Purchased "Pair Eyewear" glasses from this store. Since you cannot purchase the toppers in the store you are provided with a tiny slip of paper with a QR code that has a discount code attached to it. Unfortunately, it was misplaced. I contacted this store to see about getting another and not only was I told 'no' but the the gal I was on the phone with changed her 'friendly' tone to one of 'suspect'. There are ways to check and see if I had made a purchase or was trying to scam....I am really disappointed more so by my interaction with the store representative at this point. Ugh..... read more

Very deceptive with the DOCTOR because there's NOT ONE!! Claimed that I HAD TO be fitted for my contacts and when the appointment was set 18 days after the contacts arrived!! First I called when in traffic as a courtesy the employee said there was a 10 minute grace period and I was just 30 seconds after my appointment and they did all grace and forced me to wait 2 1/2 hours to get my eyes checked!! Also when I waited 16 days I called for a confirmation and was told NO APPOINTMENT!! VERY VERY POOR MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! I really enjoyed the service I was given. The staff was friendly and helpful. The doctor explained everything easily in a way I wasn't left confused. I will be going back when I need my prescription updated. I tell everyone asking about where they should go for glasses to go there. read more

I went for my first eye exam since I was a child. I'm now 43. What I first noticed was how friendly and hospitable everyone was. The doctor was amazing. She listened to me thoroughly and made me feel heard and understood. I walked away feeling confident. I checked out. Today, I got the call that my glasses were ready. Again, I walk in to the same hospitable environment. Once I tried my glasses on they were worse than my current vision. My heart sank because everyday is a struggle for me to read and do my job. Well, the lady helping me at first was nice. She set my glasses and paperwork to the side. The woman who picked them up didn't like that the woman helping me missed a step in her job, she proceeded to criticize her loud enough for every customer to hear. Very unprofessional. She called my name and asked me what the problem was. I told her I can't see with them. She explains that the problem was that the doctor prescribed me bifocals but that I didn't order bifocals. It was like the hospitality switch was turned off and suddenly I'm a nuisance she must deal with. She blamed me. All I did was sit with someone and order what they recommended based on the prescription in front of their employee. I've never read an eye glass prescription, I've never worn glasses and I've never purchased them. I politely explained that I just paid for what their person recommended. All while holding in my tears, knowing I'm going to have to wait another week to be able to see properly and for my eyes still feel better. They already hurt every single day because I can't see properly to do my job. In the end, she made some empty promise that she would talk about the lack of communication with the employee who ordered my glasses, while still making me feel like the whole situation was my fault in her undertone. I don't remember the last time I was treated so poorly in a place that is supposed to make you feel better. The only reason I'm giving this two stars instead of one is because the physician was amazing and she doesn't deserve a low rating, my confidence, and whether or not my glasses will actually be correct in a week is not very high. read more

We Never been here before. But will be getting our eye ware here for now on. My husband nose pad fell off his glasses and was cutting his nose. We walked in explain our problem. The receptionist said "that is no problem at all, we can fix it." They replaced both pads and they adjusted my eyeglasses so it doesn't fall of my face. We asked what we owed. Today was my first time going to America's Best. Found that that doctor's bedside manner was a little questionable, but the ladies up front definitely redeemed the experience. Despite needing special lenses, I was still able to get a new pair of glasses AND contacts for less than I usually pay for glasses alone. And the office manger took her time to get me the best possible pricing using my insurance's discount plan. Will definitely be using them again for my annual visits. Update: received both my contacts and glasses within a week of my visit. After using my trial pair, decided to change brands of my contacts, and was able to exchange them hassle free. read more

Finally came back to get my contacts. Had a wonderful experience this visit. Immediately greeted by the desk clerk Ulexses. She was pleasant & quite knowledgable throughout the entire visit. Dr Mengarelli is my new favorite Optometrist! He was cool as heck! During my exam we chopped it up and had a few laughs. Love when the staff makes you feel welcomed and appreciated. I worked in Customer Service for 15 years b4 quitting and going to nursing school. I have been extremely happy with my service. I originally was supposed to go to a different store. When I arrived to an appointment I had scheduled 2 weeks in advance I was told they didn't have me on their list. Then they told me 2 others had the same appointment and they were already there and after the doctor finished with them he would need to go to lunch. I am a very busy Sales/Customer Service Director and have a full plate with long hours and working between 2 locations so time is not only money but a luxury. I immediately tried the Slidell location to see if the customer really does come first and must say I was extremely impressed. The Doctor is phenomenal, the workers within the facility are extremely friendly, obviously happy and take the time to explain. Today I called because my glasses need some work and need replaced. Long story short, the woman who answered the phone Miss Megan is better than most of my phone agents. She immediately was empathetic, got up and asked the supervisor some questions and was trying to provide good customer service, which she did. Then the supervisor, Miss Pamela, came on the phone and had the same demeanor and sounded just as empathetic telling me to just come on in. I will refer, refer, refer and hopefully get others to give a good review once they meet the staff. Kudos' Miss Megan and Miss Pamela. read more

My 18 year old daughter and I went in to get contacts. Me to get refills and her for a new appointment and contacts. We were greeted nicely by the young girl that was by the door. The older woman at the counter, who was in charge, was talking to a friend about some drama that made no sense and it had nothing to do with eye care. She finally turned to us after several minutes and tried to talk to us, but we could not hear her over her friend who was practically yelling unintelligible nonsense. The friend left and we could attempt to conduct business now. It was a Friday and she said that they only had one doctor and they were not there and after checking her calendar she stated that the doc would only be there on Tuesday and Thursday. So my daughter made her appointment for Tuesday. Then it was my turn. She pulled up my account and said that I have the 3 year no charge for checkups plan that I purchased, but my last checkup was over a year ago on November 2016. I said that was only 5 months. She then said in a VERY nasty tone, "I said November 2015!" I decided not to argue with the ignorant fool. So I said to just give me an appointment to see the doctor. She said that I could come in on MONDAY, to see the doctor. After what she had just told my daughter, I thought that it would be prudent to verify that a doctor would be there so as not to waste another trip. She then again said in a VERY nasty and arrogant way that "OF COURSE THERE WILL BE A DOCTOR HERE. I WOULD'T SCHEDULE YOU IF THERE WOULDN'T BE A DOCTOR HERE!" This despite what she told my daughter and I not 5 minutes earlier. After we left my daughter said, "She definitely said November 2016 dad." I knew that she did, but when you argue with an idiot, then you look like just as big of an idiot as the real idiot. Unprofessional, insulting, ignorant and appalling behavior. "Oh, I am sorry. I meant Nov. 2015." That is how you should have handled that and the snippy nasty comment about a doctor being there when she just said that there wouldn't be is insulting as hell. Never going back and I want the other 1 1/2 years worth of my 3 year plan that I paid for! I went to LensCrafters at the new Fremaux Town Center and was totally happy. A little more expensive, but I was treated with kindness and courtesy. Not to mention that my contacts fit much better and the prescription is right on. My daughter is also very happy with her new contacts. read more
