I'm appalled by how many times I've been disappointed with America's Best locations. I've finally found a great one...where they were customer service oriented, and most importantly, genuinely greeted me as I walked in. The optometrist's assistant was very friendly and polite with my pre-exam, and the optometrist was very polite and spoke with me a bit about what I do for hobbies and work to make sure I get the best possible results for glasses I'd need. Vanessa, in the front area, was great and made sure I found glasses liked and would be able to wear for an extended amount of time with comfort. Sloppy place. 1. Will make an appointment with you. Then you show up and do it. Then take your prescription back because your insurance only will cover it from the last calendar visit, in October--when you saw these fools last. 2. Come back October. They then want to charge you for the August visit, even though they took the prescription out of your hands. 3. Your new glasses don't have blue light protection, even though you paid for it. They're like, no, it says it on the receipt.... except they're regular glasses. read more

Poor customer service . Spent 1 hr trying to resolve insurance issue with a manager in which they charged me $ 150.00 more than my wife with identical options and insurance . Next day no calls from manager. Called manager not there but GM would call . No call from him Anthony. Called again he would not speak with me and told receptionist I could call my insurance company. I was usually go to Grapevine store. Today I just thought they can help giving new sets of trials, since the ones I got one container was dried out. They switched 3 people on the phone with me trying to figure out for me to pick up new contacts trials. They had me on hold for 15 mins. The girl got on the phone she said " did she helped you what you needed ? I said NO! I'v been waiting for 15 mins for y'all to figure out if I can picture up the trials! The doctor was so fast with my exam he barely said hi to me. He did not ask me what I use my glasses for or anything. He asked me if it was blurry or better. I told him blurry, less blurry etc. I never saw a clear frame and he said he was done. He put I my prescription as a + when I am a -(near sighted). I brought the glasses back and told them they were wrong. The doctor debated with me saying that it had to do with my stigmatism and how some people need a stronger prescription. THEN he asked me what I use the glasses for. They did not re test me and they just gave me my old prescription. Why did I go if they were just gonna give me my old one? Well thanks for the new frames that's the only thing I got from them. Please do not go here, the doctor has no customer service and no personality, he has an ego complex for sure. read more

I really enjoyed this place and their great deals along with their really nice optometrist. Everyone was nice up until I went to pick up my glasses. The frizzy haired older lady seemed nice until I brought up my concerns on the thick framed glasses having a super weird magnifying effect. The way she disregarded my concerns was plain out annoying and rude. I've worn glasses before and none have ever given me such an effect but she continued to make me feel like a burden on her day when I wasn't even being difficult. I also stood 7 ft from her for quite a bit of a long 6 minutes of an awkward wait before she decided to acknowledge my presence. Btw... I was standing right in front of her. She's not the friendliest or happiest. She must have come across too many Dementors in her days. FYI I will adjust my rating for the better if I get contacted for further information on this situation. read more

The service was lacking, and the optometrist was in such a hurry that he didn't give me a good exam. After everything was finished, they informed me that the price had gone up since my last exam, so I'd have to pay more. This is AFTER I've already gotten everything done and am waiting for my prescription. You should tell customers that BEFOREHAND. I ended up having to go back to get a new exam by a different doctor because the first was incorrect (she was great, by the way, but too little too late) and it was wildly different from the last, but this time correct. Then, the person who typed everything up didn't include my PD and input the wrong values, so I had to correct it. It just seemed like everybody was giving half effort, which led to one unhappy customer. I won't be going back. read more

I called to order contacts. Cause if I try to do it online it doesn't give me my 10% off for the club membership. I was on hold for 21 minutes. Then the girl finally comes on and takes my card and info. Then puts me on hold again cause her system isn't working. I was on hold another 4 minutes. Just to order contacts. That is a bit ridiculous. Also need to update your ordering process. So we can get our discount and not have to wait for over 20 minutes to bother someone at the store. . read more

The "doctor" went at break-neck speed through the eye test, barely giving me time to respond. They didn't call me when my glasses came in (either time). I told them one of the prescriptions was off, that I could read better without them, and one girl told me I just needed to get used to them & to take them home anyway. Excuse me? The female Asian OD at this location is absolutely horrible. When I tried telling her that I still couldn't see, she began to yell at me....I told her no thank you, i can go somewhere else. She asked why, I said because you are yelling at me. She said no she is not yelling she is just explaining she doesn't have my prescription in the contacts so she just gave me some that is close to try. This place gaslit me! Told me my migraines were normal and that my blurry vision to the point were I couldn't even see at night anymore and couldn't see any road signs unless I was two car lengths away from it was completely normal. After I got my new glasses with the prescription they gave me. Refused to retest me told me to go to where I got my glasses from to make sure that they put the prescription correctly then came back and because the autorefractor gave them the same prescription so they refused to manually refract me and because of this I had to spend $100 out of my pocket at different eye doctor to get a completely different prescription because I had used my insurance benefit to already get a $10 I exam from them. They broke the arm off my already loose broken glasses which is why I needed the exam in the first place. Never coming back and do not come here!!!! read more

My apt Time was 11:30 am made one week in advance. I then see a Pizza delivery guy with 7 boxes of Pizza walk into their break room and never saw the Dr. until 2PM. This place DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYONE'S TIME. They are more concerned about their cold pizza. Not America's Best! I had an eye exam on May 7th which I received a free eye exam for purchasing 2 pairs of glasses. I was told by the manager that they would be ready in 10-14 days. After 13 days I called and sure enough they were there, they had been waiting on the second pair to come in. I went today, May 20th to pick them up and to my dismay, the manager placed an order for 2 of the same pair which was incorrect. The employee that was helping me stated the manager was not in but he would give him the message to make the fix and I would have to wait 10-14 days for the CORRECT pair to come in. I do not understand how the incorrect one was ordered when everything was done in person with the manager. One pair is for work and the other is for home use so yet again I have to play the waiting game and will not have my glasses until the first week of June. This is highly unacceptable! read more

You have 7 technician sitting down doing nothing and chatting with each other. No greeting at all. After I'm done with my vision testing. I had to wait for 30 mins to pick my pair of glasses. What's so frustrating is that they weren't busy at all. Help me out here because I have to run other errands too. I booked an appointment and I showed 15 mins prior to my appointment to fill out the paper work to leave early and still nothing. This is an update on my radio it's been three months I finally got help with my glasses management called me when I put this review and they were not happy with it I believe they have done everything they can to correct my problem with my glasses and my girlfriend's glasses so finally it's December I am wearing my new glasses my girlfriends wearing her new glasses and so far no more problems I would like to tell you that the upper management of America's best did what they can do to correct the problem and I've been very happy with that now hope you don't run into the same problem I have and get it right the first time so I am changing my review too good thank you. read more

This American's Best location will be the ONLY store we'll ever buy our prescription glasses from for as long as we live in TX!!! We're Californians who are new to Texas & just purchased a home closer to the America's Best on Alliance. For that reason, we've gone there the last 3yrs. This morning I took a chance and called the Hurst location, Roshan the manager picked up. He said "if you can get here in 30min, we have an opening!" Not only did he squeeze me in, he squeezed my hubby in too!! I was already happy with his customer service ...but when it was time to check out & pay, I became a lifetime customer!! Both my husband & I walked out of there with a pair of glasses and prescription designer shades for LESS than the cost of the designer frames alone! This is with the anti-glare coating, UV protection AND scratch resistant coating. TWO PAIRS of prescription glasses!! Did we have insurance? Yes. However, it was his product knowledge and proper placement of the add-on's that got us the savings. He knew his business and was strategic with the order to make sure we had maximum savings! I didn't even plan to purchase sunglasses... but my cost of the prescription glasses was less than $50 AFTER tax & the add-on's ...I decided to look at the sunglasses since the 2nd pair of glasses is 50% off everything (frames, lenses & add-on's). When I tell you the savings was nothing short of amazing...I literally cannot put it into words!! We weren't pressured to purchase any designer glasses or shades. The customer service was awesome! Even the exam doctor was great, professional and personable! I took business cards, I'll forever refer people there! Great customer service from ALL the staff and the manager Roshan is our glasses hero!! There may be a wait, but the savings is worth it...TRUST ME! Tip: get the $25 1yr Warranty for the designer shades. If ANYTHING happen to them, they'll replace for free...no questions asked!! So far this is my best and favorite purchase of 2017!!! read more

Terrible. The staff need more training in skills and customer service. The young lady that helped me in room one was good, professional and efficient. The young lady that helped me checkout was more than sweet, but did not know the computer system at all. She actually seemed nervous, like she knew she didn't know what she was doing. The checkout process took longer than the exam itself. The doctor did the bare minimum, felt no warmth or passion for her profession. I am not at all impressed with this place. I went in to get contacts and glasses. I can see well with the glasses but I don't really like the frames. They give me a headache. My first pair of contacts, one of the eyes had the wrong strength and I couldn't see. I went back in and they tried to sell me another box saying that they couldn't/wouldn't replace them them because I opened the box. I'm not BUYING another 6 months worth of contacts because you messed up. On top of that my husband bought a pair of glasses and within a month the glass popped out because the frames fractured and ended up breaking all together. He went back and asked if he could buy more frames. After getting a lot of negativity and "you'll need to take another exam" talk. He finally got them to sell him just the frames. Well guess what, about another month goes buy and these too broke in the same way. I called the customer service number and was told "HE will have to call to file a complaint before we can do anything. Really? I won't be going back and I will not be recommending them to anyone. read more

The staff is professional and friendly. Milton is particularly sincere and empathetic. However Dr. Caroline Nguyen is not pleasant at all. Upon discovering that I have a serious eye condition, she abrasively spoke to me like a child in trouble, and looked at me like I was dirty. Very poor bedside manner. And the worst part is that I'm certain she doesn't care. She wrote out my referral and went back to her office without blinking. read more

My first visit to America's best was very good but something happened the next year that was not a good experience at all. I received the call that my glasses were in and I picked them up. No one checked to see if they fit correctly. A few days later I wore the glasses all day and was terribly dizzy and had the feeling of unbalance. I then received a call from America's Best to return the glasses because they needed the frames. They then told me they popped in my current lenses (which they didn't). I returned the glasses and waited for them to call me back with the new frames. I didn't receive a call back so I stopped in the store. At that time I was told the first pair was the incorrect prescription. When I picked up the glasses, the new frames was peeling ..... they popped the lenses into place in the frame they had hanging on the wall. They still do not fit correctly but I do not want to go back. There is so much more to this experience but In will leave it with, 'I will not go back and would advise you to think about attending this place to get your glasses. read more

Don't know what kind of attitudes those who wrote lousy reviews had, but I came in with a good attitude and was treated VERY WELL. Nicole, Vanessa, Sbeidy, technician and Dr. Nguyen were all very relaxed. Dr Nguyen explained very clearly what my eye problem is and what can be done now to keep my drivers license as a "stop gap" ( have to pass the visual exam soon) and what should be done in the long run for best visual results. And I didn't know I had ins. which would pay for any of this.Vanessa ran it for me and they did pay some. People with bad attitudes need to quit expecting the moon yesterday and for free and then having a fit because it didn't go their way. That's not the way life works. read more

Arrived for my daughter's appointment on time, yet when I arrived I was told my appointment was cancelled because the doctor took lunch. When asked why I was not notified before making the hour drive to make sure I made it on time, the CSR made a snarky remark. The doctor taking lunch was not the issue it was not notifying customers of possible appointment changes instead of canceling without the customer knowing. Never again... read more

Don't be fooled by their ads. Glasses are expensive and cheaply made. My husband bought glasses May of 2018 and paid over $500.00 for them. He was very careful with them. If he wasn't wearing them, they were in their case. The frame broke last week and America's Best has discontinued them. We were told that is normal practice for them. Now we're looking at another $500.00 for glasses because the frames are specific to the lenses. read more
