Has anyone else been mistreated by this company? The bushy, brown haired, 30 something who claims he is one of the quoters for the business was so insensed about the quote the gray/bald haired guy gave us that when we questioned why they did not disassemble our product before powder coating (as agreed by the gray/bald haired guy) he said that they don't disassemble and not for that price. Then threw down his screw driver, belly bumped my husband and demanded a fight. He did this without a facemask. He tried calling me names to get my husband to hit him. He even called him old! Oh my goodness! Fortunately, my husband is old enough not to fall for any of that childish behavior. He would not or, perhaps, could not just discuss the issue. His behavior is costing this company several thousand dollars of our business and all our friends in the classic car industry. read more

Hands down best powdercoat place in town. I dropped off a Harley gas tank with a couple color schemes in mind. They explained how some speciality colors come out different and ordered some samples just to see how they would turn out. I ended up going with a deep bronze with a sparkle clear and it turned out great. Finish is smooth and the powdercoat has held up with gas getting splashed on it every now and then during fill ups. Most standard painted tanks would've been Toast. I've been to other powder coating shops but Americoat is my one stop shop now. read more

Took my Chevy malibu stock rims to get them powder coated gloss black along with 20 of the lug nuts to get them coated as well Metallic silver to match my car. Dropped them off on a Monday and was told they would be done maybe by Wednesday if not Thursday morning. They were super busy so I didn't get them back till Friday no big deal for me they looked great!! And when I went to pay for them they didn't even charge me for the lug nuts! I just moved back to north OC and bought a used car. I wanted to change the OEM wheels to grey/gunmetal and I found the good reviews for Rich and his shop via Yelp. They work with a local shop down the street (Ernie at hwyAuto) that puts your car on their lift and delivers the wheels to Americoat. Rich and his crew do the sandblasting and powdercoating and return the wheels to hwyAuto to remount the tires and balance the wheels. I dropped my car off on Tuesday afternoon and picked it up this afternoon (Friday). Rich and his staff were nice guys and called me back when I left a message at the shop. I'm very pleased with the quality and color of my wheels. The combined price for the powdercoating at Americoat and the charge for the wheel dismounting/ car storage/ tire remounting/ wheel balancing at hwyAuto still cost less than buying a set of new wheels (even cheaper replicas). If you have good quality wheels and just want them a different color, I highly recommend calling Americoat and getting them powdercoated. read more

Great guys to work with. I've been restoring a '66 Toyota Land Cruiser, and the work Rich has done for me is top notch. Demonstrates the quality, as I had to put a fair amount of torque on the Phillips heads when reassembling the box, and you can see no chipping whatsoever. Second photo is the gage cluster face plate. This piece has tabs on the back that have to be bent to reassemble. I had to bend, and actually tap the tabs with a hammer to get a tight fit and again no chipping. They do it right! They do powder coating for the local hot rod builders, but are happy to help out a hobby builder like myself. They work on there own cars, so they understand a guy wanting the job done like it was one of there own. Looking forward to getting my frame blasted and powder coated at Americoat! If your idea is reasonable, if your goal is attainable, they will tell you. If not, they will suggest alternatives. I already referred a friend to this company. He couldn't believe the price and quality after searching around. I had a set of two-piece forged wheels that is rare: stripped and PC'd. They set a price, I agreed, and started working on it even before I could get in to my car to leave. Turn around time was quoted at 3 days, it was done in 1 1/2. Communication was unbelievable and had any color selection for my liking. They even offered advice and explained current trends. Needless to say, compliments from friends and strangers on their job speaks for themselves. Do not hesitiate with them. Stands behind what they do even if there are problems I called Rich to powder coat a fireplace screen in a remodel job I am doing. He was quick to get back with me and his price was fair (not the cheapest but fair). I brought in this large fireplace screen his staff was great they got it back in a week. Unfortunately during the process the screen bent a bit and didn't look right. This is when you find out what kind of a business you are working with....Rich immediately took responsibility and said no problem let me fix it. He ordered new screen fabricated it to match the old screen and did it with a smile. The screen turned out great! You know you are dealing with reputable people here. These guys are fantastic! I have hired them to install a tough black max on two work trucks. The jobs were completed several years apart and both times they excelled. Recently I met with Rich. I needed a rack customised. I needed a rack that would sit lower than standard. They came up with a great solution to drop my total rack height 3" and it looks extremely clean. They also installed a detachable cross rod parallel with the tail gate per my request allowing me to hang materials out of the bed with out the weight sitting on the tail gate. First time I've actually been motivated enough to write a review. That's because these guys are really great! I've wanted to get my bike repainted forever, but never really had the time. Originally bought it off Craigslist back in 2010. It's a nicely made 80's era Bridgestone converted to single speed. Unfortunately, it also had a kinda junky paint job that the guy who built it did himself, and it scratched super easily. I wanted to get a proper paint job on it for a long time, but procrastinated since that means taking off work to drive over to the place and also being without a bike for a week or more. For some reason, all the nearest good powder coating places seem to be all the way down in OC. So after years of putting it off, I finally made the trip down there. The guys at Americoat were super friendly. A few hundred different color options were available and, even though I am extremely picky, I was able to find what I wanted quickly. I spent probably less than ten minutes total discussing the project with them and choosing the color before leaving my frame and fork to be painted. About a week later I picked it up and the quality was excellent! Price (100 bucks to strip and repaint the fork and frame) seemed to be pretty competitive with the other places as well. Had them powdercoat a bicycle frame after seeing a couple bikes they'd done a good job on being prepped and assembled at Bikerowave. Figured I'd give them a shot after hearing another powdercoater I'd used in the past had been doing shoddy work lately. wow very very bad job done , will never never ever go back to this place , droped off my wheels to get just sandblasted on monday , was told would be done by wednesday , not done , went by on thursday around 2pm , not done , got them back on friday , so a two day job truns in to a week , what the hell , would have never left them there if I would have known it would take so long to get them back , and the job they did is so bad still paint on the wheels , when I say some thing about it the guy tells me well your going to paint then , get back home and two of the wheels are not even the wheels I droped off , they switch two of my wheels with some ones , the way I know is I removed all the wheel waits off my rims and two now have wheel waits on the then , dont even call to tell you your parts are done , very poor service , I just got riped off , Thanks read more
