I am a lover of watches and have quite a few watches that have just simply run out of battery the past couple years. I've gone to a couple shops around the Denver metro area and the prices were right, but the battery life was barely a year. So, I've been so reluctant to go and pay money for a battery I'll have to replace again next year. I'm not sure how long this battery will last, but I am hoping more than a year with the correct batteries placed in them. First of all, this is not the best part of town and I did have to search for it a bit because it does not have a sign where there should be one. The owners have been here forever and definitely knows watches. The battery prices depend on the type of battery your watch requires. I took a MK and Fossil watch in, and surprisingly the Fossil battery cost more. The battery costs range from $5-13 and it took about an hour for him to replace ( although, I saw someone walk right in and left in 10min. I think it depends how much work or how many watches are ahead of yours). I was eavesdropping and the owner remembered this guys watch from 2002! Then the owner called the guy out and was like...."I did not replace the battery on this watch last time, because I know my batteries. The correct battery was not placed in this watch. I will put the CORRECT battery in for you." I was like "O DAAANNNG." So, I've come to the conclusion that a lot of watch places skimp on the correct battery for your watch. Thus the reason why the battery life doesn't last very long, or your watch doesn't work correctly. Customer service was very good, and I am hoping the battery life will be very good also. I am pretty much writing this review so I know when I went in to replace my batteries. Currently, I have no complaints and would highly recommend this shop. read more

I visited America for the first time today. I had a new watch that needed a band adjustment. They took me right away, adjusted my watch until it fit just perfectly. They said if for any reason, after wearing it a few days, if it didn't feel right, to please bring it back in and they would adjust it as needed, no charge. I am so happy to find a new watch shop and I can't rave enough. read more

All I needed was a new watchband for my go-to watch. Easy? It wasn't until I found this store on Yelp. The owners were helpful and patient (I'm particular!) and I found I watchband I liked at a price I could afford. They put the watchband on and got a buckle to match the gold color of my watch. It appears that this business has stopped its operation. The days and times are still posted on the door, but nobody has been there for a few weeks. It would be great if they could post a status on the door so we all know if they will be coming back, or if they are closing for good. read more

First the actual review of the service: great. Its quick comparable in price to lower tier big corporate stores like battery plus (except b+ people are not well trained). Took 3 watches to get battery installed (including my 18 yo Seiko which was the very first expensive thing I bought with my own money) and one resized. It was done fast and fixed the screw up done by B+ on another. At the end he didn't even charge me for the other services, just paid for 3 new batteries. He also quotes you prices before working on them. Second, the actual people this shop is owned by: amazing. Americo and his wife Frances (who offered me water lol) are Army vets (like myself) and Denver small business owner x 40 years. He's a 6th gen watchmaker and been a watchmaker for 60 years taught by his father and uncle at young age. He's the real deal. He works on restoration, he showed me authentic parts for classic Omega. Very warm guy, loves to talk esp. veteran and watch collection stuff. I was there for 1.5 hours just shooting stuff lol They're old school so shop is very simple. I think he's doing this just to keep busy though he could retire. FYI because of fraud he only takes credit and cash. Also if you have serious watch repair beside battery changes and quick fixes, currently he's backed up 300 repair jobs, so if you need something done fast you might talk to him about other legit watchmakers in Denver area (he knows them all). read more

I have had my Rolex 5513 for 15 years. It has never run on time. I have tried a number of "watchmakers" to get it close to being on time. It took Americo a few times to get it right (that is not a complaint, that is to his credit), but when he did it was perfect. He is a wonderful person and very good at what he does. read more

There is definitely something to be said about giving your business to the neighborhood mom & pop store and Americo is just the place. They have been there for over 30 year! I haven't been to a shop like this in years (in fact I kind of felt like I was back in the 70's upon walking into this store). The service was friendly and prompt. They were extremely knowledgeable on watch batteries and bands. He even polished my watch face and removed the minor scratches without even me asking. He did such a wonderful job in servicing the first watch, he is currently servicing my other automatic watch. I would not hesitate to use his expertise and knowledge to service mechanical watches.
