PSA: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS!!!! They do not back their shoddy work, and have done nothing to correct the huge mistake they made... I brought in a set of $1000 dollar wheels to have custom powdercoated. Paid 500 bucks. When I first received them I was happy..They looked good... BUT then a week later I tried to wash them then noticed water spots that wouldn't wash off... With every single wash, MORE water spots would form... EVEN just using clean water, new spots would form. I did some research online and talked to a detailer... They all said, either the coating was defective or the powdercoat process was NOT done correctly.. Either way, the coating was DEFECTIVE at this point. I hate to complain, and rarely do, but after spending $1000 on brand new wheels then paying 500 to have a custom color, I had to have a talk with them. I told them about the situation and was basically told "it's not their fault." After much deliberation back and forth, Wes finally offered to recoat them BUT said he was NOT going to strip them before recoating as "that was too much work." He also said I had to pay to get the wheels removed. So after paying 500 for a defective coating.. another 120 to have them removed, I take them to him for a re-coat. Well I got them today and they look like absolute garbage. There are lumps and bumps, rough spots, pits, dips, even a chip... Looks like they took no care applying the coat. I immediately let him know that I wasn't satisfied but he refused to make it right. I asked multiple times what kind of solution could we come up... NOTHING. I even offered to split the cost of redoing the entire set! He wouldn't do it. It's really unfortunate, I work around the corner from these guys and was hoping to support local business, but I'll make sure and spread the word to all my car friends to never do business with these guys. Pick this shop if you want to: 1. Have to constantly remind them to follow up on the things they promised they would get back to you on. 2. Not be able to get an accurate quote. 3. Deal with a backwards shop that doesn't value customer service. My experience with Newport Mesa Powder Coating was pretty frustrating. Throughout the whole process I had to babysit Alyssa and make sure she was doing the things she would say she would do. Yes, she was nice but I'd rather have someone that does what they say they're going to do than someone who bs's and just tells you what you want to here. I wanted to get a bicycle powder coated and she recommended that I drop it off to a bike shop a mile away that they work with and that they would pick up my bike for free once it was taken apart. The bike was done on Tuesday and despite Alyssa promising me somebody was going to pick up the bike any day- we got to Friday and the bike wasn't picked up. Throughout the whole process Alyssa and I discussed many different ways and options that I had in powder coating my bicycle and we did go back-and-forth on a lot of color options. Ultimately I decided to go with just my frame and chain guard which was an option Alyssa and I had initially discussed. Wes ultimately decided to add on A $60 pick up fee to drive 1 mile to the bike shop. His excuse was that I changed it from blasting and coating my whole bike to just my frame and chain guard even though that was something Alyssa and I had discussed initially when she offered free pick up. He also said that Alyssa promised me that without talking to him first. Ultimately I decided to take my bike elsewhere where I was quoted $80 less $140 less if you count the pick up fee. That's a huge difference. Wes also blasted one of my parts without my permission and said that I told him I wanted him to do it so I could see the color which absolutely isn't true. Wes's excuse for adding the $60 pick up fee was that I couldn't make up my mind on a one or two coat color and so he couldn't give me an accurate quote and had to make sure that his shop could turn a profit but really he couldn't give me an accurate quote on what it would be for on color vs two colors (one being flakes) because Alyssa never picked up the bike to get all of the parts. I paid the $20 for the part to never have to come back again. Ultimately it's up to you but I would never recommend the shop with all the options that are out there. read more

I had extremely good feelings about this company when they initially quoted my powder coating project. I was excited about the concept of renewing my patio furniture. I gave the company two sets of furniture at separate times. I love the color we chose, and while we opted to pursue our project during the initial months of Covid, we were pleased that the project did not take as long as we had thought. Unfortunately, we are not even three years post project, and one entire set of furniture has completely failed while the other set is intact. After many attempts to reach the owners via phone texts and messages, they did not pick up my call or return texts after my initial call and text when I submitted photos. I went by the business to express my concern that they had not responded to me and fully address the fact that the powder coating was blistering/corroding, I was told that this is "normal"! The coating is less than 3 years and quite frankly it could have happened less than one or two years and I just noticed it. Regardless, I have powder coating on other items outside my home for 20 years that have not failed, in addition to the other furniture set that they coated at the same time that did not fail. This is not normal! They are going to do NOTHING about this and basically told me to pound sand. They had no remorse and I will never go back. They did not back their service. read more
