If I could give 0 stars, I would. I have contacted Amerigas for 2 months for a tank removal. I have been lied to, hung up on, and pushed around. All I have asked is that our tank be removed prior to us selling our home and closing on our house. It has yet to be removed and no one is helping. I have called and spoken with someone at least 30 times (not an exaggeration). It is the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I went in person to try and resolve the issue, of course the local office is not open to the public with a sign saying to not knock on doors or windows. How professional?! I have been given case numbers and extensions and when I have tried to use them, I am told they are invalid. Buyer Beware. Do not use Amerigas for your propane/gas needs. Customer Service = EPIC FAIL! After making several attempts at calling the local Amerigas to setup service, I decided to walk into their office. I thought the lady was helping another customer, but when I realized the 5 minutes she spent ignoring me were all small talk I decided to leave. She stopped me and offered to help so I told her I wanted to become a customer. I completed the forms and she assured me that I would receive a call within 2 weeks to get my service installed. I would be up and running within a month. She finally called, after 4 weeks, while I was out of town. I tried to return her call, but they never answer the phone. Instead, a message says they are unavailable and will be forwarded to the national emergency response line. There is an option to leave a message for your local office, but that always takes me to the wrong office. Regardless, nobody ever calls back. After an additional 2 weeks I found an email address on the Amerigas website. I wrote to the guy and the lady from the local office called the next night. She told me she had left many messages and was trying to reach me for days. My voicemail didn't have any messages and my caller ID did not show them as a missed call. I decided to setup service anyways. She made me 2 appointments for the 20th and 21st of December. That is 6 weeks after I initially walked into the Amerigas office. On the 20th, my wife stayed home all day waiting for the service man to arrive, but he never showed. We tried calling the local office, but got the same ridiculous message. I tried the email address previously used and the lady called me a few minutes later. She told me that "nobody is getting service hooked up this week..." and proceeded to complain about how busy they were. She named all of their employees and told me their schedule, as if I cared. The bottom line is that my wife stayed home for a day and almost a second day, while Amerigas couldn't even call to tell me they weren't coming. This Amerigas office puts the customer as their last priority. They are quick to tell you how they will find you if you don't pay your bill, but getting their money is all they really seem to care about. read more

Please save yourself time, money and headaches by choosing a different gas company. The ladies that work in this office have zero concern for customers. It seems as though you are inconveniencing them by trying to get assistance. I had this company for my gas service over three years. For two of those years my fireplace did not work. When I finally gave up and went into the office for assistance they assured me they would be able to rectify the problem. They sent a tech out to clean and light the fireplace($90 service). Ten minutes after the tech left if shut down and would not relight. I called them and let them know what was going on and they said they would send the tech back out in three weeks. I questioned the three week timeline as I already waited three weeks for him the first time. The response she gave me was classic. "We cant get to you sooner because people with only gas for heat with children are more important". I think you have got to be kidding me. So, I wait for the tech and he tells me on this visit the logs are no good and need replace($40 service). It boils down to paying almost $500 for zero use of the fireplace. $185 tank fill, $180 2years tank rental, $90 Clean and light and $40 inspection. Of the almost $500 I paid close to $400 and refused to pay the last two services since he didn't do anything. She told me he replaced the battery and I quickly pointed out I was the one that changed it. She proceeded to argue with me and said the form said the tech did it. I put the battery in and refuse to pay them for me replacing a battery. When I told them I had finally had enough of their poor service and they need to get their tank out of my yard. She said I still needed to pay the $40 . I refused again and she stated that it would go on my credit report. Instead of seeing that they are getting a full tank of gas $180 and I am not using the rental for the year they charged me $90 they would come out ahead over $170 . The $400 I already paid and these two things $270= $670. I told her to charge the $40 to my credit card but now it will be my mission to ensure others are well aware of how extremely poor this business is. Absolutely horrendous service. After THEY cancelled our first appointment, we rescheduled. They gave me a time window of between 8am to 12, which I called and confirmed again the day before the appointment. On the day of it's well after 11:30 so I give them a call, and leave a message on their voicemail. No response, so I call back again at 12 and get the run-around from the "Customer Relations Rep". She tells me the guys are running late and are almost done with their current job but still have to get lunch (!) then they'll be at my place. Amerigas should have called me to tell me they were running late, not have me chase them down! The guys (outside contractors) finally arrive about 1:30 and apologize for Amerigas' unprofessionalism. They show me their work order and it has me assigned for after 3pm! This is not the contractor's mistake, it was Amerigas. Unacceptable behavior from Amerigas, especially to lie and say they are "running late" when THEY screwed up the appointment time. They are unapologetic and do not care about their customers. We're done with Amerigas and are going with a different company. read more
