Coming from Charlotte, you do not always get the best service at bowling alleys, so I was really impressed. We had a pretty big group of boys from 6th-9th grade along with parents and coaches, and the staff was so positive, patient, and helpful with everything we needed. I around 9:25pm on Wednesday evening with a friend. It was cold inside lol. The cashier was Keith, who was also a manager. There was a special for $11.50 unlimited bowling until they closed at midnight. Shoe rental included. We were put on lane one. The instructions on the screen doesn't match the buttons on the machine. It's outdated, honestly. We figured it out and got it set up and started bowling. We were hungry and decided to get food. We went to get food at 9:50pm ish. Jane was snack bar staff. She stated that she's was supposed to leave at 10pm. She added that the oven was off, so that took away pizza, cheesy dippers, and pretzels. 8 wings come with the classic wings and 5 tenders are in the regular chicken tenders order. I ended up getting Alley sampler which comes with 5 moz stick, 5 wings, 3 tenders, 9oz fries and 5 cheesy dippers. I also got beverage called Berried Alive Lemonade (alcoholic). The total for it all was $38. My food came around 10:15pm. It was hot and fresh. At 10:23pm, I heard final order announcement for food/drinks. At 10:34pm, my friends food arrived. He said it was hot. He was supposed to have garlic parm fries with his chicken tenders and they were regular. They tried to give it on the side but friend said it wasn't good. I checked on my drink at 10:36ish and was told that someone else was making it. My friend and I went back around 10:44pm to check on drinks. My friend got a blue Long Island and it was sitting there since the last time we check about 10 minutes ago but no one said anything. There was another drink sitting which was supposed to be mine but apparently someone else took my drink. What was there was a mai tai. The staff began making my drink around 10:46pm and she brought it to me about 2 minutes later. It was tasty. Overall, bowling itself was fine. We had no issues with the lane. The biggest downfall was the wait for food and drinks. There was only one staff in the kitchen. Another lady, who i assumed was a manager didn't help until later on. This bowling alley is definitely not the best in Greensboro. I would say possibly better than Triad Lanes but Spare Time is definitely the best. There is Bourbon Bowl downtown but it's expensive and I haven't been yet. This would be a good spot if you want a chill and not so busy atmosphere. They can get busy though. Personally, this wouldn't be my first choice. I had planned to drink and bowl and it took almost an entire hour just to get my drink. Then there was no time to get another one. read more

The workers here are super unprofessional and the place is disgustingly dirty. The workers were pressuring us to purchase drinks and food from them when we clearly had already told them no various times. When we arrived there NO workers were seen at all, then after 10 minutes of waiting they proceeded to all come out together from a room in the back. This business wasn't our first choice, but easily became our preferred leisurely Sunday afternoon bowling alley. Facility is clean, staff is personable and friendly, however, the walls could use a bit of repair and paint touchup. Seating in pit is very limited (5 seats for 2 lanes), but there are high and low top tables available nearby. The snack bar has a variety of menu offerings including appetizers, sandwiches, pizza, etc., with free refills on fountain drinks. Check online for daily/weekly/monthly specials. You can also sign up online for a rewards program. We definitely will be back. read more

AMF on S. Holden Rd is a great place to spend quality time with family and friends. The atmosphere is just flat out amazing-- employees like Sam, Raquel, and Anthony always welcome you with open arms. Sam really knows how's to keep the energy flowing with music request while keeping it very clean and professional. Raquel and Anthony are like Kobe and Shaq in the bar area serving great drinks and food. All Inconveniences are handle the correct manor. I literally go to AMF so much that the employees recognize me and I go at night while wearing my mask!!!! If I wasn't for the crew at AMF.. I wouldn't have a Hobby/Sport to lean on. We went with some friends here to enjoy a few games of bowling. AMF All Star Lanes kind of gives off a retro bowling vibe. Prices were fair and the ambiance was nice. Service for food and drinks are awful. Brought a group for a party and the line was at least 30m. Then we ordered a tower the person behind the counter never mentioned needing multiple id's for a tower to which then we needed to stand in line for another 30m. Came here for a friends birthday so there was a group of us, we drank and bowled and had a damn good time. This place was genuinely awful when it came to service. With only two people working during peak bowling times on a Thursday night, food service was non-existent. Waited nearly half an hour for an order of fries and when we finallly found them, just sitting on the counter, order number not called, they were cold. if you want to eat, eat beforehand. Otherwise you may never see your food. As far as the lanes themselves are concerned, they were about as clean and upkept as any other bowling lane. Well, I can't even comment on the experience because we weren't even allowed to have one. The signs outside indicated that it was college night and that the place was open at 3pm. We came around 5pm. There were only four cars in the parking lot and inside NO lanes were occupied. We were told to leave because it was "league night". If that was the case there should have been external signage showing that the public was not welcome at that time. We had to leave with my daughter crying because she didn't understand why we weren't allowed to play. Frankly, I don't understand either. read more

When we booked for our event we was under the impression that we would have our own private space with someone to tend to our every need. When we arrived we were on time and AMF was not prepared for us. We didn't have our own space. We shared a tiny space with two other parties. I will say the two associates that tried their best to accommodate us. Tried to provide what we needed while trying to help other parties. This was the worst experience ever. The alcoholic beverages were awful. The food was okay. I could've been better. I will never book another bowling party with AMF. Whoever is in charge is over booking parties and then not checking with bowling alley to see if they can accommodate these parties. You guys were extremely understaffed. Needless to say I will not spend another dime of my hard earn money with AMF. I would honestly like some of my money back. And if nothing comes of this statement oh well we will not be back or recommend anyone to bowl there. On top of it the building is very outdated. I'm a Very upset customer. read more

I found it very pleasant and reasonably priced as long as you are not drinking. However, I always go in the daytime. I also like the fact that there are not a lot of bowlers there so no one is right beside you bowling. Not yet anyway. May that won't be a problem in the daytime. read more

The place was a mess to be honest. Some of the staff were great. The others were rude and appeared very unkempt. I know I can't really blame the establishment for the actions of other patrons but the place was a zoo. Kids were climbing over the arcade equipment, slamming the plastic toys guns on one of the games to the ground, running in front of people while they were trying to bowl, and screaming at the top of their lungs. I cannot say enough good about this very fine bowling center. The lanes are beautiful, a very well kept facility. The staff, from the General manager on are exceptionally nice and welcoming. I'd give them a 10 star if it was possible. I have never been treated so well and felt my patronage was so appreciated at a bowling center as I was at All Star Lanes. Thank you to all of the staff from the general manager to the grill. Hayden was also a joy to speak with and does a superb job keeping the equipment in top notch shape. Very friendly staff, cheap bowling, and a full bar. I wish I could leave a more in depth review! Simply said, they won me over from Spare Time because they are better staffed and have much nicer employees. I'll take good service over laser tag any day of the week. Definitely go on Sundays. I go bowling here often! I go here most of the time I bowl as the staff is very friendly and polite. The rates are reasonable and they have open lanes before 9pm unlike other places. The negative that should be addressed are the bathrooms. They are gross. Very unkept. Bugs/ dirt in light fixtures. Cheap doors on bathroom stalls that have locks that have been replaced and broken but never taken off. Holes in the tile walls that aren't filled in. Cracked and discolored sinks. I don't go unless I have too! Needs upgrading in the bathrooms too but could use it in the facility as well. Full bar which is great but a bud light is 5 dollars so get a soda it's free refills. Sometimes liquor specials if that your thing but not sure on the prices. Bowling lanes work great and lanes seem kept. Very laid back Place which is nice.
