Yet, the management (owners) or lack of management's knowledge is the issue. They are not educators. In the more than six months that my child attended several things occurred that you should be WARNED about: 1) tuition increased $84 with no written communication. Emails were sent stating a 25 dollar increase a week. I was told that did not pertain to me no increase I was a new parent , only to find out in the portal of the increase. The director gravely resolved but the owner never responded to my request for a meeting regarding the issue. 2) No curriculum. The owner might say a team was brought in but you will never get a newsletter with academic focus for the week, no benchmark assessment or weekly activities. Lessons are on the wall but you can't have academics with inconsistent staffing. Some classes like the two years are so big you need small groups for instruction. 3) Staffing is a major issue. Some classes have consistent teachers others not so much. You will drop your child off to people you know and pick your child up to people you have never seen. Its so bad teachers in the room won't know the children's names 4) BUT THE WORST INCIDENT --- I went to drop my child off and it was 9:15. Since coming to the center the 9:00 cut off has not been implemented. I was met at the door without any communication from management and told we could not enter. I had a meeting as many other working parents, I was late. I had to take my child back home despite not being told about a policy before hand. I am not sure why you would take your child to a place that is punitive to parents --the customer. It boggles my mind that the people I pay could not have resolved an issue or implemented a policy more effectively. THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR WORKING PARENTS--- NO CURRICULUM , CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND PUNITIVE TO CLIENT. Please know my review is as a parent and early childhood professional with 3 degrees.

They treat us as family. I am very familiar with all of the teachers there and I am always welcome with a smile. I look forward to many more years with them as my grandson looks forward to going to daycare everyday and lights up when he sees, Libia, Gladys, Gracie and Ms. McConicle (hope I spelled it right). I am very very very happy with my choice to bring him here. I waited to give the relationship time to be sure I was right about trusting them with my only grandchild and I was. I am a WORKING grandmother and I have never had an issue. The rules are the rules and are there for the safety of the children and to keep consistency. I appreciate that they take pride in that! The students talking amongst themselves with topics that are inappropriate, cussing at each other, eating and drinking at stations . . . However the one that almost had me get up and leave was a roller hit the floor and another student picked it up and acted like she was going to roll my hair with that roller. I had too much product used in my hair - which we discussed prior to starting about - and it would have been nice to be given a towel to put on the back of my neck as the dryer setting was set high in attempts to dry my hair. My hair wasn't completely dry when I left so ultimately the curls didn't hold, but morning you couldn't even tell I had my hair done. Also, if they are talking about other clients in front of me, I know they are talking about me in front of other clients, but once again, this goes back to professionalism or in this case lack of.

In the past I just get a wash and blow dry to prepare my hair for braids. I was assigned to student Antionete. She warmly greeted me then off to her station we went. She confirmed the services I was getting then completed a standard hair evaluation with one of the teachers. The teacher brought to my attention that my strands were a bit dry and could use a moisture treatment. I appreciated this since I've had my hair in braids for awhile although I condition well when I take them down. While Antionete washed my hair she regularly checked the water temperature and her scrub was comfortable for me. I enjoyed the thorough wash and condition. She also didn't rush to complete my flat iron. My all natural curly hair was nicely straight and light weight. I was quite pleased with her work and will definitely return. Hopefully, I'll get her again next time. However, I observed the other students doing a good job on their customers as well. Also that I was in need of a trim. I appreciated them bringing both to my attention. Normally I only let my hair dresser trim but I felt comfortable with Antionette and with the teacher being there as well. She did a great job on my trim. Big before and after difference. She also did a beautiful job on my silk press. My hair was so nice and light afterwards. I highly recommend Empire Beauty School for your basic hair needs.

This school is a diverse group of kids and great teachers and administrators. I have had 2 kids go there, the last one is a Senior. The first one is a Sophomore at a Division 1 college in the honors program. Mr. Smith, the Principal cares more about these kids than any principal I have ever seen. They have teachers who come in early and stay late to help the kids who are having trouble with different subjects. I lived in PTC and my first kid went there to the green school. Drugs, clicks, and entitled brats reigned there. Sandy Creek is a great school with great people. No trouble at all. Yes, its diverse, so is the world.
