Staff is always friendly and helpful. The pizza is actually really good at affordable prices. And the games. Retro arcade games. A whole fleet of limited edition pinball. Air hockey. Lots of ways to spend time. A great overall experience. The patio is a nice place to sit and talk away from the constant dings and bells if you're looking for quiet. FYI: Friday night at 8pm, 21+ only.

I love bar-cades and Boxcar is no exception. I've been here many times and love all of their games. They have a good mix of retro games from my childhood and some newer ones like Mario Kart. There's also a bunch of physical bar games like basketball, air hockey, foosball, etc. It's so easy to spend the whole day here. This is the first time I've eaten at Boxcar though and I was pleasantly surprised! The pizza had a good amount of toppings on it, the serving size was pretty big for a personal, and it tasted really good for how fast it came out.

Stopped in here as part of our Brew Peddler tour of Greensboro, and then came back after for more fun. I've been multiple times before, and am still a big fan. So many great retro games, different game styles for everyone in your group, they've also got a full bar and a pizza kitchen with some fantastic pizzas. We spent about an hour after the tour here, just hanging out and playing different games. We also got a chicken bacon ranch pizza which absolutely hit the spot. Full of flavor and generously topped, it was exactly what I needed to refuel! We were able to enjoy it on their large front porch, which offered a nice breeze, but also sim coverage. Boxcar is definitely a gem, maybe more so for people of my generation, but every time I go, I have a great time. Highly recommend

Majority of the coin machines weren't working. The ones that were working, you could not use a card on them and had to use the atm next to it and pay the fee. A large amount of the gaming machines had out of order signs on them, and some that didn't would just eat your coins. Gets pretty packed the later it gets and you can barely hear yourself think. Drinks are pricey, you have to pay to park and if you leave even over a minute over your time slot, "parking management solutions" will send you a BS bill in the mail. Honestly not worth it anymore

I arrived Around 4:05pm on a Saturday afternoon with my friends after grabbing some bunch. We got a round of green tea shots. Whiskey, peach snappa, and sour mix in the green tea shot, which is on special today for $5. It was tasty and the bartender said it was a popular shot. We sat outside for a short period so they could smoke cigarettes. I don't smoke but I accompanied them. There were heaters outsides which was awesome because it was cold haha. We got a couple more drinks and played various games. It was vibe and always is one. No complaints at all.

I'm glad to see Boxcar doing well. I made a recent stop after not having visited for a loooooooooong time. They're dishing out pies consistently now, and they look outstanding. Their Boxcar Lager was also good and I was pleasantly surprised by its taste! More games, and more pinball. Even Guitar Hero to have a good time! Bar service is good. The weekend ambience is crazy! A lot of people so it adds to all the fun. Overall it's a good vibe.

Drinks and arcade time with the kiddos was super fun at Boxcar!! The drinks were served quickly, and were reasonably priced and the space very clean and well put together. We got $20 of tokens and enjoyed a full hour of games - from skeeball to guitar hero to space invaders and more!

This place is for all ages depending on the time of day to be completely honest. We just came passing through on our way road tripping and loved it, will be back and are planning to make a trip to Greensboro now. It has a cute little arcade and the food is absolutely delicious. I mean it's pizza...it's hard to go wrong with pizza and they do have pickle pizza that's interesting but I do wanna come back and try it and they do have cannolis that I'm very intrigued about. All in all the bartender was amazing, pizza came out SUPER FAST and everything went great i recommend, highly. Oh and the bathroom is selfie approved and clean with cup holders haha

Good times. Lots of retro arcade games. Inexpensive fire pit pizza. Parking is an issue. You have to pay $8 to park in a lot.

Fun stop on a Saturday bar hopping! The atmosphere is games and fun, lots of arcade options. Even basketball and air hockey. Have a drink while you explore. I love the newer layout with the pizza kitchen indoors. We had a chicken bacon ranch pizza for a snack and it was so tasty!! Also plenty of patio seating to enjoy while the weather is nice. We will have to come back to try the Sunday morning yoga...

Unfortunately, that wasn't what happened. During my first race, I was running in third place when another driver repeatedly rammed me from behind. Instead of stopping the driver who was causing the problem, my kart was shut down, allowing me to fall to fourth place. I brushed it off and kept racing. On the next lap, it happened again. My kart was stopped a second time, and two more racers passed me. After that, my kart felt noticeably slower, even with the accelerator fully pressed. Whether that was intentional or part of the system, it certainly didn't feel like I was competing on equal footing anymore. What frustrated me most wasn't losing. I can handle losing. What I can't accept is paying to race while feeling like the race is being controlled instead of officiated fairly. If another driver is creating a safety issue by repeatedly ramming people from behind, address the driver causing the problem, not the person being hit. When I decided I didn't want to participate in my remaining races because I no longer felt the competition was fair, I requested a refund. I wasn't demanding anything unreasonable. I simply didn't want to continue paying for an experience I no longer enjoyed. I was immediately told the races were non-refundable, with no effort to understand my concerns or offer any reasonable solution. The manager came out, but the interaction only made things worse. The staff wasn't even polite , but and seemed very inexperienced in handling customer complaints. There was no attempt to de-escalate the situation, explain exactly why my kart was repeatedly shut down, or offer any form of customer service that would leave me feeling heard. Everything felt very rigid: "That's our policy," and that was the end of the conversation. I left feeling dismissed and disappointed. I came to spend quality time with my kids and enjoy some friendly competition. Instead, I left frustrated, because I spent a pretty penny for races I was no longer interested in doing. The facility itself is nice, but customer service matters just as much as the attractions. Until management learns how to handle legitimate customer concerns and applies race rules consistently, I can't recommend spending your money here. I'm not sure if it was the color of my skin or gender and I have NEVER made this kinda accusation, but the experience definitely felt targeted.

It was like 20 mins drive. We didn't know what to expect. When we arrived, we were excited to see what this location provided and hoping it will be good compared to the last location we went to in other state. The place was clean and there was a good amount of people playing at the arcade. The service was great. We didn't have any complaints about how the place run. We noticed people who were playing at the claw machines seem to be happy and they won bunch of plushies. We also won a few plushies too. We also took a photo at one of the Photo Booth. The prize redemption prices are astronomical which is a massive disappointment to any kids you've brought who may think that they can get a $0.50 prize after their parents spent $75 in game time for them - and they find that they only have 1/4 of the points needed for the cheapest things. Gaming prices also feel considerably higher than other options in town but with that said, they have the biggest selection of newer games in town so that's a trade off that I can understand. The food appears fine but I haven't had a chance to eat here yet so I can't rate it. The bar service is annoying - despite having a full bar you have to order at a counter - when the bar is open. I understand they probably have issues at this location and I'm sympathetic but I would love to see more of a proper food and bar experience be available during common hours. This place isn't Dave and Busters by any stretch and the way food and drink is handled is where that comparison really hurts Round1. I would come here far more often if they had a better experience in this part of their offering, despite the gaming prices being higher than other options. The staff do seem generally friendly every time we visit though, so that's a big plus.

The space has a laid-back, industrial vibe and does a great job honoring the building's history. This is the third business I've seen occupy this location since moving to Greensboro, and I love that they kept the original garage door windows while giving the space a fresh identity. Between the craft cocktails and arcade games, it's a fun place to spend an evening. The cocktails are great and well crafted. They run about $15, every drink I've tried has been enjoyable, but the House Cosmo has become my go-to, the martini list is a favorite of mine. The bartenders are always friendly and welcoming, and it's fun knowing that one of them founded Girls Guide to Greensboro. George's Garage also keeps things interesting with a great lineup of events, including monthly book clubs, craft nights, and weekly trivia (shout-out to Zero Dark Nerdy!). One tip if you're visiting: George's Garage shares the building with Machete and Sage Mule, so there are parking spaces nearby. Just don't park at Deep Roots Market--you'll likely get towed. Whether you're meeting friends for happy hour, planning a date night, or just looking for a pre or post meal drink, George's Garage is definitely worth checking out. I'll definitely be back.

It's outdated, honestly. We figured it out and got it set up and started bowling. We were hungry and decided to get food. We went to get food at 9:50pm ish. Jane was snack bar staff. She stated that she's was supposed to leave at 10pm. She added that the oven was off, so that took away pizza, cheesy dippers, and pretzels. 8 wings come with the classic wings and 5 tenders are in the regular chicken tenders order. I ended up getting Alley sampler which comes with 5 moz stick, 5 wings, 3 tenders, 9oz fries and 5 cheesy dippers. I also got beverage called Berried Alive Lemonade (alcoholic). The total for it all was $38. My food came around 10:15pm. It was hot and fresh. At 10:23pm, I heard final order announcement for food/drinks. At 10:34pm, my friends food arrived. He said it was hot. He was supposed to have garlic parm fries with his chicken tenders and they were regular. They tried to give it on the side but friend said it wasn't good. I checked on my drink at 10:36ish and was told that someone else was making it. My friend and I went back around 10:44pm to check on drinks. There was another drink sitting which was supposed to be mine but apparently someone else took my drink. What was there was a mai tai. The staff began making my drink around 10:46pm and she brought it to me about 2 minutes later. It was tasty. Overall, bowling itself was fine. We had no issues with the lane. The biggest downfall was the wait for food and drinks. There was only one staff in the kitchen. Another lady, who i assumed was a manager didn't help until later on. This bowling alley is definitely not the best in Greensboro. I would say possibly better than Triad Lanes but Spare Time is definitely the best. There is Bourbon Bowl downtown but it's expensive and I haven't been yet. This would be a good spot if you want a chill and not so busy atmosphere. They can get busy though. Personally, this wouldn't be my first choice. I had planned to drink and bowl and it took almost an entire hour just to get my drink. Then there was no time to get another one.
