a severe astigmatism and was told my case required emergency work on my lenses to ensure I'd get them promptly. It's been over two weeks. I paid cash for everything thinking it would be quicker. And still nothing. I initially went in BECAUSE I was having migraines due to my poor vision and now I just feel like I'm out of 180$ and still in pain when I could've just went to another company and my needs would've been met quicker ‍ My advice to this company is to get onto your manufacturer or switch. Quality products and excellent customer service. I have gotten eye glasses and contact lenses from here and both have worked great. They sent my glasses to me on time and were kind enough to educate me on how to properly use my contacts. These guys really are America's Best and I would highly recommend choosing them for your eyewear needs. read more

In October 2020, I got an eye exam and ordered new glasses. I have had nothing but trouble with the glasses since receiving them. From the beginning, my lenses did not help me see correctly. But the eye doctor kept telling me that my prescription was correct. I now live in another state and have to get new glasses. Plus, less than six months later and I received another bill from them when they told me my insurance company was a good one that would pay the majority of the expense. Obviously, their accounting department is not very adept at figuring charges. My experience has not been a good one. I would not recommend this facility. read more

Excellent experience! Dr. Ritu Bajaj was very professional and extremely thorough with my eye examination recently at the Dewitt location. She referred me for Glaucoma testing, and I felt extremely comfortable with her prognosis and discussion of my treatment options. Nicole also helped me pick out 2 nice eyeglasses at excellent prices. I am very pleased with the selections I would've normally not considered on my own! The glasses even arrived sooner than expected! read more

The optometrist at this location Daniel Gordon, O.D. is a very rude, incompetent and negligent person. He prescribed a set of glass that had worse vision than the glasses worn by my 93 year old father. The actions of Daniel Gordon, O.D. with my father John Puthumana, a 93 year old person is totally elder abuse. I intend to file a complaint against America's Best and this incompetent, rude and negligent optometrist that works for America's Best, with the New York State Attorney Generals Office, New York State Department of Health as well as New York State Department of Social Services for this poor treatment of my elderly 93 year old father. I hope that your office will speak to this incompetent, rude and negligent optometrist who works for you , so that other patients do not have to go through this same embarrassing and hurtful experience. Terrible customer service, was there 3 minutes after the time I was allowed and and the girl didn't even look at me and said 'she had til 3:30'. one of the front desk girls was very nice and polite but the other one was rude. I have been going to America's best for years but my last experience at the Americas Best in Dewitt,NY has been horrible! I went in for my appointment and then immediately was asked to put on a mask, regardless of vaccination status. While checking in another couple walks in and no masks were asked to be put on. Then as I am checking out I asked the time frame for glasses to come in I was told one week, I then asked for the glasses to be mailed to my home. I was told it cost $5, which was fine but was never provided a receipt even when asked, no tracking number. I inquired if there would be more time to have them shipped to my house, and if it came to the store first then my house. I was told it would come directly to my house in one weeks time. Well as you can imagine I had to call twice to inquire about my glasses. On my second call two weeks after my order I was told the glasses had just come into the store and they were about to mail them out, again not was explained to me otherwise I would've just picked them up from the store to begin with rather then waiting. Once we came to pick it up from the store, they were very unprofessional I waited 10 minutes to get helped because someone said they would help me walked away and then someone else came to help me and the original person started arguing with the girl in front of me. Very unprofessional they bickered the whole time I was there to pick up my order. They up sold me on this order which was fine I got specialized non-scratch glasses with night vision etc. but was given no cleansing cloths with either of my glasses so I had to call afterwards to inquire and find out that they are out and I could call back in another week to get the cleansing cloths. This place is so unprofessional and honestly a hassle I would not recommend this location. read more

Every person was professional, kind, and patient, from the receptionist to the intake tech, to the eye tech, the Dr, and the techs who helped me with my prescription. Horrible! Avoid America's Best at all costs. They are absolutely horrible. They prescribed me progressive lens that I did not need(simply because they cost much, much more than regular lenses). The prescription was wrong -- I had one from a different optometrist before the appointment and another one after the appointment and the one from America's Best was incorrect. I spoke with the store manager, and their corporate offices, and they both refused to fix the issue because more than a month had lapsed between writing the incorrect prescription and me complaining about it. The Dewitt, NY store regularly misquotes the actual price of America's Best products. I had three separate experiences across 3 years, all involved the Dewitt store representative inflating the price with anti-scratch quoting, warranty, UV, tinting, etc. -- all without telling me what was included in the price. Each misled me to think the quoted price was for the basic cost of lenses and frames. Do not go to this store. I brought this clear pattern to the store manager's attention twice, who endeavored to "explain" the various quotes. I gather this store is either hurting for customers or simply intent on gauging customers. My next call will be to the district manager. If you must go here, first call another America's Best to ensure you get honest pricing. The West Genesee store was, by far, straightforward and honest. Avoid the Dewitt store at all cost.
