Let me start with the building, it is beautiful! The design, the resources. the large multipurpose rooms and the classrooms are are conducive to the type of work being done with the Youth and Community. I have gone for several occasions from banquets to rock climbing fun to youth workshops and they are always more than accommodating. Speaking of the activities, again I have gone for sporting and fitness retreats with students. This time, I went to facilitate a workshop and they had all of the equipment that I needed. The staff were super helpful! All of this makes an awesome facility and I look forward to continued partnership!

Bridges is a gem in downtown that I believe probably is under utilized. It was the first…read morecommercial green building in Memphis and has all kinds of neat "green" features - like carpet made of recycled water bottles and solar panels. The architecture is very unique and is designed to help promote learning about buildings, structures and their relationship with the environment. I know this place offers a lot, but the scope of there activities and services is unclear. Their website isn't super helpful in communicating this sort of information either. I do know they offer team building activities, which is why I was here. Great experience! The activities were meaningful, well thought out and executed seamlessly. The staff was very helpful in facilitating conversations about the process while not letting us get too far off track in our discussions. One of my favorites of the night was the rock climbing wall! What a fun experience in general, let alone as part of a team building exercise. This wall is also open some Fridays for people to come and climb from 6-9pm for $15. Call ahead or check their facebook to check on which Fridays they are hosting this.

Lunch is from 11:30am to 1:00pm. Dinner is from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. A meal consists of a drink, plate of bread, appetizer, entree, and dessert. Entire cost of a meal $7.00 for students and $10.00 for general public after tax. The quality of the food is on par with eating on the square. You can't beat the price and quality. The students are always friendly and it is a lot of fun to eat here. Where else can two people have a nice sit down meal for less than $15 bucks?

The food ranges from good to inedible. Today is an example of typical Lenoir quality: the salad was good, the watermelon salsa was all yellow, watery and did not taste of watermelon, the beef kabobs were tasty but overcooked, and the turtle brownie desert was a messy pile on the plate...ugly, drenched in caramel, and littered with burnt chewy parts. The service and the atmosphere is always awkward. The dining area is a long narrow space and groups of servers (students) pile up at one end of the room chatting, with the cash register at the other end right next to the tables. It is dreary, and feels more like a funeral home than a casual dining venue. The students are learning and the price is reasonable for a 3 course meal...if it was all tastey. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect the managers, chef and staff to try to learn from their diners. Time to expect more of Lenoir Dining...or I'm calling chef Ramsey!
